Chapter 11
**Chapter 11: Driven by the Need to Progress**
*Location: Konoha, Senju Clan, Tsunade's Medical Research Lab*
"Kid, how does this bloodline feel to you?"
"Hot! I feel a burning sensation, and there's pain."
In the research lab, Tsunade examined this unknown field seriously, while Uchiha Yosuke obediently answered every question.
"That's enough. Stop it now; your cells are already starting to deteriorate!"
At Tsunade's command, Uchiha Yosuke frowned as the black flame curse mark on his face and half his body gradually faded away. Tsunade's eyes sparkled at the sight.
"Pain! I feel every cell in my body hurting as this bloodline fades."
Hearing this, Tsunade smirked slightly.
"Your bloodline is causing rejection in your body. Every time you use it, it'll corrode you a little more. While it's a slow process, once it fully corrodes, you'll lose control of yourself. Of course, that also depends on luck."
Having completed her examination, Tsunade calmly sat on a nearby chair.
"As it corrodes, your body will also adapt to this new bloodline. If you don't overuse it, and with the help of medication, I estimate this bloodline disease will stabilize in five or six years…"
Listening to her professional analysis, Uchiha Yosuke nodded respectfully.
In Tsunade's view as a top medical ninja, Uchiha Yosuke's condition was already considered a form of bloodline disease.
"Thank you, Captain Tsunade."
After the last drop of IV solution entered his body, Uchiha Yosuke finally removed the needle. Tsunade noted this action, and despite some weakness, he got up from the bed.
"Kid, here's your bill."
At that moment, Tsunade tossed him a bill, and Yosuke looked at it with widened eyes, blurting out in shock:
"Three hundred thousand Ryo!?"
Uchiha Yosuke's eyes widened. He knew the cellular stabilizing agent wasn't cheap, but this much! Tsunade only chuckled coldly in response.
"Three hundred thousand Ryo too high? This is a specially formulated treatment unique to you, requiring precise doses and regular monitoring. You know how much was used just examining your body?"
Seeing Uchiha Yosuke stunned, Tsunade's eyes flashed with amusement—she'd finally scared him into some sense.
"For the sake of the village, I'll help with the medications."
But before she even finished, Yosuke solemnly replied,
"Captain Tsunade, I'll repay it."
The determination in his eyes surprised Tsunade. Then again, this stubborn pride was pure Uchiha.
Left in silence, Yosuke bowed deeply.
"Apologies, Captain Tsunade."
With a respectful bow, Yosuke moved to leave, only for Tsunade to toss him a scroll without looking up.
"This is the research report on your new bloodline."
"Thank you, Captain Tsunade."
After another respectful bow, Yosuke left. When the door closed behind him, Tsunade finally relaxed. She crossed her long, slender legs, revealing her red-painted toenails in her black heels. Sitting quietly, Tsunade's sorrow over Nawaki seemed to fade, replaced by fatigue.
"Uchiha kid…and the one in the shadows…"
She glanced toward the Hokage Rock with a look of frustration.
"Has the Senju Clan truly become something to fear?"
---
*Location: Uchiha Clan Grounds*
"Yosuke, you've awakened your Sharingan!"
Upon his return, Yosuke informed Uchiha Mikoto immediately. Her initial shock quickly turned into a radiant smile.
"Yosuke, I knew it. You had the talent all along!"
Seeing Mikoto's joyful expression warmed Yosuke's heart. In this world, she and the Uchiha Clan were perhaps the only ones genuinely happy for his awakening.
"Mikoto, there's more to it. Here's Captain Tsunade's report. This time…"
He recounted the events honestly, even mentioning the dual bloodlines.
The Uchiha name left him with no choice but to rely on his clan. The Uchiha could offer him things the Hokage never would. Besides, revealing his potential and strength to his clan meant he'd receive the resources he needed.
"I need to progress."
"Dual bloodlines!"
After hearing his story and reading Tsunade's report, Mikoto's eyes filled with excitement.
"Yosuke!"
Holding the report, Mikoto's joy turned serious.
"Do you want me to present this to the elders or the clan head?"
The clan head leaned toward peace, while the elder, Setsuna, had rebelled before—an outright hawk.
Yosuke understood her concern. Smiling, he replied,
"Mikoto, haven't you been waiting for my Sharingan to awaken?"
They exchanged a look, and Mikoto smiled sincerely.
As the sole blood relative of Elder Setsuna and his successor, Mikoto held significant influence. Though Yosuke wasn't naive—he chose to side with the hawks because the Uchiha name left him no real alternative.
Most Uchihas who awakened their Sharingan were naturally hawkish.
With Mikoto by his side, he thought, 'I need to improve!'
