"Thank you," Lionel said to the maids, making one of them blush slightly before he entered the room.
He didn't dwell on it too much, but to his mild irritation, his room was right next to Evelyn's. How annoying. She'd been trying to get under his skin lately, but he kept his composure—calm, cool, and unbothered.
As Lionel stepped inside, he glanced around the space. The room was cozy, furnished with a bed at the far end, a bedside table, and a standing mirror. It was simple but comfortable.
He walked to the bed and sat down, feeling the soft foam sink under his weight. A wave of relief washed over him.
'This is nice…' He slowly reclined, letting his whole body relax into the mattress.
"When was the last time I slept on a soft bed?" he murmured, sinking further into the comfort.
After a moment, Lionel glanced at the storage ring on his finger and accessed its contents.
