Sophia's heart was racing as she grabbed Rachel's arm and pulled her into a nearby alleyway. "We have to get out of here," Sophia whispered urgently. "That SUV is following us."
Rachel's eyes were wide with fear as she nodded. "I know a place we can go," she said. "Follow me."
Sophia followed Rachel through the winding alleys of the city, trying to lose the SUV in the crowded streets. Finally, they ducked into a small café, where Rachel was greeted by the owner, a friendly-looking woman with a warm smile.
"Rachel, what's going on?" the woman asked, looking at Sophia with curiosity.
Rachel hesitated before answering. "We're in trouble," she said. "Ethan's people are after us."
The woman's expression turned serious. "You're safe here," she said. "But we need to get you out of the city. Now."
Sophia's mind was reeling as she tried to process everything that was happening. She had never felt so scared and alone in her life.
But as she looked at Rachel, Sophia saw a determination in her eyes that gave her hope. They were in this together, and they were going to get through it.
As they waited for the woman to arrange their escape, Sophia couldn't help but think about Alex. Where was he? And whose side was he on?
She turned to Rachel. "Do you think Alex is involved in this?" she asked.
Rachel's expression was guarded. "I don't know," she said. "But I do know that we can't trust him. Not yet, anyway."
Sophia nodded, feeling a pang of uncertainty. She had thought that Alex was on her side, but now she wasn't so sure.
As they waited for their escape to be arranged, Sophia couldn't shake the feeling that they were running out of time. Ethan's people were closing in, and Sophia knew that they had to get out of the city before it was too late.
