Velora was visibly shocked by Kaelen's combat ability.
When did he become so talented in combat? She never thought she would have such a hard time defeating her younger brother.
They have had previous duels in the past. She could recall that though Kaelen was talented in magic, he never really understood how combat works. So what changed all of a sudden? That was the question she askes herself.
The air remained silent for some minutes but was soon broken by another intense clash of their swords.
This time Velora resulted to using light magic along with her sword to combat Kaelen.
She made a light pistol which fired rapid light bullets. These bullets can be fatal when in contact with a person as they can drill a perfect hole in their opponent's body.
Kaelen observed her attack he quickly leaped from side to side as he gracefully dodged her attacks.
Kaelen landed gracefully as he gave a slight chuckle.
"Resulting to magic now, are we sister?" Kaelen said criticizing.
"We've been using magic since the beginning of this battle" Velora said in an act to defend her pride.
Kaelen just shrugged. He knew that Velora was slowly reaching her limits, where she would have to rely on her full power.
"Are you just going to stand, or are you going to attack?" Kaelen said with a sly grin on his face as he returned to his fighting position.
Velora felt humiliated struggling against her brother like this. She calmed herself as the light pistol in her hands vanished. She soon returned to her fighting position where she channeled even more magic into her sword.
Kaelen noticed this as he increased the amount of magic in his sword. Darkness covered the entire blade.
The two charged at each other simultaneously, as their blade clashed in an untamed display of skill and power.
Their swords sent several shockwaves throughout the entire field, threatening to break away the walls that surrounded it.
A huge gust of wind blew across the entire field. Raising the benches and training equipment from their original position.
While they clashed, Kaelen could see the struggle in her eyes. She was near of unleashing her power which Kaelen wanted to witness.
"Master, you have 20mins before the skill deactivates" Nyx warned as she watched the intense battle between the two.
Kaelen had to hurry up. He wouldn't stand a chance against his sister if it wasn't for this new skill.
"You seem to be struggling sister, why not show me your full power?" Kaelen said with a sinister grin on his face.
Velora was taken aback by his statement. She separated from their intense clashing as she stood before few meters away from Kaelen.
Kaelen had noticed she was struggling to battle with him. He urged knewshe wasn't at her full power, which means he was yet to reveal his full power.
Something then struck her. Kaelen had not yet attempted to land an attack on her. Rather he just defended himself by evading her attacks. Was he making a fool of her? Why didn't he attack? Was he just waiting for the right moment? Questions about Kaelen ran through her mind.
Nevertheless, she maintained her calm composure. It wouldn't be mature of her if she admitted to struggling with her brother.
"Are you sure you can handle my full power..brat?" Velora calmly said while faking a chuckle.
Kaelen just shrugged at her comment as a sly grin remained on his face.
Velora noticed this as she had already failed to accert her dominance over him. She lamented inside.
"You seem to be proud of yourself, why don't you attack instead of defending like a coward?" Velora spoke with a mix of pride and curiosity hinted in her voice.
Kaelen was a bit surprised that she had figured out that he wasn't attacking. But then again, Velora was not stupid when it came to combat. She carefully observed her opponent's move, carefully planning her next attack.
Kaelen would have to show her the extent of his power to get her to succumb.
"As you wish sister" Kaelen spoke as he tightened the sword in his hand.
Velora cast him a curious expression. Before she could come to understand where his courage came from. Kaelen rushed towards her at blinding speed which she could hardly see.
She narrowly stopped his attack by swinging her sword to match the direction of his.
She was shocked at how fast he moved. Almost bringing her to her knees.
Kaelen separated from their encounter as he proceeded to attacking her from every side.
She hardly kept up with his attacks. She moves back a few meters from him.
Sweat could be seen dripping from her forehead. She was definitely having a hard time keeping up with him.
Kaelen's attack didn't stop there as he leaped up into the air, directing the sword at her direction.
Velora quickly leaped out of the way. As the dark blade dug into the ground, creating a small crater around it.
Worry was written all over Velora's face as she looked at Kaelen as if looking at a beast of pure evil.
Shadow magic was an exceptionally powerful skill. It could even surpass the Light skill when used to it's full potential.
When did Kaelen level up this much? How was he able to put her in a corner?
She had never lost a duel in her life once and she was not about to lose to the likes of her perverted brother.
She was suddenly drawn out of her thoughts as Kaelen proceeded to land another attack. This time she was prepared. She used her Light skill to make her sword longer as it shone brightly.
Kaelen smirked at her feeble attempt. Only if she used her full power on him would she be able to fully stop his attacks. He'd been going soft on her.
Kaelen clashed yet again with her light lance. The fierce display of power and skill were seen between the two. But yet again, Kaelen managed to overpower her as he sent her flying back.
Velora regained her balance as she dug her sword into the ground to reduce the impact. The courtyard was a wide open space, so there was no need to worry about destroying the property.
Before she could recover from the last attack from Kaelen. She found him charging toward her with speed.
She had no time to react as Kaelen made a cut on the side of her face.
