Chereads / Unexpected Desires For Malachi / Chapter 25 - I'm his boyfriend

Chapter 25 - I'm his boyfriend

I finally leave the room after contemplating on what to do with myself. The fact that I'm still in my previous day clothes is making me severely uncomfortable so I go looking for him, Mal isn't in the living room, but the television is on though and some sort of sciencey news in on. what a nerd, I snicker, I guess he couldn't have gone far if the TV is on. I wander the house, searching for him. The house is big though, so I do a lot of walking. I check the gym, empty. I'm not even surprised he has a gym at home, the man is fucking perfection. The pool also empty. Where I believe to be his office, still empty. Where the hell is he? I wonder.

Then by luck, I stumbled upon a kitchen, why is his kitchen so far back in the house. I kind of forgot a kitchen is supposed to be in this house. It feels so private but spacious nonetheless. I enter and look around, it's seems he's also not here. There seems to be something cooking though. I walk over to look into the pot. Hmm noodles, yummy. Is it his sister cooking? I wouldn't want to seem like a creep sniffing someone's food.

"oh you're out." I jump in fright as Mal says behind me.

"What the hell!" I turn to look at him with my hands on my chest. He's coming out of the pantry holding a rubber of butter. He looks like he has had his bath though because he's out of his pajamas and now wearing black t-shirt and combats. "you almost scared me to death."

He laughs while stepping around me to continue his cooking. "I didn't know you where such a scaredy cat." He teases.

I scoff. "I'm not a scaredy cat. You just caught me unaware." I argue even though I know I'm absolutely a scaredy cat. I hate it when people creep up on me. "What are you cooking?"

"I'm sure you have eyes. Use them."

I roll my eyes in mock annoyance. "I know you are making noodles, I just don't know what you're doing with the butter."

"for eggs." He removes the noodles from the gas and replaces it with an empty pan. While it heats, he turns to me. "you haven't showered." He's eyes are so pretty. The blue and dark looks so mesmerizing, holding one captive in that intense stare. I could look at them at all time, wondering how someone can be so perfect. I clear my throat and looks away. Shit. I never even stood a chance.

I nod. "I didn't bring change of clothes."

"Really? It didn't stop you the last time when you." He air quote. "mistakenly spilled drink on your shirt. You asked for my shirt the then, which by the way, you still haven't returned it."

"Oh yeah, I totally forgot it." I mumble. I did not forget it. I'm never going to return it. It's mine now forever.

The look he gives me shows he doesn't believe me. "you can use my clothes like the last time." He offers.

"okay. Thank you. I promise I will return this one….. someday." He chuckled and flicks me away as if I'm a fly.

I go back inside his room to shower.

I come back out of his bedroom fully bathed and wearing a very soft cream sweater of his with an equally soft black joggers. No wonder he often has an air of superiority around him. If I dress myself with cloths this soft for a month, I would automatically become more refurbished and classy. I will look down my nose at everyone and ask them to kiss my feet.

Jesus. What is wrong with me.

I hear low noise from the dining area. It's Mal and Melbi. Mal is setting the table, while Melbi is yapping away. Why he feels the need to set the table is beyond me. We're eating noodles for Christ sake. I can't even remember when last I used my dining space back in my apartment. I think I've eaten everywhere In the house except the actual dining room.

"Tobi come sit." Mal says.

"Hi Melbi, what's up?" she turns to me and smile brightly as I pull out a chair to sit down.

"my brother's boyfriend is having breakfast with us, sweet!" She turns to Mal and wink. "you must really love him right."

Mal sighs. "he's not my boyfriend. And it will do you good to learn to mind your business." He says a little grumpy.

I laugh. He glares at me as he puts a plate at my front before filling it with delicious looking noodles and eggs. "don't you have cooks? Why are you cooking yourself?"

"oh, my brother loves cooking so much, he always prepares our meal himself, no matter how tired he is, he always finds a way to cook for us that's why we don't have a cook." She says excitedly. "isn't he quite a catch?"

He huffs looking a bit shy.. "shut up and eat your food. You're both so noisy."

I snicker at his little frustration and how he's trying to prevent us from talking about him before I face my plate and start eating.

After we finish eating Melbi grabs the plates taking them to the kitchen and I turn around looking for a towel to wipe down the table.

I see Mal watching me, his eyes running up and down my body. I think he likes the sight of me in his clothes. He breaths in and out slowly before clenching his fist.

"What are you doing?" he asks after a beat.

"I'm looking for a towel to wipe down the table."

"you don't have to." He looks down at his watch. "It's almost ten, shouldn't you be on your way to work?" he averts his gaze frim me.

My brows furrow. "are you chasing me away? Do you want me to leave?" I move back a bit, feeling sad. "is... is my presence making you uncomfortable?"

He sigh. "its not like that." He runs his palm down his face. "I'm having trouble…" he looks at me, really looks at me, allowing me to see his eyes. The want I see there is overwhelming. My throat gets dry. Fuck, he's trying to stop himself from touching me.

"You're having trouble what?" my breath is coming out a little heavier now. Anticipating the words he is about to say. I lick my lips and his eyes track the movement.

He opens his mouth, about to answer, then the doorbell rings.

Fuck. Fuck, fuck.

Who the hell interrupted this very promising conversation.

He shakes his head a bit, as if to clear his mind before getting up. I follow closely behind him, wanting to see the idiot that interrupted us. He opens the door and anger Is the only emotion I know.

I knew it. It's only a fucking bastard that will come knocking at the worse time possible.

Fuckwad doctor. What the hell is he even doing here? He looks a little bit shocked to see me, but he quickly schools his expression before placing a fake ass smile on his face.

"Hi Mal, I didn't know you had company." He shrugs. "I can come back when you're alone."

"no!" the word is out my mouth before I could hold my tongue. Mal throws me a withering glare. I don't mind though, I'd be rather damned than to let them both stay here by themselves.

"Aren't you supposed to be on your way to work?"

"I postponed." I lied while still staring at the intruder.

Mal opens the door wider. "you can come in."

He looks between the two of us, me in particular. "are you sure?"

"yes." Mal says looking exasperated. He opens the door wider to let the man in and the fucking snake slithered in.

He walks to the couch and sits down. "so…. Are you guys boyfriends?"

"yes." My mouth says again before my brain can catch up to what I'm implying.
