Andrea Leno
The next time I woke up I was in my bed at home. I feel like I can vaguely remember Henry carrying my inside and my dad taking me upstairs but I can't recall specifically.
I pulled the covers off of myself and tried to get out of bed. The moment I put my weight onto my ankle I collapsed from the pain. I channeled my now refilled demonic energy into my ankle and the pain went away and I managed to stand up.
I went downstairs where my family was watching TV. "Well well, looks like lovergirl is finally up." Kevin laughed from across the room as I was about half way down the stairs.. Confused, I asked "What do you mean by that?"
My question only made him laugh even more, tears beginning to form at the corners of his eyes. "You don't remember yesterday? When your boyfriend dropped you off? I tried my best but I couldn't remember anything. "What happened?" After taking a minute to calm down Kevin began to explain what had happened yesterday when Henry brought me home.

Andrea slept the entire ride back to her house. Between the date and hurting herself she must've been quite tired. I turned the radio down real quiet so she could sleep in peace. After a few hours we finally arrived at her house. I couldn't decide whether or not to wake her up so I decided against it.
I got out of the car and walked around to her side where I got her out of the car and carried her princess style all the way to her front door. I wasn't sure if there would be anyone home as it was still only around 5 in the afternoon and I didn't know her family's schedules, but I rang the doorbell and waited. A few minutes later I heard footsteps and someone coming to the front door. I heard a few locks click and the front door creaked open.
I felt nervous, this was the first time I was meeting her father. I needed to make a good first impression. I steeled my nerves and took a deep breath, here goes nothing. An older man, presumably Andreas' father appeared on the other side of the doorway.
He looked at me and then down to Andrea in my arms and scowled. "Who are you and what happened to my daughter?" He sounded both angry and worried and his presence suddenly got a whole lot scarier. Out of instinct I channeled my spiritual energy and stanced myself up to fight but quickly composed myself.
I straightened my posture the best I could, looked him straight in the eyes, and spoke. "Hello Mr. Leno. My name is Henry Esprit, I am Andreas' boyfriend. We were on a date where she badly hurt her ankle. She fell asleep on the way back and I didn't want to wake her up so I carried her up here." I tried to speak as clearly as I could, but it would be lying to say I wasn't intimidated.
I could see his scowl deepen at the word 'boyfriend'. I guess Andrea hadn't told him yet. The expression on his face softened and he spoke again. "I see, thank you for taking care of her."
He made no mention of my being her boyfriend but I could still see the skepticism in his eyes. He reached to take her from my arms but as he tried to Andrea started speaking in her sleep. "Nm, Henry." She grabbed my shirt as her father tried to take her and held on tight.
I could hear a muffled laugh from inside the house and a guy who I assumed to be Andreas' older brother covering his mouth, trying to hide his laughter. I was a little embarrassed but tried not to show it. After a few moments she let go and her father completely took her in his arms.
"Once again, thank you for looking after my daughter. I'll make sure she thanks you when she wakes up, goodbye.
Great. I don't know how good of a first impression that was, I can't tell what he thinks of me. I didn't want to loiter so I just got back in my car and went home.
***Back To Present***

Oh god. Henry met dad, and I was asleep. I grabbed him, in front of my family. I felt my face flush up and I lost control over my demonic energy, causing my ankle to erupt in immense pain and making me fall the rest of the way down the stairs. This only made my brother laugh even harder, I'm definitely going to kill him later.
I regained control over my demonic energy and poured it back into my ankle and got back up. I walked over and joined my family on the couch. "Did anything else happen?" I asked anxiously, "Not really." Kevin responded."
Dad took you up to your bed and mom rewrapped your wound. How'd that happen anyways? That guy said you were on a date." "His name is Henry, not 'that guy'". I snapped back. This only made Kevins smirk grow bigger. "Oh, really?"
"That's enough." My father, who had been silently watching our conversation, suddenly interjected. He looked at me seriously and asked "While I am curious about the whole boyfriend situation. Right now I am more curious about what happened for you to come home injured like that on a date."
I nodded and explained what had happened yesterday, from how while I was on my date with Henry I sensed the presence of demons, to the Benner family's appearance and then taking me back to Henry
"I see." My father nodded and stroked his beard, seemingly deep in thought. He suddenly looked up at me and started speaking again. "While it's a good thing that you dealt with the demons when you sensed them, you should've taken more time to prepare for and scout out the situation. You should've been able to at least sense that the average demons were hiding. Don't be in such a rush to get back to your date."
I could see the seriousness in his eyes. "Yes sir, sorry." "There's no need to apologize, just be more aware. I've told you this before, you are far too confident in your own abilities."
I couldn't retort. I knew I had been too confident. I mean I took a plastic fork to deal with demons, that's like the very definition of arrogance. "I'll send a message to the Benner family to thank them." I nodded.
*CLAP* My mom suddenly clapped her hands and had a suspicious smile on her face. "Now, onto more important topics. Tell us about your boyfriend." Uh oh. I had hoped they would forget about that during the conversation but of course my mother had to remember.
"Uhh, what do you want to know?" I asked. "Everything" She said. "Like w-" "Everything." Everything it was. Before I knew it, all three of them were staring at me and waiting. Even my dad seemed super interested in the subject.
"Well, you saw him yesterday. We go to school together and are in the same AP Psychology class. I've known him for a little over a year now and we've been dating for a couple of weeks. We've been on a few dates and uh…" A mischievous glint appeared in my moms eyes. "Invite him over."
"Uhhh, hes probably busy." "Invite him over. We need to thank him." This time it was my father who spoke and the next thing I knew I was calling Henry. Please don't pick, I can't believe i'm saying this but please don't pick up.
*Ring Ring Ring Click* "Hello? Andrea?" Henry's voice sounded from the phone. "Hey Henry. Are you busy today? My parents were wondering if you wanted to come over so they could thank you for bringing me home yesterday and so they could fully meet you."
It sounded like he took a few moments to think it over before responding. "Yeah, I can come over. It'll be in a few hours when I finish what I'm doing but I can be over later."
I could see my mom smiling out of the corner of my eye, she was planning something. "Great, I'll see you later." *Click* I hung up the call and my mom and dad both stood up. My dad spoke first
"Kevin, you're gonna help me clean the house." Mom spoke next. "Andrea, you come with me to the store to get stuff for dinner. We gotta make something special for your boyfriend tonight."
I don't understand how they are always on the same wavelength. Is it something that happens when you've been together for a long time? I hope Henry and I can reach that level one day.
Unable to refuse, I went back upstairs to change clothes and head to the store with my mother. I could hear my brother and father rapidly cleaning downstairs, their demonic energy permeating the air. They were going all out in the cleaning. Tonight was gonna be rough.
