Jay couldn't wait to call Erin. He had been replaying their date in his mind over and over, and he couldn't stop smiling. He felt like he was living in a dream.
He finally worked up the courage to dial Erin's number, his heart pounding in his chest. He was so nervous, but he couldn't help but feel excited at the same time.
Erin answered the phone, his voice soft and gentle. "Hey, Jay," he said.
"Hey, Erin," Jay replied, trying to sound cool and collected, but his voice came out a little shaky. "I had a really good time the other day. I was wondering if you wanted to hang out again sometime."
"Yeah, I had a good time too," Erin said. "I'd love to hang out again. How about tomorrow? We could go to the ice cream shop downtown."
"Sounds great," Jay said, his heart leaping with joy. "I'll pick you up at your place around 2 o'clock."
The next day, Jay was even more nervous than he had been on their first date. He had been thinking about Erin all day, and he couldn't wait to see him again.
When he arrived at Erin's house, Erin was waiting for him on the porch. He was wearing a bright blue t-shirt and jeans, and he looked even more handsome than Jay remembered.
"Hey," Erin said, his smile lighting up his face.
"Hey," Jay replied, feeling a surge of excitement.
They drove to the ice cream shop, which was bustling with people on a warm summer afternoon. They ordered their favorite flavors, and Jay couldn't help but feel a little awkward as they sat down at a table, enjoying their ice cream.
"So, what do you like to do for fun?" Erin asked, his blue eyes sparkling with curiosity.
"Well, I like to play soccer, hang out with my friends, and watch movies," Jay said. "What about you?"
"I like to draw, read, and listen to music," Erin replied. "I also like to write poetry sometimes."
Jay was surprised. He had never met anyone who liked to write poetry before. He felt a sudden urge to know more about Erin, to understand him better.
As they talked, Jay felt a growing sense of connection with Erin. He felt like he could tell him anything, and he felt like Erin understood him in a way that no one else ever had.
