'I'm going to find a sugar daddy to raise myself!' Rosalee thought ruthlessly.
She did not care what others would think if they learned about her terrible plan.
Her years of blood, sweat, and tears of labor had brought her nothing but another life of destitution.
So she would rather not abuse herself anymore!
She does not give a damn even if she dies right now.
At the very least, death would bring an end to her poverty!
"Little fool, what are you thinking?"
Her thoughts were interrupted by the sudden appearance of an enlarged face above her head.
She blinked, pursed her lips, and called out in a hesitant and confused tone.
"Br-brother?"
She nearly bit the tip of her tongue at the unfamiliar word.
Felix looked at his sister and awkwardly patted her head, asking, "Are you feeling any discomfort?" He nearly had a heart attack after witnessing her faint in front of him.
She looked like she was going to die right there with how ugly her expression was.
Rosalee shook her head, quickly accepting the fact that she had "acquired" a brother out of nowhere.
Felix carefully observed his sister, and when she showed no signs of distress, his tense shoulders visibly relaxed in relief.
"Hey Felix! Do you have to run so fast?!"
A loud voice interrupted the quiet atmosphere between the siblings.
They simultaneously turned their heads to see a yellow-skinned teenager weakly leaning against the door with one hand, gasping for air.
"You- oh! Rosie, you're awake!" The teenager was about to scold his friend for leaving him behind, but he changed his mind when he saw the girl sitting on the bed. Rosalee was unsure what to call the new teenager who approached her.
She was curious if this person was also her brother.
"I thought something bad had happened to you after seeing how anxious Felix looked before running away without a word. Fortunately, it was a false alarm." The teen grumbled and sighed in relief, inhaling deeply.
So her newly gained brother's name was Felix, Rosalee thought.
Felix fake coughed to hide his embarrassment; he was not anxious at all.
Rosalee looked at the teenager who spoke to her with familiarity and asked, embarrassed, "Who are you?"
As soon as she asked the question, a strange silence spread throughout the room. She said, maintaining the same expression, "I think I lost my memories."
Felix and Evan were surprised.
They expected the advanced medical cabin to heal her, but they did not expect it to also erase her memory!
Felix immediately called the doctor to check on her condition while Evan questioned her seriously. "How much can you remember?"
Rosalee waited, but she did not receive the so-called memories of the original owner. As a result, she had to rely on amnesia to learn about her current situation.
Especially since she was not very good at impersonating others. It would be disastrous if the original body's relatives became aware of the difference.
"Nothing."
Felix's expression darkened as he realized how serious her condition was.
The yellow-skinned teen did not mind that the girl had lost her memories. He even thought that her amnesia was a good thing.
After all, she was among those who had witness most of his embarassing situations.
He tried to lighten his friend's gloomy expression, afraid that he would use foul language. "It is fine; at least she is awake and well."
He smiled and introduced himself to Rosalee, saying, "I am your brother's good friend; you can call me bro Evan."
Rosalee nodded obediently and called out, "Brother Evan." Her voice was very soft, almost inaudible.
Evan laughed heartily and said cheerfully, "don't be shy in front of me. I have known you since you were a child, so treat me like your own brother."
His cheery smile affected Rosalee, and his words made her heavy heart a little lighter.
Forgive her, she wasn't used to calling such intimate titles.
It didn't take long for the doctor to arrive after hearing the news of her missing memory.
Rosalee watched as the doctor pointed his finger at her, and gray smoke gradually enveloped her body. She felt no malice or discomfort from the strange smoke, so she tried to relax even though her heart nearly leaped out of her throat.
After a minute, when the smoke had cleared, the doctor waved his hand in the air and stared at the empty space for a moment before explaining to Felix.
"The patient has no physical damage to her head."
Rosalee wondered if he had actually taken an x-ray right now.
The doctor continued to inquired, "does the patient have any psychological or emotional trauma, such as having witnessed a deeply distressing or upsetting incident?"
Felix hesitated and shook his head. The only traumatic event in their lives would be the death of their parents. However, it had been so long ago that he doubted his sister would be triggered as a result of it.
Even if she was truly traumatized by the event, he had to admit that her reaction time was slower than that of an ancient sloth he had heard of.
Except for that incident, he was certain she had not experienced any other grievances.
If he had to say anything, he was the one who had been hurt by her antics.
He cast a suspicious glance at his silent sister and asked himself, 'Is she pretending?'
Rosalee noticed his gaze and turned to face him, smiling obediently while she cursed the unknown being for transporting her to this new world with no memory of the original owner.
Bah! She wanted to give a bad review for the experience!
"Doctor, can her amnesia be cured?" Evan asked the most important question.
The doctor thought it would be difficult because he did not know the exact cause of the sudden memory loss.
"In general, it can be temporary or permanent, depending on the severity of the brain damage and the extent of memory loss. In your sister case, we have a few programs that may be able to help her reclaim the lost memories. Are you interested in it?"
Rosalee was getting very anxious now.
First of all, she had no idea what had become of the original owner's soul.
She did not know if she died or if their souls were swapped.
Secondly, her amnesia was fake!
If the people here knew that she was faking her amnesia and that a different soul was occupying the body, she would have nowhere to cry!
She did not dare to bet on whether the so-called program could recognize the different souls.
Moreover, it appeared that the people here possessed supernatural powers. This was more terrifying than being checked by icy machinery!
Even she wanted death to relieve her, she wanted it to happen quickly. Laying on the cold metal bed and being experimented by crazy doctors never crossed her mind.
She looked at her brother with confusion and panic. "Brother, can we go home? I don't like it here." She would run away if he didn't take her away right this instant!
Evan was distressed by her panicked expression, and he motioned Felix to make a quick decision.
