Eram filled the two up on how the class was going and how amazing their group was. The bell rang and not everybody got to do their grading so they would have to do it on the next opportunity. Eram and his group got out and were excitedly talking about their grades.
"Eram it's so cool you got the highest grade!" Michael said with pride knowing their group was amazing.
Alexander looked back with envy and embarrassment. " Yeah right, it's so amazing that he got to be the greatest." Alexander said back while making sure the sarcasm could be heard by even a deaf person." and I ended up passing out how embarrassing." Lila was about to punch him but heard the last part and started feeling depressed.
She looked at him and started to tear up. " You think it is embarrassing that I passed out." She said with her face starting to droop down. She walked quickly away from the group to the nearest bathroom.
"Wait, I didn't mean that." Alexander shot out realizing his mistake. " Lila I'm sorry, wait." he was about to run after her but stopped when he saw her enter the bathroom.
Michael looked at Alexander and gave him a response that made Michael sink to the ground. " That was real shitty man. We will see you at class to clean up your act before then." Michael led the group to the next class leaving Alexander behind.
'Well damn, I fucked up this time.' Alexander sat down on a bench staring at the ceiling as he waited for Lila to get out. He thought about what he did wrong and how he could have fixed it. He found himself missing the group even though he thought he didn't care for the group. He looked around feeling more and more depressed knowing Lila was upset because of him.
Lila left the bathroom with her eyes sore from crying and saw Alexander sitting there lost in his thoughts. She looked at him and felt sad but before she could say anything Alexander hugged her and gave her a heartfelt apology. " Sorry, I was rude and I don't know what I was thinking."
Lila looked at him and asked a question. ' Why are you so bent on making yourself better than everyone are you not content with me?"
Alexander sighed and said something that astonished her. " Honestly I don't think I would have made friends with such an amazing group if it wasn't for you. I didn't realize it earlier but now I find myself competing with Eram and Michael. I keep pushing myself and I forgot to keep my rudeness to myself." Alexander looked at her with a serious look trying to convey his emotions to her better.
"Well, shit. I guess we better hurry to class." Lila said as she held Alexander's hand. " You deserve to hit you but I'll let it slide this time." Lila smiled as she spoke feeling more relieved after the talk. She was afraid his arrogance would make him be an asshole again but it was relieving seeing him growing as a person.
Alexander smiled, happy that Lila felt better and he was forgiven. He still felt envy towards those better than him but he could hold that urge down. When Lila held his hand his heart fluttered. He felt giddy at being close to her.
He and Lila used to be friends at an orphanage that held kids whose parents died in wars. Lila wanted to spend the rest of her life with Alexander however the orphanage had other plans to marry her off to a wealthier family due to her stunning looks. The orphanage wanted donations from the family so they were going to marry her as soon as she turned 16, Lila however did not want to be married off like that.
Alexander also liked Lila because she was fun to be around. They would sneak around the neighborhood stealing small things to have fun. They left at the first opportunity that presented itself with that being Xell allowing them to explore the world and be free. They didn't want to help others or to live permanently over there they wanted freedom.
When they arrived at the school they were overwhelmed and saw Michael and teamed up with him in a spur-of-the-moment decision. He seemed fun and cool, However, what drew their attention was how tall he was. To the two small kids seeing someone tall was a sign of strength and peace. If they joined him they would be safe no matter where they went. Yuki came a little bit before Eram but they welcomed her into the group with open arms.
Once Eram showed up Alexander started getting jealous because he would be the shortest guy in the group. Alexander viewed Eram as his rival in height and skill. He wanted to show Eram he was skilled and talented not just a runt. Lila punched him to let him know he was doing too much not to harm him exactly. Alexander thought while he was there that as long as he had Lila there he would be alright.
But he found himself in a tough spot when his competitiveness got the better of him and caused him to hurt Lila's feelings. As he walked down the hall he thought about how he got there and wondered how different his life would be if he didn't have Lila as an amazing friend. They reached the class barely on time and sat down by the group.
The bell rang and the teacher Mrs. Ferram started. " Welcome class today we will continue training on feeling and moving pho. Until you understand how to do that you can't move the pho you have already absorbed to form spells. Another piece of info is that in four months we will be going to a tournament hosted every year. The winner will get 20000 credits. So please keep that in mind with how hard you train." Mrs. Ferram sat down and the class started meditating.
Eram was showing his group how he moved the Pho around him. Yuki was trying her best but to no avail. Alexander managed to move it finally making him shout out of excitement. Michael and Lila were faring better than Yuki but not by much.
As the hours passed by all of Erams' group managed to move the pho to some extent. The group all compared notes to see how each of them felt or thought about how they moved the pho. Eram managed to not be nearly as good as Yuki and Michael at the end of their training session. While Alexander was close behind followed by Alexander.
Eram noticed how lacking his ability to move the pho was compared to the group was it got him down. ' Damn I was better than them but they managed to surpass me. I can move the pho around me a little bit but they can make it look like a mini tornado.'
Noticing Eram looked sad the slightly crazy teacher walked over to him to cheer him up. " Don't worry Eram. Benign can move pho like that in nothing more than a parlor trick. Since all of you guys managed to move the pho I will begin training you all on Spell casting." When the rest of the class heard that some managed to get up in outrage to show their disappointment, but a quick glare from Mr. Ferram shut them all down.
"Okay, your next lesson is to look for the pho in your body and try to manipulate it. If you have a heart core bring it outside your body, if you have a Body core just manipulate it in your body, and if you have a mind core." He pulled out a box with a little rabbit in it. " Manipulate the pho in the rabbit." he passed the rabbit to the group which passed it to Lila.
He showed them a drawing with ten circles placed around in a pattern of sorts." This is a basic body spell for you to learn please write it down in the notebooks I'm giving you guys if you have a body core." he passed five empty books to the group. " This will be your grimoire so keep up with it. Write anything you learn in it. I also gave you an expensive one since you all are so ahead of the class instead of credits."
Eram wrote down the circles on the first page and asked. " What makes this book expensive? Also, what does this spell do?"
Mrs. Ferram smiled at the excellent questions and answered with joy. " This is a body-enhancing spell that will increase strength as long as it is active. It's nothing more than a training prompt. For the other question, it has an infinite number of pages and the pages can reorganize themselves just write a number on the top right-hand corner and it will appear by the other ones with the same number."
Michael smiled knowing how amazing something like this is. " Do you have any other spells we can learn for the other groups?" Michael was excited to get to learn something.
" Of course." Mrs. Ferram showed two more with ten circles and continued while pointing at each one. " This one is a mind, and this one is a heart. Make sure to write everyone down that I show as long as it pertains to your core."
Eram and the group started ferociously scribbling down everything that was said. Mr. Ferram described in detail how every ability worked and why they were training spells. "They are training spells because they use a low core count in this case ten and they are easy to make but don't show much results." Mr. Ferram continued. "To create a spell first hardens the pho into the shapes of the circles that I showed to you all. They simply push pho through any of the cores and it will create the effect."
Eram tried his hardest but to no avail. " Sir, what am I doing wrong?"
Mr. Ferram instantly knew. " It will take practice. Casting a spell takes focus points one for every core and the larger they are the more will and focus it will take since there are ten you have to focus on feeling the pho, moving the pho, hardening the pho, and lastly pushing the pho through the pseudo core. Another piece of info to learn how much pho it will take multiply the total amount of cores by 5 so if you have ten it will take 50 pho and so on."
After about 20 minutes of trying Yuki managed to be the first to get it making a small light where the pho invisible to the naked eye was. " Ahh, I did it oh my gosh!"
