The Rolls Royce came to a stop upon arriving at their destination. The bodyguards went and opened the car doors. Brooklyn got out from one side and Felix from the other.
She stressed long and hard at the mansion before her. The place she always called home.
Felix walked around the car and joined Brooklyn's side. He pulled her close to him with his hand on her waist.
Brooklyn swallowed whatever complaint she wanted to fire out of her mouth when she saw the head butler coming to greet them at the huge front door.
"It's good to have you back home miss Brooklyn." William said.
She gave him a tight-lipped smile as a sign of acknowledgment.
William led them to the living room. Although, one could easily tell that a lot of people were gathered by the swimming pool outside from the loud overlapping voices.
"Brooklyn! There you are." Valerie excitedly welcomed her daughter with a big hug.
Brooklyn kept her hands at her side, not reciprocating the hug. Regardless, Valerie's didn't stop smiling warmly at Brooklyn.
"Why don't you two join us for some family time?"
Brooklyn was about to refuse when Felix beat her to it.
"We'd love that."
"Great! Right this way."
Valerie led the two outside. As expected, there were a lot of people. It was a family gathering of some sort.
Kids were running about the compound, having the time of their life. The adults were either swimming in the pool, having barbecue or engaging in conversations wherever.
The place was very lively.
"I've already prepared a change of clothes for you. They're in your room, upstairs." She told Brooklyn who appeared to be bored already.
"And me?" Felix smiled at Valerie.
"Just pick anything from Zay's closet. He won't mind." Valerie patted his shoulder before joining her mates by the gazebo.
Brooklyn exhaled tiredly. She wanted to be anywhere but here.
