Even she herself was amazed by her own plan, and the reason Lovie was so confident is because she knew that Catherine and her dad couldn't involve the authorities because the greater crime was committed by them. Lovie was brought out of her thinking when she suddenly felt a sharp slap on her face; now both her cheeks have matching palms. "How can you leave your sister because you did not want to take care of her? What kind of sister does that?" Mr. Crown shrieked.
While innocently looking up, Lovie was mentally reciting a vow that this would be the last time she was beaten by a member of this family. "I can only leave this house for you guys since you guys have decided to blame me no matter what," she sobbed as she told her father upstairs. Her father also said, "You can't leave," as he pursued her.
Recalling her stepmother's earlier exaggerated response, Lovie passed by her stepsister's front door before entering Sheila's room. With a hateful gaze, Sheila said, "Why aren't you dead yet? I want you to die," as soon as she saw Lovie.
Lovie glanced at Sheila and responded, "I thought you wanted to end our fight; didn't you say you only wanted to be my younger sister? Why did you tell your mom and dad to put the blame of what happened to you on me?". Lovie inquired. "You should be the one raped," Sheila shouted as she got to her feet in rage and approached Lovie, attempting to smack her.
"Why should I be sexually assaulted? Shouldn't you hold your mother responsible for your bad luck? Why didn't you ask her how those thugs obtained the key to the room she reserved? Lovie replied, intentionally upsetting Sheila, "Perhaps she had those men ready just for you."
Sheila became enraged and began to assault Lovie, yelling, "You bi**h." After Sheila pulled Lovie's hair, Lovie began to struggle with Sheila. Upon entering the room, Mr. Crown and Catherine joined the altercation by attempting to restrain Lovie so that Sheila could give her a good beating.
"Look, the three of you look like a perfect family. I can't believe that instead of helping me, my own father held me down so that my stepsister could hit me. What a father," said Lovie, who had managed to distance herself from them. She clenched both of her fists in rage as she gazed at them. The words "What do you mean? How can you fight your sister that just experienced misfortune? What type of sister are you?" were hurled at Lovie by her father, Mr. Crown.
"What did you mean by I fight my sister? She started the fight. I only stopped her when she tried to slap me at first and then told me I should be the one raped, as if I'm the one that put her in misery. I only kindly reminded her to question her mother, and she came on me and started dragging my hair. Don't tell me you want me to stand there and get beaten up by her," Lovie questioned her father.
"Yes, you should have stood there and not done anything; you know we are already coming after you; we would have pleaded with your sister to let you go. You should know your sister is in a state of panic and her body is weak; you should have tried to calm her down instead. What did you do?" Mr. Crown repeated.
"It's not like I'm the cause of her misery; why should I be beaten up? With her shitty attitude, I'm not surprised that she was raped," Lovie responded with rage. When Lovie felt a slap across her face, she realized she had been struck once more. "Leave this house," Mr. Crown shouted, trembling like a leaf in rage.
That is precisely what Lovie wants to accomplish. Ske knows that her father and stepmother will not allow her to leave the house because they still have terrible plans for her, so she attacked their beloved daughter, knowing that they would become enraged and expel her from the house. She would have left by then, but they might come to regret it.
"I can't believe you are banishing me your real daughter from home because of the fake one, but since you want me to leave, then I will leave," Lovie grumbled as she continued to act even though everything was going as planned.
After giving everyone in the room one last glance, Lovie left Sheila's room to pack her bags in her own room. She placed the hair she had taken from Sheila and Mr. Crown in separate white polythene bags. This is the second reason she started the fight; Catherine's actions earlier were too suspicious, so Lovie had to look into it because she couldn't possibly leave such a significant clue unchecked. She wouldn't have lost anything if the outcome was nothing, but if it was what she had in mind, Lovie grinned wickedly and said to herself, "Well, that would be interesting."
She thus fought Sheila in order to get her hair and Mr. Crown's hair, as well as to move out of the house, thus accomplishing two goals at once.
Lovie packed her luggage, pulled it to the Crown's front door, and then, with tears in her eyes, she turned to face the house that had caused her so much suffering in her previous life. She was relieved to have left that place.
"The next time I enter this house once again will be to mock the people residing in this house after I have already dished out my revenge," Lovie was thinking to herself. When the taxi that she had reserved while packing her things arrived, she hauled her bags out and loaded them into the vehicle. "Let's go," Lovie said to the driver. The vehicle began to move. Lovie rolled down the glass, gazed out the car window, and inhaled the liberating air.
