Chapter 10: Awakening—Dual Bloodlines!
At the Senju clan's cemetery, in front of Nawaki's gravestone...
"Kid!" Tsunade frowned as she saw Uchiha Yosuke trembling, dark flames of cursed markings spreading from his neck. In a moment of intense pain and negative emotion, Yosuke's eyes filled with bloodshot veins, his gaze brimming with murderous intent.
"This isn't good!"
Tsunade realized something was wrong. This kid had awakened some kind of power, yet it didn't seem to be the Sharingan.
Gritting his teeth, Yosuke locked his gaze on Tsunade and finally let go, releasing the full force of this curse-marked power. Here was his chance—the foremost medical expert of the ninja world stood right in front of him. A true ninja had to be ruthless, even to themselves!
"What is this!?"
In her medical analysis, Tsunade quickly sensed that Yosuke's body was undergoing some kind of backlash, triggered by the awakening of an unfamiliar power. But he was an Uchiha! This wasn't the Sharingan—it was something else entirely.
"Commander Tsunade… Uchiha Yosuke requests deployment to the front lines!" Yosuke, wracked with pain, choked out his request. Veins pulsed visibly on his forehead and neck as he fought the intense backlash and the surge of negative emotions.
Under Tsunade's shocked gaze, a single black tomoe appeared in Yosuke's blood-red eyes. His Sharingan had awakened! It must have been the pain over Nawaki's fate and the turmoil between his clan and the village…
"Shut it, you Uchiha brat." Tsunade grunted, grabbing him by the arm and disappearing from the cemetery.

When Yosuke opened his eyes again, he found himself in a room filled with medical equipment. He glanced at the IV in his arm, the sound of dripping liquid breaking the silence.
"Where…am I?" Yosuke's voice was hoarse, his entire body feeling like every cell was on fire.
"Lucky for you, brat, you're not dead," Tsunade scoffed, looking up from a scroll.
"What…what happened to me?" Yosuke feigned confusion, and Tsunade's scowl deepened.
"Kid, you've managed to awaken not one, but two bloodlines."
Two bloodlines! Though rare, Tsunade knew that in the vast ninja world, such things weren't unheard of.
"Bloodlines?" Yosuke looked conflicted, as if grappling with the gravity of her words.
"Indeed," Tsunade sighed, irritated by the boy's intensity. "Awakening bloodlines can bring on a condition known as 'bloodline sickness,' especially when two powers conflict within a single body. Overuse can cause irreparable damage or even be lethal. In your case, it's the simultaneous awakening that's causing instability."
Tsunade's eyes sparked with a hint of intrigue—medical research like this was an irresistible opportunity.
"Your mindless stubbornness led to this mess, kid," Tsunade sneered, glancing at the IV bag. "There are only a handful people in the ninja world who can concoct a cellular stabilizing serum. This stuff is priceless."
Tsunade's voice echoed through the room, and Yosuke, now aware of the cost, weakly reached to remove the IV.
"Kid, what do you think you're doing?"
"I…I don't have that kind of money," Yosuke replied weakly, though there was a hidden resolve in his eyes.
"Trying to throw your life away, huh?" Tsunade scoffed, irritated by his resolve.
Tsunade finally understood the Uchiha's obsession. This kid, an outsider, had been so affected by Nawaki's death that he awakened his Sharingan, while she, the victim's sister, hadn't. But—this was classic Uchiha.
"Forget it. Nawaki's situation ends here, but I need you back in the Uchiha clan," Tsunade commanded.
Yosuke's expression brightened subtly. "Commander Tsunade, are you asking me to watch for traitors among the Uchiha?"
His single-tomoe Sharingan glared at her, reflecting the Uchiha's unyielding resolve.
Tsunade almost rolled her eyes. This kid had certainly gotten the wrong idea, but it suited her just fine—an extra set of eyes in the Uchiha clan was valuable. She kept quiet, and Yosuke's face took on a look of grim determination.
"For the village, Commander! I won't let anyone betray it!"
Tsunade sighed inwardly; she was beginning to understand what ancient records meant by "Uchiha stubbornness."
Yosuke felt relieved. He'd found someone strong to rely on—Tsunade. With her support, he felt confident he could master his new abilities over the coming years.
"Lie down. I need to study this other bloodline of yours."
Her tone suggested approval of his "mission," and Yosuke lay back, hiding his relief.
He'd won the gamble. Not only had he earned Tsunade's favor, but he'd also awakened his Sharingan. His natural talent had finally shone through. Even if the plan failed, he still had Mikoto as a fallback.
"Your dual bloodlines are incompatible, so reckless usage could be deadly."
Tsunade's matter-of-fact tone hung in the air as Yosuke silently listened, appearing lost in thought over Nawaki's fate. She sighed in frustration—reasoning with an Uchiha was nearly impossible.
"This unknown bloodline within you is causing a rejection reaction. As a protective measure, your body has encapsulated it as a curse mark at the base of your neck…"
As Tsunade spoke of the rare bloodline traits, a gleam of scientific interest shone in her eyes. For her, as the top medical ninja, this was an invaluable case study.
