Back at Leah's house, Titus' wives and subjects were finally concluding their meeting. They decided that, unless Titus objects, they would proceed with a plan to move all the amazons to the elf village.
The elf village has more infrastructure, and it would be much easier for the amazons to pack up and move than the elves. Titus and his wives could live in the elf palace.
While they are not nomadic, the amazons have been known to reestablish themselves in different parts of the forest occasionally. So, moving is not especially burdensome or unexpected for them.
The elves and amazons would work together to build homes, facilities, and expand the elf village to better accommodate everyone.
Amazons and elves have complementary strengths and weaknesses, and both sides have a lot to gain from cooperation. But until now, significant cooperation has been unfeasible.
Elves and Amazons often squabble since they have very different values and lifestyles. With no one to resolve their disputes, their only recourse is conflict. So instead, they choose to live apart and minimize interaction, only occasionally engaging in trade.
Under Titus' rule, both sides would be compelled to put aside their differences and work together. Since they are now loyal to the same man, he can resolve their disagreements in a way that both sides will have to accept.
For now, Emily and Enna will go to the elf village with Queen Sera and her guards. Leah, Alex, and Carla will stay behind to start organizing the amazon move.
"This is rather exciting, isn't it?" said Sera. "I never expected the amazons and elves to be working together like this, much less united under one ruler. I must say, it fills me with optimism for the future."
"I hope everyone gets along well enough," said Leah. "I'm also concerned there may not be enough prey for our hunters in that area."
"Actually, our farmers have reported a few nuisances feeding on their crops," said Sera. "It would be very helpful if you could hunt them for us."
"Oh, good. Hunting your nuisances should sustain us for a while at least. That should give our hunters time to become familiar with the land."
"Lily and Iris helped us find that big boar," said Emily. "Maybe Titus can get the fairies to help us hunt if we are struggling."
"Of course, the fairies may join us as well," said Sera. "If our three tribes can work together, I'm confident we will all prosper. I have no doubt King Titus will lead us well. He has already defied all my expectations."
After that, they all retired to their separate rooms for the night.
