I really should have payed more attention to Voyager. It's like eight years since I watched the series.
At least I know more or less when I am.
Kes is still here and they just took out some kind of Cardassian super weapon and we had to evacuate the ship. That was frightening and those escapepods are cramped as hell.
That was about a week ago and I'm currently trying to catch up with history. They gave me basic computer access so I can learn the things I need. The Doctor also volunteered to help teach me when needed.
Honestly, this place is weird. Everything is so...clean. There is no clutter, the ship look new. I haven't seen anyone clean yet either...need to remember to ask somebody about that.
Shaking my head I try and focus back on my PAD on my reading. The history of The Federation is interesting enough but currently I am a bit distracted by the fact that sooner or later I'm going to get killed or worse by some slobbering alien.
This place is NOT safe. I like safe.
Also while the crew are friendly enough they tend to treat me like I'm from some kind of backwards prewarp planet.
Ok, its true, but its still annoying.
Even more annoying is Tom Paris who want to talk old TV shows and cars with me. I don't give a flying fuck about cars and I didn't really watch much TV.
I give it up for now I put the PDA away in my pocket before getting up and walking down to the messhall. I'm just glad I managed to convince the replicator to give me pants with pockets instead of one of those damn jumpsuits.
Walking inside I give Neelix a small wave "Morning Neelix. What's good today?"
He grin widely and start to scoop up something brown into a bowl "Malaxian root stew with Kever meat. Very nutritious."
Nodding I take the bowl before giving it a small taste with the offered spoon. It taste somewhat like a stronger Goulash but thicker.
"Not bad." I comment before grabbing a bread and walking over to sit at a corner table.
Honestly, from the show I thought I would hate his guts for being so annoying, but Neelix is a ok guy. We get along decently.
And his cooking isn't THAT bad. The Fed's are spoiled by replicators.
For someone used to student cooking, its more than eatable.
I glance at the kitchen while dipping the bread in my stew. Neelix found a way to make himself useful for the crew. I really should do something like that as well, but I'm even worse of a cook even if he didn't have the market cornered there.
As it is I just feel useless, trying to catch up on basic stuff these people learn in fourth grade.
I'm a neanderthal.
Worse...I'm a out of shape neanderthal. While not exactly giantly fat I am about twenty kilos overweight.
I frown and take a bite from my bread.
Need to remember to talk to Doc about that later today. Never seen a overweight person on the show so maybe they have some kind of miracle cure.
...Nope. Something tell me I'm not that lucky. Being able to run away from the slobbering alien wanting to lay its eggs in my nose would be nice.
