Chapter 7 - Chapter 7- Interview

"Eunice, what the heck am I hearing on the news? Are you really going to have an exclusive interview on Channel One?!" Abigail rushed into the dressing room. "Yeah, you heard right." Eunice affirmed while checking out her outfit in the full-length mirror.

Damien, who was standing at the side, rolled his eyes as he scoffed at Abigail in disdain. "Look who finally decided to show up."

"There was a lot of traffic on the way!." Abigail turned defensive. "Guys, can you not right now?" Eunice wasn't in the mood for their petty bickering. "But are you actually being serious, though?" Abigail turned her attention back to Eunice with deep-rooted concern in her eyes. "Yes, I am! Can't you guys just trust me?" She was really hoping they would get behind her and support her, but their disapproving gazes made her anxious.

"Hey, we do trust you. We just don't want to see you get hurt anymore."

"I have to agree with her. You mean a lot to us. We just can't bear to see you in pain." They walked up to her, the earlier tension between them replaced by mutual care and comfort.

"You guys..." Eunice almost teared up. She locked them both in a tight embrace. When she had lost everything and moved to Europe back then, these two had left everything to stay with her abroad, and now they were here with her as well. She was indebted to both of them and owed everything to these two. It was truly a blessing to have friends like these. "As long as I have you two by my side, I'll be alright, okay? So don't stop looking out for me, hmm?" The hug quickly turned into a playful choke hold as Eunice had trapped them both with each arm. "Argh!, get off. You're hurting me. And besides that dress is hideous!" Damien tried to pull away.

"As for me, I don't care if we're live or not in that studio. If that bish decides to pull off anything nasty, I'll run up there and RKO her neck!" Abigail violently imitated a famous entertainment's wrestler's signature move. "Haha!" Eunice laughed uncontrollably. She tried a few more clothes before selecting the one that suited her the most. After she had paid for the clothes, the trio went on a shopping spree before heading out.

On the day of the interview, the whole country was astir. Channel One had recently posted a statement that they would be having an exclusive interview with Eunice Parker at 8pm.

It seemed Eunice was just trying to make it into headlines constantly.

Eunice had reached the studio by 7:25 pm. Everyone at the station couldn't help but stare at her the moment she walked in. Her appearance was breathtaking. The red gown she wore cascaded down to her ankles. It accentuated her slender figure and showed off her subtle curves. Her dark brown hair was tied up in a neat bun, exposing her pale, silky, soft neck. She gave off the aura of a goddess from the stars. Abigail and Damien followed right behind, satisfied with the reaction of the staff. Eunice came here to slay and was doing just that. One person, though, was not pleased. Elanor stared coldly at her. She had just come out from hair and makeup looking all dolled up.

Just as she had done all those years ago, she was determined to embarrass Eunice live on camera, but the aura Eunice gave off currently was imposing. She had a feeling her plan might not be able to work so easily this time.

"Miss Parker, you're here early?" Elanor changed her hostile expression and smiled at Eunice fondly. "Hmm, may I go through my script now." She ignored the pleasantries and moved straight to business. "Yes, of course." She replied to Eunice and then turned to one of the members of the crew. "Get Miss Eunice her script."

Eunice skimmed through the script when it was handed over to her. "These are the questions I would be asking you. There are already some scripted answers, but you can choose to answer however you want."

There was nothing offensive or distasteful in the script. Questions on it were mainly centred around her new career and company. She was really hoping that this was actually the case or she might have to...

She smirked. This night promised to be very exciting. She gave a thumbs up to Abigail and Damien, who were staring down the crew members. They nodded in response. After a while, the manager came over to greet her. He gave her flattering words, trying to suck up to her. She smiled politely and gave him curt, but polite answers very soon it was time to go live. Eunice took a deep breath and walked up to the stage. She sat sown while hair and makeup came to touch up her makeup a bit. Her skin was bright and flawless, so they didn't have to do much. She winked at Abigail and Damien, who were nervously standing behind the cameras. Elanor did a last-minute sound check. She hid her annoyed expression behind a smile. There's no worry. I did it back, and then I can do it again. Just you wait, Eunice Parker, I'm going to make you the laughingstock of Country C once more!"

"And we're live in three, two, one and action!" The cameras began to roll. "Good evening, Contry C it's me, Elanor, and I'm here with Miss Eunice Parker. The woman on everyone's lips lately. You're welcome, Miss Eunice, and thank you for accepting our invitation." The show began with thousands already streaming in. "Thank you, Miss Elanor. It's a pleasure being here."

"It is, isn't it? So Miss Eunice, how have you been doing all these years?" The first question was thrown at her. " I've been good, very good. It's been a while since I left the acting scene, but I don't regret it." She answered the questions elegantly.

The next few questions were as scripted, and the interview was progressing smoothly. "Well, Miss Eunice, you've certainly made a name for yourself both locally and internationally. But the question on everyone's mind is why exactly you left the country and quit acting in the first place? I mean, after your divorce, you could have still stayed behind and pursued your career." Elanor went off script.
