"You okay?" The question startled Valerie who was deep in thought.
"You're still here?"
Felix sighed. He stood by her side to admire what she was looking at with so much concentration. It was a huge family portrait that was hang in the hallway.
Valerie smiled as she spoke, reminiscing of the past. "She was so adamant that day, that we have our photo taken."
"She takes after you."
Valerie laughed. "You're right about that." Her smile dropped a second later. "I guess that's why I hate that she took after me."
Felix remained silent.
The two continued admiring the portrait when Dante, Felix's personal bodyguard rushed to his side to whisper something on his ear. Felix's demeanor took a complete 180 after hearing what Dante had to say.
"I have to go." Felix didn't wait for Valerie's reply. He quickly made it his car where his driver, Kane quickly sped out of the Lemington's estate.
A couple of minutes later and they had arrived at Pink Diamond night club. Felix clenched his teeth as he got out of the car. He made long strides as he walked into the club that was packed.
He straight away made his way to the VIP elite night club located on the terrace of the 3 story building.
The loud music that was blasting from the speakers annoyed Felix even more.
Just where is she?
As Felix scanned the terrace for that familiar face, her incoherent mumbles got his attention.
He rubbed his forehead. She was really hellbent on getting on his last nerve. That, she was good at.
Brooklyn was sprawled out on one of the lounge couches, totally wasted. On the coffee table was remnants of crushed/powdered drugs.
Felix tried keeping his anger at bay as he helped her up. She couldn't even keep her eyes open. Brooklyn didn't even protest with Felix carrying her in his arms to the car.
The ride home was uncomfortably silent. It was very unbearable for Dante and Kane. It was clearly visible on his face that Felix was not the least bot happy about this. To make matters worse, the person in question who made him that mad was sound asleep on his lap.
Brooklyn refused to let go of him. She tightly clung to him as she dozed off on the ride back home.
Felix could only swallow down his anger and frustration that he felt.
