Seeing Kai bouncing excitedly at the sight of the windmills, Jett felt utterly embarrassed. He said:
"You're not a kid, you know. You're my captain, and when you act like this, it's really embarrassing for me."
Kai laughed and replied:
"Ha ha, does it matter? I like it, so I'll play. Whoever tries to stop me, I'll beat them up."
Hearing this, Jett's face darkened, and he said:
"Oh, so if I stop you, you'll beat me up, right?"
"Of course! Even if I can't beat you now, I'm not afraid of you."
"Fine, do whatever you want. We can slowly make our way toward the residential area."
Indulging the captain seemed to be the only choice, Jett thought to himself:
"Why do I feel like I'm babysitting? Though he doesn't need my care, why am I doing so much? Maybe I just overthink things, which gives me more to do. If I were more like Kai, I'd probably never feel bad."
But thinking like Kai was hard like go to the heaven. There were planes in this world, but people like Kai were exceedingly rare.
Watching Kai dash off toward the windmill, Jett reluctantly followed behind. Although this captain was unreliable now, Jett believed he would be very strong in the future.
At least, based on his experience watching movies and reading stories, Jett was confident in this judgment.
Even without relying on external power, Quake was not an ordinary curse.
As they approached the windmill, Jett watched to see what his captain was planning to do. A few seconds later, the corner of his mouth twitched.
"What the hell is this idiot doing? He's hanging onto the blades of the windmill like it's some kind of swing? Damn it, with that kind of speed, if he falls, won't he just die?" he cursed under his breath.
The windmill was incredibly tall, and it spun fast. A normal person, if lifted high and then dropped, would likely not survive.
Although Kai had super recovery, his strength was only at a level of 2—not much different from a regular person. There was a real possibility he could fall and die.
Holding tightly to the blade of the windmill and watching the unsteady scenery (due to his movement), he laughed heartily:
"Ha ha ha, this is actually pretty fun!"
After spinning around a few times, Kai suddenly realized a problem and muttered:
"Feeling a bit dizzy now... but how do I get down from here?"
Getting up was fun, but he had no idea how to get down. He could wait for it to stop, but who knew when that would be?
Just then, a man walked over and shouted:
"Get down from there! What are you doing up there, causing trouble?"
Ordinarily, someone would tell Kai to come down because it was dangerous.
But since the man heard Kai laughing, he assumed Kai was just messing around with the windmill and that it wasn't anything risky.
When Kai saw he was now relatively close to the ground, he let go and jumped down.
"Ouch!"
He yelped in pain from a twisted ankle, but soon after, he quickly recovered and stood back up as if nothing had happened.
Looking over at the man, he said:
"I'm a pirate. I do whatever I want. You think you can control me?"
Kai didn't feel particularly annoyed, he just felt like responding to the man's scolding.
"Pi... pirate?" the man stammered, clearly doubtful.
He couldn't believe these two scrawny-looking kids could actually be pirates.
"Are you mocking pirates? Look at yourself. What part of you resembles a pirate? You're obviously as weak as a twig."
Jett hadn't drawn much of his attention, but Kai was undeniably skinny.
Even though Kai had bulked up a bit and his body's strength had increased considerably, he couldn't bulk up overnight.
Jett, on the other hand, was quite muscular and well-proportioned, though his clothes made it hard to notice at first glance.
Unable to hold it in any longer, Jett burst out laughing:
"Pffft, ha ha ha ha! Captain, you're a disgrace to pirates! Just make me captain instead and spare us the embarrassment."
Ignoring Jett's mockery, Kai looked at the man with a smile and said,
"I feel like punching you."
"A skinny kid like you?" the man sneered, clearly underestimating him.
After all, with his tall, sturdy build, he couldn't imagine losing to some scrawny guy.
Without caring whether the man was prepared or not, Kai rushed forward and punched him squarely in the face.
Thud!
The man's face collided hard with Kai's fist, sending him sprawling backward as blood poured from his nose.
His eyes rolled back, likely knocked out from the impact, his head spinning.
Thud!
The man collapsed to the ground, and Kai frowned in disappointment.
"What? So weak? One punch and he's already out cold."
At this point, Jett came over, cursing:
"Damn it! Do you think everyone has that absurd super recovery of yours? If it weren't for that, you'd be knocked out by me more than a few times."
Observing the man for a moment, Jett thought:
"Also a strength level of 2, huh? Guess this is what normal people are like. Not everyone has Kai's over-the-top skill. But that's fine—with it, Kai can handle getting beat up by me for a lot longer."
A wicked smile spread across Jett's face as he looked at Kai, making him jump.
"What now? He's planning to keep beating me up? Has he gotten addicted to it?" Kai wondered.
But he quickly brushed it off and said:
"Let's head to a busier area and check things out."
They followed the path for a while until a figure appeared ahead of them.
It was a young woman with stunning beauty—golden hair and sky-blue eyes. She wore an outfit that looked quite aristocratic, primarily white and golden.
It wasn't a dress but rather a knightly style, although not quite armor. At her waist was a sword that matched her attire, looking even more exquisite than her outfit.
Both of them were taken aback at the sight of her. Jett seemed smitten at first glance, while Kai's reaction was entirely different.
Kai's only thought was: That sword is no ordinary weapon.
He didn't care whether she was beautiful or not, but he couldn't deny he found her intriguing.
Glancing over, he saw that Jett looked as though his soul had been stolen by her.
Thud!
Kai smacked Jett hard on the head, snapping him out of his daze.
