5 December 1992,
Three days have past, and today is the weekend, and Sam is preparing to meet with Billy Myer, the owner of Western-Myer Publications.
Claire arrives at his house after some preparations, since she will accompany him to the appointment with Mr. Myer, and his agent Elijah will meet them directly at the hotel.
When he saw Claire, Sam responded, "Babe, I think I need a chauffeur and a bodyguard/assistant to drive me everywhere, as you may get fatigued from doing so much work."
Claire, "Yes, I also think that you need some people around you, but for those two posts, you need someone trustworthy, as the people in this position always have more access to their master's secret or their private details."
Sam took a moment to think and nodded. "I do have someone like that in my mind, and it is uncle Sebastian Pedro, who worked with my father as his aide in our garage, and I also gave him some money at the time of the sale of the garage, but I don't know much about his current itinerary."
Claire responds, "So, you can just go and meet with him and have a talk sometimes later."
Sam nodded in agreement. After that, they both headed to the Hyatt Hotel to meet Mr. Myers since they had previously made their reservation.
Sam has previously read about Billy Myer and understands that this old man is unpleasant, emotional, and highly attached to his relationships.
As an Irishman, this was to be anticipated; Irish people in America are strongly bonded and believe in family and relationships, much as Indians in India.
After traveling for half an hour, they arrived at the Hyatt Hotel and met Elijah, who had been waiting for them for a few minutes.
Sam glanced at Elijah and asked, "You are very punctual with time; how do you do that?"
Elijah smiled. "I just have a mild OCD regarding punctuality, so I always try to be on time everywhere, or else I get irritated for the whole day."
OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder) is a condition in which a person becomes preoccupied with anything that he has to make seem flawless according to his arrangement. This disease is very widespread in Western nations, ranging from low to severe, and it varies depending on the type of person.
After that, the three of them entered the hotel, knowing that Mr. Myers was waiting for them.
Walking towards their specified seats, Sam noticed a man with a large beard and unkempt clothes seated next to another nice and groomed lawyer, which created a stark contrast.
Sam instructs Elijah and Claire to be silent as they take a seat opposite the elderly guy and introduce themselves.
Sam didn't mince words when he said, "Mr. Myers, for how much money will you sell your publishing house?"
Billy Myer was surprised for a while before becoming enraged and responding, "What the hell do you think you're talking about?"
Sam narrowed his eyes and added, "I've seen the report of your company, which was once one of the best in the country for publication, and it's now just a printing press rather than a publishing house. Am I not correct?"
Billy shouted, "No, it is still a fully functional publication house with full distribution channels."
Sam sighed and asked, "Then why is it losing money that even banks are unwilling to give you a loan?"
Billy sighed, "It's just that we are having a rough time lately as we haven't discovered many good novels, comics, and books that can become sensations in the market."
Sam laughed and responded by saying, "No, it's just you, losing your business edge; even now, for a meeting, you came looking unprepared for any business, and that's why I offered the money to you directly at the start because I think your passion for book publishing has faded away with the passing of your sons."
Billy looks at Sam and says, "No, discovering and publishing new works is like a child to me; I can't give it up!"
Sam requested Claire to take his fantasy book from her briefcase and hand it to him, after which he gave it to Billy for a look.
Billy looked at the big book provided by Sam, which had the title, "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone."
The book's backdrop was a little blackish, with a large castle and four sigils of different colors representing four college houses.
And Sam's book cover was not designed in a comical comedy tone like the original author's, but rather a serious, realistic drawing that might seem real due to the feelings and images.
Billy gazed at the book and flipped through the pages for a few minutes before reluctantly closing it at a hint from his old legal buddy Simmon Turner.
As he knows, when an editor reads a new work from a client, he should be patient and calm, but Billy couldn't help himself because he already knew that this is a phenomenal work that, as he mentioned a few minutes ago, can boost a publishing house's value and increase its revenue.
Billy questioned Sam enthusiastically, while a few words came to mind, "who wrote such an amazing fantasy book."
