With the deal struck successfully, Kaelen finally had a way to complete the task given and at the same time prove that he wasn't same Kaelen she knew.
"Well then shall we begin...i do hope you are not one to back out on a deal" Kaelen spoke in a calm tone.
Velora cast a look of disgust at him. She never thought her brother would be so perverted to the extend of attempting to have her body. She wasn't going to let some freak to her the way he pleased. She had the perfect condition for him when he lost.
"You should know I've never once lost a duel" Velora spoke confidently with her sword still on her shoulder.
Kaelen knew she spoke the truth. Velora was a woman who was highly skilled in combat. She stood at top of her training class. Though she was still a trainee, she held combat and magical prowess that could rival an Archon. Yes, Velora was a Spellblade, which meant that she far surpassed Kaelen who was still an Adept in terms of both magic and combat prowess.
Kaelen wasn't worried about the gap between their power level, he had Nyx with him.
Kaelen had previously asked Nyx whether there was a way for him to increase his attributes.
Nyx confirmed that there was a way, but it consumed a lot of DA. Kaelen didn't need to worry about his DA getting depleted as he had Nyx by his side.
Kaelen accepted to sacrifice more than half of his DA which he used to open a new skill.
Kaelen had unlocked the Ascension skill which was recommended to him by Nyx, on the fact that he would reward her later with his divine liquid, which he will definitely do, if he survived this battle of pride.
The Ascension Skill as the name implies allows a user to ascend over their normal physical abilities and surpass their limits.
Kaelen, having purchased this skill obviously had the upper hand against Velora.
Normally, Velora was about three times stronger than Kaelen. With his Ascension Skill that would change as it would multiply his power be it physical or magical by seven folds. But the only limitation of the skill was that it had a short time limit. Which meant that he had just a few minutes to defeat his arrogant sister and complete his task.
Kaelen stood his fighting stance as he clenched the sword tightly. Against Velora's magic he stood no chance. But he secretly possessed three magic skills which was especially rare among the people of Vaeloria. You can thank his System for that.
He channeled his Shadow magic. Which was his divine skill unto his sword. Immediately darkness enveloped it.
Velora took her fighting position as she channeled her light magic to her sword using her divine skill.
It was a battle between light and darkness, only one would reign supreme. It wasn't just a battle between siblings, but a battle that would determine how they would see each other for years to come.
Even with his Ascension Skill, doubt still lingered in Kaelen's mind. He had never really seen his sister uses her full power on an opponent, so if he were to surpass her, she would definitely find it hard to accept defeat. Kaelen needed to be ready for anything that came after the battle.
With that in mind, Kaelen finally hardened his resolve as he looked for an opening to land a heavy blow.
As they both stood in their fighting position. Velora launched the first attack as she positioned her sword in a lance-like position, aiming for his heart.
Kaelen was quick to see her attack he leaped out of the way, leaving her sword to drive to the air.
Velora was a bit impressed that he was able to dodge her attack easily. But then again, it wouldn't be fun if she would immediately.
She proceeded to landed another attack where she moved at super speed standing right in front of Kaelen. She attempted to strike another her sword against his. But her attack was warded off by Kaelen's sword.
She didn't stop there as she kept swinging her light lance at Kaelen, but Kaelen easily blocked her attack with his blade.
Each time their blades collided, it sent shockwaves that could be heard throughout the yard.
Velora changed the tactics of which she attacked.
She threw her light lance at him. Kaelen could easily see through this attack. He knew that Velora was not one to attempt such a flimsy act of an attack. He kept his guard up.
He quickly evaded the lance by turning his body slightly, only to find Velora behind him as she caught the sword in a split second.
She held the sword in a dagger like position as she attempted to strike Kaelen from behind.
'So that was her plan? A tricky move indeed' Kaelen said inwardly.
He quickly turned around in a starboard position as he diverted the direction of the sword with his dark blade.
Velora was visibly shocked by this as no ome had ever been able to evade a move like this from her. How was Kaelen able to divert her attack? Was he able to read her attack? Did he expect her to attempt such an attack? No, that wouldn't be possible as she had never revealed a move like this before him. So how was he able to evade such an attack.
Velora's attack was diverted by Kaelen which made her lose her balance for a while. But still landed on her feet.
She cast Kaelen a confused expression as she stared at him.
Kaelen on the other was a bit impressed with her move as he never would've expected her to attempt such. Throwing her lance at him to distract him while she moved at an incredible speed behind him, catching him in a attempt to land a fatal blow.
Kaelen's Ascension skill wasn't just improving his combat abilities. It was also heightening his senses. That was how he was able to detect Velora's attack.
Kaelen smirked lightly at his confused sister.
"An interesting move indeed, is that all you got?"
