"Get up weakling!" he thunder and I have just enough time to whimper before the klingon pull me back onto my feet "I don't care you are not a warrior. You will stay on your feet and keep moving or I will pound you into the ground!"
Now, in retrospect running a program that is basically basic bootcamp for klingons might have been a tad much for a out of shape human.
A few moments later I once again am running up that fucking mountain(more like stumbling) before I trip and tumble back down, just to be pulled onto my feet by that fucking klingon again "Get moving human!"
"Computer, end program." I answer him before stretching. Even with holodeck safeties that fucking hurt. Besides, my holotime is almost over anyway.
While I make my way to the sickbay to have my various stretched limbs looked at I cant help but wonder if I wouldn't be better of making my own program. Paris is acting a bit like a ass but at least I have a couple of lessons about creating holoprograms out of him.
I was playing Dark Souls before I ended up here. Perhaps something like that...swinging a big chunk of metal around do tend to bring your stamina up.
As I enter sickbay I notice the Viidian girl on the main biobed also standing talking with Doc "So..why are there a holographic copy of the patient Doc?" I cant help but ask even though I have a good idea.
He frown "She is not a copy. We transferred her mind into the holobuffert to keep her alive until we are able to heal the damage."
She give me a small shy smile "Hello. I'm Pel."
I give her a small nod and a Hello before turning back to the Doctor "You have mind upload technology? Are you serious!?"
"The holographic buffer is not made to contain this amount of data. Unless we get her own brain working again, she are going to die in a few days."
I just keep looking at him like he have grown a second head.
Ten minutes later I am back in my quarters after getting a quick checkup and a painkiller along with a warning to stay away from klingon programs(like I didn't already figure that out).
I had totally forgot about this event. Viidian saved and to get the time to help cure the damage to her brain they uploaded her mind into the computers holobuffert, creating a temporary holographic body for her to control.
The feds might not have outright mind uploading tech but its sodding close enough that a AI could just make it up when it was needed.
And nobody seem to understand the importance of this.
I get the replicator to make me a coke before I sit down with my desk, activating the console before resting my forehead against the desk.
I'm a transhumanist. The idea of using technology to improve myself and the world is a attractive one. The transhumanist philosophy is quite simple when you get down to the basic. Become all you can.
To see technology like that just sitting forgotten and nobody using it make me want to facedesk...oh wait, I'm already doing that.
Sitting back up I take a sip from the soda while frowning softly "Computer, start search. Transhumanism, Cybernetic augmentations, legal genetic augmentations. Cross reference against starfleet medical records."
"Access denied. Insufficient clearance to access starfleet medical records."
I sigh as I sip my glass. That would have been to simple "Change that last search variable to starfleet legal records."
"Searching."
Smiling slightly I put the glass down "Second search. Search through the federation legal database for instances where federation laws have been bent for spiritual reasons."
"Searching."
"Third search. Access all records I have access to concerning Khan Noonien Singh."
"Searching."
