Days turned into weeks, and Jay found himself increasingly drawn to Erin. He couldn't shake the feeling that he wanted to get closer to him, to know him better. Every time their eyes met in class, a spark ignited within him, a feeling he had never experienced before.
One afternoon, after school, Jay saw Erin standing alone by the library. He hesitated for a moment, unsure if he should approach him, but he couldn't resist the urge.
"Hey, Erin," Jay said, his voice a bit shaky.
Erin turned around, his eyes widening in surprise. "Oh, hey Jay. What's up?"
"Nothing much, just... I wanted to ask you something," Jay stammered.
"Yeah, sure. What is it?" Erin replied, his voice soft and gentle.
"I was wondering if you... maybe wanted to hang out sometime? Just you and me," Jay said, his cheeks flushing red.
Erin's eyes widened even further. He looked down at his feet, a slight blush creeping up his neck. "I... I don't know. I'm not really used to hanging out with guys."
"It's okay if you don't want to," Jay said, feeling a pang of disappointment. "But I really want to get to know you better."
Erin looked up at Jay, his blue eyes filled with a mixture of curiosity and apprehension. "Okay," he said softly. "Maybe we could hang out this weekend. Just... just the two of us."
Jay's heart leaped with joy. "Really? That would be great! I'll pick you up at your place on Saturday afternoon."
Erin nodded, a shy smile playing on his lips. "Okay. See you then."
