Slap!!!
A smack to the back of the neck startled Jett, though it didn't really hurt. Physically, he was twice as strong as Kai, after all.
"You jerk, what the heck are you doing? Why'd you suddenly hit me?" Jett said, displeased.
It was the first time he'd seen such a beautiful woman, the first time he'd felt his heart move for someone.
And in that perfect moment, this crazy captain shattered it with a single slap.
"And you have the nerve to ask? Your soul is about to leave your body and follow her." Kai cursed.
Sure, Jett could do whatever he liked, but he was still Kai's first crew member.
Kai hadn't even gotten a few days' fun out of him yet—no way he'd let Jett go off chasing love so easily.
If Jett really wanted to leave, he'd at least have to fight Kai to prove himself. Otherwise, he could forget about running away.
But maybe Jett didn't need to go anywhere because, as it happened, Kai was also interested in her.
The girl, hearing the commotion behind her, turned around to see what was going on. She thought to herself:
"Hmm, is that a water jug? Why would anyone carry one that big?"
A bit curious, she walked toward them. She didn't have anything to fear, after all.
These two were like chickens—not capable of harming her in the slightest.
Yes, she was indeed looking down on their strength.
As she drew closer, Jett's face turned bright red, steam practically rising from his head as if he'd been boiled.
Kai's mouth twitched, but he shrugged it off. It didn't interfere much with his plans for fun anyway.
He was interested in her, too, so he walked toward her with an arrogant stance that made people want to punch him.
For no particular reason—he just liked approaching like that. Smiling, he asked:
"Would you like to have some fun with me?"
The girl tilted her head, her face showing slight confusion, though she didn't stop walking.
Jett, meanwhile, was completely frozen, his brain shutting down. He wanted to curse but held back for the sake of his image, grumbling inwardly:
"Damn it, you bastard! Even if you're the captain, if you try anything with her, I'll risk my life to stop you."
Done! It was as if Jett's soul had been stolen, unless she turned out different from what he imagined. Otherwise, he was trapped for life.
By then, she was standing right in front of Kai, smiling as she said:
"Oh, really? You want to have some fun?"
"Exactly, come with me." Kai nodded, replying.
Swish!
"Aaaah!"
Kai cried out in pain as a deep slash opened across his chest, nearly reaching his heart.
Blood flowed endlessly from the wound, and he was left dazed, not quite understanding why he'd been attacked.
Jett went pale, thinking:
"Damn, why is she so brutal? Wait, I'm missing the point here. Her movement was incredibly fast—just how strong is she?"
"Hệ thống, show me her strength." he commanded.
[Strength: 33]
Gulp.
Jett instinctively swallowed, his face revealing a mix of fear and dread. He thought:
"I'm doomed. Is that one going to get me killed with Kai today? I've only been back alive for two days. Ugh, why is my luck so terrible?"
He silently recited a eulogy for himself, feeling that if he survived today, it would truly be a miracle.
Kai's words earlier had certainly been misleading, but it looked like there would be no chance to explain now.
She brought the edge of her sword to Kai's neck, narrowing her eyes with a smile as she said:
"So? Still lusting after my body?"
This wasn't her first time encountering this situation. She had killed quite a few people for similar transgressions.
After all, in this world, the law was fair—everyone had the right to judge those who dared to disrespect them.
Of course, the prerequisite was having enough strength to kill the opponent. Otherwise, it wouldn't be surprising if one ended up dead instead.
Meanwhile, Kai's wound was gradually healing, but he was visibly growing thinner.
This was super-recovery, not unlimited strength. To heal, energy was required, and that energy naturally drew from the body's reserves.
Once those reserves were exhausted, the body began to burn through muscle and fat to speed up recovery, which was why Kai was quickly slimming down.
The consequence was that he would be weaker afterward, but at least he wouldn't die from blood loss.
Typically, his training aboard the ship involved constant eating to replenish his energy.
Hearing her words, Kai felt bewildered and said:
"What do you mean, lusting after your body? I'm a pirate! I wanted to invite you to join my crew. Together, we'll shake this world to its core."
His words weren't very steady, he'd say a few words, then stop to catch his breath.
Seeing this, she was slightly surprised, but so what if it was a misunderstanding?
She liked killing whomever she pleased. At worst, she'd just become a wanted criminal, hunted down by the navy.
"You think you have the qualifications to recruit me as a subordinate?" she smirked, narrowing her eyes.
Suddenly, the atmosphere shifted. An invisible pressure filled the air, unleashing a soul attack on the two of them.
Jett nearly collapsed, his face showing sheer terror. He thought:
"Damn it, why does my head hurt so much? What's this? Pressure? Damn, I need the system's help."
"System Papa, I'm just a rookie here. Help me out a bit."
The system didn't respond, but suddenly, Jett felt the pressure lift, allowing him to stand upright again.
Naturally, this caught her attention, and she was a bit surprised. Just as she was about to say something, she sensed something unusual.
"Hahaha, a soul attack, huh? I can do that too!" Kai laughed maniacally, his eyes blazing.
An invisible force surged from him, clashing against her. The space between them started to distort.
A look of interest appeared on her face—not tension, but genuine intrigue. She thought:
"Hahaha, good. Very good. I've finally found an interesting companion."
She increased the pressure on Kai, and the two of them continued to clash, much to Jett's astonishment.
"What the hell is this? Since when did Kai have this kind of power? Could it be a curse? No, that doesn't make sense—she has a similar ability. Judging by the situation, her pressure seems to be gradually overpowering Kai's."
Suddenly, Kai's pressure vanished as he lost consciousness. It wasn't intentional, but that technique drained his energy continuously.
His body needed to retain a certain amount of energy to stay alive and heal, so unconsciousness was inevitable.
