Chapter 2 - Shadow of Betrayal

**Part 1: Hospital Scene**

Abeer and Adil were both anxiously waiting for the doctor. After a short while, the doctor arrived.

Abeer quickly asked, "Doctor, how is she now? Is she okay?"

The doctor sighed deeply before replying, "She's out of danger now. By morning, she'll regain consciousness, and then you can meet her. But how did she end up like this? I mean, she's been tortured badly. Her body is covered with burn marks...someone burned her with cigarettes. She was barely given any food, just enough to keep her alive. She's been beaten brutally. From the injuries on her hands and feet, it's clear that she was tied up. Well, once she regains consciousness, you can talk to her." After saying this, the doctor left.

Hearing the doctor's words, both Abeer and Adil were shocked. They couldn't understand who could have had the audacity to treat Ayna this way.

**Part 2: The Basement**

In a dimly lit basement, a man stood, illuminated only by a yellow light. His eyes were red with rage, and in front of him stood around 8-10 men, trembling under his furious gaze. The man yelled angrily, "How could you make such a big mistake? You all couldn't handle a simple girl together? I want that girl at any cost, no matter what. And if I don't get her..." He shot one of the men on the spot. The others began to shake in fear as they watched. The man's face twisted into a terrifying smile as he saw their terror.

A woman's voice then echoed, "There's no need to get so angry, Ranjeet. She can't run far. We'll find her, if not today, then tomorrow."

Ranjeet replied, "Of course, Maya...and after we catch her, she'll receive a punishment so painful she won't forget it."

Both of them exchanged sinister smiles. Just then, Ranjeet's phone rang. He answered, "Yes, Ashish, any information?"

On the other side, Ashish replied, "Boss, that girl is in the hospital. And the important thing is that she was admitted by the city's biggest businessman, Abeer Rajvansh."

Hearing this, Ranjeet ended the call abruptly.

After hanging up, Ranjeet said, "Abeer Rajvansh is with that girl. He won't let anyone get near her so easily. He's there himself, which means we need to think carefully. We can't fool him every time. You only get one chance to slip up, not more."

Maya then added, "Abeer Rajvansh is a dangerous player. He's like a spark—if anyone touches him, they'll be burned entirely. It's not easy to take him on."

Ranjeet responded, "But I am Ranjeet. I will get that girl back. She's my obsession, and I'll never let her go." As he said this, a devilish smile spread across his face.

**Part 3: Abeer's Flashback**

Abeer was sitting on a bench in the hospital, his head leaning against the wall, eyes closed, lost in memories. Faint recollections played in his mind.

A six-year-old boy sat mischievously on a couch, his eyes darting around the room until they stopped on a woman sitting beside him. She was glaring at him in anger.

Abeer asked, "Mom, why are you staring at me like that?"

Sejal, in a stern tone, replied, "Abeer, you've troubled me enough. Now, sit quietly and eat your food, or I'll be upset with you." She pouted and turned her face away.

Just then, loud laughter filled the room, surprising both Sejal and Abeer. They looked up to see a man standing with a pizza box in his hands, laughing uncontrollably.

Abeer shouted excitedly, "Dad! You brought me pizza?" He quickly ran over and hugged his father tightly.

Sejal stood up and scolded, "Madan, you're spoiling him."

Madan chuckled, "Sweetheart, I'm not spoiling him, just showing my son some love." He kissed Abeer on the forehead.

Abeer quickly grabbed the pizza box and rushed back to the couch to start eating. As Abeer devoured the pizza, both Madan and Sejal smiled softly.

Sejal remarked, "He's so mischievous, and here you are feeding him outside food instead of a proper meal. Eating out isn't healthy."

Madan responded, "Darling, he only eats out occasionally. Otherwise, he eats your home-cooked meals every day." He kissed Sejal on the forehead.

Sejal said, "Alright, you go freshen up, and I'll set the table for dinner."

Madan nodded and headed to his room.

After a while, Madan returned and went to the dining area where Sejal was waiting for him. They finished their meal in silence. Madan then said, "I need to make a call," and walked out to the garden area.

There, he made a call, saying, "Yes, yes, everything is perfect. She doesn't suspect a thing. Tomorrow, we'll end her game. I just need your support, nothing else. Just be at my house by midnight, and I'll handle the rest." He hung up without looking around and went back inside.

Meanwhile, Abeer had overheard everything. Shocked, he couldn't understand what his father was talking about or whom he was talking to. Fear gripped Abeer, and he hurried to his room, pulling the blanket over himself. Though he tried, he couldn't sleep, his mind racing with thoughts:

"What's going to happen at midnight tonight?"
