Chapter 9: Applying to the Battlefield
Konoha Village.
The next day, the rain had stopped, and under the sunlight, Konoha was filled with vibrant life. A rainbow appeared over the village, bringing innocent and joyful smiles to many villagers and children. Even the passing shinobi couldn't help but smile at the sight of the beautiful rainbow in the bright sunlight.
"Congratulations, Mikoto! You're about to become a Special Jonin," said Uchiha Yosuke, smiling as he congratulated her upon returning to the village.
However, Uchiha Mikoto's eyes carried a hint of sadness and weight when she heard this.
"Grandfather's health isn't well. Although my Sharingan has only reached the two-tomoe stage, I must start taking on the family's responsibilities."
This simple statement revealed quite a lot of information: Elder Uchiha Setsuna was close to the end of his life. As his only bloodline descendant, Uchiha Mikoto would inherit his legacy.
"The Elder?" Uchiha Yosuke felt secretly pleased but kept a look of concern on his face.
Seeing his expression, Uchiha Mikoto smiled self-deprecatingly. "It's fine. It might actually be better if the old man leaves sooner. It would give the clan some peace."
They walked together toward the clan's territory, with Uchiha Yosuke contemplating the information he had just learned. Although Uchiha Mikoto becoming a Special Jonin was a bit of a stretch, her two-tomoe Sharingan and her youth made her a suitable candidate to inherit Elder Setsuna's hawkish faction. This support might be useful...
Suddenly, Uchiha Mikoto turned around and placed her delicate hands on his face, gazing deeply into his dark eyes.
"Yosuke!" At that moment, Uchiha Mikoto's expression became complex and solemn. "We don't have much time. Your Chunin appointment will soon be finalized, but try to awaken your Sharingan soon. I'll need you in the future!"
Hearing this, Uchiha Yosuke nodded firmly. "Don't worry, Mikoto. I'll definitely support you."
He thought to himself that he wouldn't let her expectations go unmet. With Elder Setsuna in poor health, Mikoto would be the one to inherit his influence, and she needed his help to strengthen her position. This was why she was eager for him to awaken his Sharingan as well.
As they reached the clan territory, they heard shocking news.
"Something happened to Nawaki, the First Hokage's grandson!"
Upon hearing this, both Uchiha Mikoto and Uchiha Yosuke were stunned. Mikoto was shocked because Nawaki was the only direct bloodline descendant of the First Hokage, while Uchiha Yosuke was surprised that even Tsunade, who had been aware of the situation, couldn't prevent this.

At the Memorial Stone.
Tsunade stood in a blue coat in front of a new gravestone, holding a necklace in her palm with a sorrowful expression, tears streaming down her face silently. Beneath the grief, a sense of killing intent simmered.
"Nawaki!"
A figure approached, footsteps crunching in the quiet. It was Uchiha Yosuke, who had just returned from a mission, looking exhausted. Without stopping to change, he hurried to the memorial with a bouquet of white chrysanthemums. Standing before Nawaki's grave, he bowed his head and spoke solemnly:
"I heard about it as soon as I got back this morning. Captain Tsunade, I thought…"
Before he could finish, Tsunade's sudden blow sent him flying several meters, scattering white chrysanthemums in the air. Tsunade's face was filled with rage as she glared at him.
"Cough, cough!"
Uchiha Yosuke slowly got up, wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, and silently picked up the fallen chrysanthemums. "Captain Tsunade, someone must be trying to create a rift between you and the village!"
Uchiha Yosuke's face was filled with disbelief as he looked at Tsunade, who was engulfed in grief. Couldn't even the powerful Senju clan protect Nawaki?
He had already leaked the information, yet Nawaki had still been killed! He didn't know if it was true or not, but he had to act as if it were real.
"Silence! You wicked Uchiha brat!" Tsunade snapped, her voice cold as she realized he was merely a pawn. "This information was personally sent by Elder Setsuna of your Uchiha clan!"
Her gaze was filled with furious tears as she glared at him.
Hearing this, Uchiha Yosuke's face turned pale, and his eyes flashed with determination.
"Captain Tsunade!" With resolute eyes, Uchiha Yo declared, "I, Uchiha Yosuke, a Genin, will personally eliminate the traitor of the village!"
"Silence!" Tsunade's sharp gaze silenced him instantly. "Remember the shinobi's code of secrecy!"
The words reverberated, warning Uchiha Yosuke to keep silent. He lowered his head in silence, feeling the weight of the situation.
Tsunade turned away from him and gazed at her brother's grave. Uchiha Yosuke placed the white chrysanthemums by the grave, bowing his head in silence.
Seeing this, Tsunade sighed inwardly. Although she felt a pang of guilt, Nawaki's situation was too sensitive to disclose.
Tsunade then told Uchiha Yosuke, "This information was planted by enemy spies."
With that, the matter was settled, and his information was dismissed as mere enemy trickery.
Hearing this, Uchiha Yosuke lowered his head even further, a hint of sorrow on his face.
"Is it because of the war?" Uchiha Yosuke's expression seemed to say that the truth couldn't be revealed for the sake of the village's stability.
Tsunade remained silent, as if in agreement.
In front of Nawaki's grave, neither was truly mourning him. After a long silence, Uchiha Yosuke clenched his fists, facing away from Tsunade, as if making a decision.
Under Tsunade's astonished gaze, he turned to her with determined eyes.
"Captain Tsunade, I, Uchiha Yosuke, hereby apply to fight on the Rain Country battlefield!"
At that moment, Uchiha Yosuke was prepared to head to the battlefield, intending to ensure that this information would be buried forever and that he would become a more valuable asset.
'Damn it! This single-minded Uchiha brat!' Tsunade was both frustrated and helpless.
Just then, Uchiha Yosuke's expression changed, and his body trembled in pain.
"Kid!" Tsunade, with her honed skills, instantly sensed that something was wrong with him.
'Not good!'
