"Are you sure you're alright?" Henry had been anxious ever since the clash between Eunice and Marcus earlier. Even on their way back to her apartment at 'The Aurora Heights', Henry could only feel extremely tense. "I'm perfectly alright, don't worry about me." Eunice shrugged off Henry's hands from her shoulders and assured him calmly that everything was alright. He continued to walk her up all the way to her apartment. Before Henry could say anything else, she quickly unlocked the door, and with a quick goodnight, she closed the door behind her. Henry laughed at himself inwardly. It had been over 5 years since her divorce, but all this time, she had never opened herself up to him. He sighed and left the estates extremely down and heartbroken...
...Eunice stood in the shower for an abnormally long time. She stood there in a complete daze as the cool water droplets ran down her body. Her heart was pounding in her chest as various memories started flooding in. She had no idea seeing Marcus after so long would put her in such a frenzied state. Was 5 years not enough to erase all the pain and anger in her heart. She bit her lip so hard that blood began to drop on the wet tiled floor. "Hah!" She scoffed, she cleaned herself up, and put on a robe. The moment she stepped out of the bathroom, she headed straight for her desk and took out some pills from the drawer. She put a few into her mouth and gulped it down with a glass of water. The anxiety pills began to take effect, and she felt calmer. She picked up the phone and dialled a number. "Hey, Abi, where are you. Do you want to come over to my place?" She put the phone on speaker as she searched through her drawers for her pj's. "Oh, I wish I could, but I'm not at home right now." Abigail's voice came out in a wisper through the other side of the phone. "Um, am I interrupting something?" Eunice asked in a suggestive tone. "Hey, it's not what you're thinking!" Abigail took a peek at the man sitting elegantly on the bed skimming through some documents. She blushed profusely and cleared her throat. "Are you alright though, did something happen?" She spoke into the phone again. This time, her voice carried a hint of concern. "I'll tell you tomorrow at work. Sorry for interrupting, bye!" Eunice quickly hung up the call. "Hey -"Abigail was cut off.
Eunice just stared at the phone for a long time before finally heading to bed.
The next day...
"We have successfully launched the new line of makeup products. These are the files you requested, as well as the list of celebrities that pre- ordered for them."
Eunice eagerly received the files from her personal assistant, Damien, and scrutinised them. She was shell-shocked when she saw the number of people who had preordered in a matter of days. She sat upright and skimmed through the list of over 3 pages. They had released a teaser of the ad online, who knew it would get so much attention and draw so many celebrities so soon. "Get me James from the PR department right away. The moment he left, Abigail strutted right in. "Hey, what's up?"
"Take a seat." She instructed while waiting for James's arrival. When they were both present, she delivered the agenda.
"It seems the new campaign is generating more publicity than I anticipated, so here's what we're gonna do. She switched to boss mode. "Abigail, please make the first 100 people on the list VIPs and send them the first batch of the products as well as complementary goods. James, contact Bureau Advertisements and hire a few billboards around the capital, use the best photos from the shoot to advertise the products. It will surely generate more buzz among people to attract new customers." She fired these instructions eager to enlarge the market base of her company.
"Yes, boss!" Both Abigail and James quickly left to carry out their missions as quickly as possible.
Online, there was a lot of discussion.
"Anyone at Donner Street? Am I dreaming, or is Eunice Parker on a billboard for a makeup ad?"
"Yes, I saw it too! Is she making a comeback?"
"Poster above, it's her company, Just Beauty Co. They recently released some new products and she was the model for the advertisement."
"What no way there's one at Mccarthy Lane! Gosh, I forgot how pretty she was!"
"Yeah, I was a big fan back then!"
The news dominated the Internet and searches. Eunice Parker was back after 5 long years! Would she ever come back to the acting scene?
Within a matter of hours the Company began to receive many calls and requests. The whole office was busy with work and production was sped up in order to met with demands of the customers. By the end of the day they had received thousands of offers from all around the country.
To thank the entire staff for their hard work, Eunice took them all out to a company dinner at a very well known restaurant. "Wooh!" "Haha!" Laughter and joy filled the air as food, wine and beer flowed in abundance. Eunice smiled in contentment, they had all done so well. Many had to leave their lives abroad to follow her back to Country C to work. She was greatful to them all. "Seeing Eunice was strangely quiet Abigail dragged her away to talk.
