Chapter 21 - Chapter 21: The Trail of Clues

Sophia sat at her kitchen table, sipping her coffee and staring at the stack of documents in front of her. Rachel had given her a treasure trove of information about Ethan's business dealings, and Sophia was determined to dig through it all.

As she began to read through the documents, Sophia's eyes widened in shock. Ethan's company was involved in some shady dealings, and Sophia couldn't believe she had been so blind. She felt a wave of anger wash over her, followed by a deep sense of sadness. How could she have trusted Ethan so implicitly?

Sophia spent the next few hours poring over the documents, taking notes and making connections. She was determined to understand the full extent of Ethan's deceit. As she worked, Sophia's mind kept wandering back to her conversation with Rachel. Rachel had warned her about Ethan's ruthlessness, and Sophia was starting to realize just how true that was.

As she dug deeper into the documents, Sophia stumbled upon a receipt that made her heart skip a beat. It was from a local real estate company, and it showed that Ethan's company had purchased a property in Sophia's name. Sophia's eyes scanned the document, her mind racing with questions. Why had Ethan bought a property in her name? And what did it have to do with his business dealings?

Sophia felt a surge of determination. She was going to get to the bottom of this, no matter what it took. She quickly grabbed her phone and dialed Rachel's number.

"Rachel, I need your help," Sophia said, trying to keep her voice steady. "I found something in the documents you gave me. Can you meet me at the coffee shop downtown?"

Rachel agreed, and Sophia hung up the phone. As she waited for Rachel to arrive, Sophia couldn't help but think about what Rachel had told her about Alex. Rachel had said that Alex was working with Ethan, feeding him information about Sophia. But Alex had also told Sophia that he was willing to betray Ethan to protect himself. Sophia wasn't sure what to believe, but she knew she had to be careful around Alex.

When Rachel arrived at the coffee shop, Sophia filled her in on what she had discovered. Rachel's expression was grave, and Sophia could tell that she was worried.

"What does it mean?" Sophia asked, feeling a sense of trepidation.

Rachel hesitated before answering. "I'm not entirely sure, but I think it's connected to Ethan's plan to take control of your family's business."

Sophia's eyes widened in shock. "What? How is that possible?"

Rachel leaned in, her voice barely above a whisper. "Ethan's been manipulating people and situations to get what he wants. And I think he'll stop at nothing to achieve his goals."

Sophia felt a chill run down her spine. She knew she had to be careful, but she was also determined to fight back. She was going to take down Ethan, no matter what it took.

As Sophia and Rachel continued to discuss their plan, Sophia couldn't shake the feeling that she was being watched. She glanced around the coffee shop, but saw nothing out of the ordinary. Still, the feeling persisted.
