After a while, the whole room was empty.
"Well, it's time for me to go to the exit, although my sister probably isn't there yet."
Once at the agreed place to wait for my sister, I check the area, but I don't see her. What I do manage to see, however, is Sergeant Alexander, smoking a cigarette. In turn, he sees me.
— Hey, brat," he beckons me closer.
"Now, what does this guy want? How annoying" (I walk over to where he is and look at him).
— I had no idea you were in this class, brat. Honestly, I thought you'd be in some higher class, I thought you were like your sister, but I see you're not.
— I'm not like her, I didn't pass any of the physical test.
— Oh, I see. In fact, now that you mention it, you look out of shape. You should exercise more if you want to keep up here.
"He's right, I should try harder, maybe now that we're here I should take my training more seriously."
— Do you know if the academy has a gym or something like that? -I asked with a serious look on my face.
— Of course we do, brat. Each of these buildings -he points to the F-class building- has its own personal gym, but if I'm honest with you, the F-class one is garbage.
— Don't worry, I don't think it's as bad as you say. Anyway, I've been planning to get in shape for a while now. I'm also aware that my sister is strong, and that's why I shouldn't lag behind, I'll try my best to keep up with her.
— Tell me, brat, what's your name? -he asks with a more serious countenance.
— My name is Hikaru sir.
With a more relaxed expression, Alexander answers:
— Well, brat. Show me that you have the determination it takes to make it and maybe I'll tell you some tricks. Well, I think they've come for you," he waves his hand slightly to the side.
I turn my eyes and see Haruki walking towards me.
— I have to go too, brat. I'll see you later.
After saying that, he enters the building again, and I approach Haruki.
— Hello, sis.
— I'm home, little brother.
He grabs me and places my head on his chest, giving me a hug.
— I missed you so much, little brother. I had to introduce myself to so many people, it was all so boring and stressful. I wanted to drop everything and come to see you as soon as possible, but I had a little setback.
— Yes, sis, whatever you say, but let go, you're suffocating me.
She lets go of me. "More than a hug it looked like a wrestling key, she doesn't know how to control her strength."
— What kind of mishap did you have sister, is everything okay?
She with a smile that overflows joy and confidence tells me:
— Everything is fine Hikaru, but that's not important, tell me, how was your first class, little brother, did you make many friends?
— Don't ask me that, I'm not a kid anymore. It was normal, nothing bad happened.
— I'm glad, little brother. You know you can always count on your beautiful big sister. Well, it's time to go to the apartment. I'll make you something nice to eat," she says with a smile.
— Yes, sis! -I reply with a smile.
After that eloquent moment, we walk away.
"It really has been an exhausting day. We've probably both had to restrain ourselves so as not to cause trouble. I just want to eat and rest.
After a while of uneventful walking, we arrived at the entrance to our apartment.
— Here we are, little brother. Open the door.
— I'm coming, sister, don't rush me.
I take the key out of my pants and open the door. As I open it, I go in and turn on the lights in the apartment. My sister comes in behind me.
— We are already in the apartment. I'll go change my clothes, little brother. Can you water the bonsai tree on the terrace?
— Yes, sure.
"This apartment is really comfortable. We have the kitchen near the entrance and a living room with a couple of comfortable armchairs right in front of it. There are large windows that let in natural lighting. We also have a full bathroom with a tub. I can't wait to get in the bath to relax. Then there is the bedroom with two super comfy beds and plenty of clothes to wear. I am grateful to my sister for getting all this. I think I will heat the water to take a shower."
After watering the bonsai, I head to the bathroom to prepare the water.
"Well, I'll be able to take a bath in a little while."
— Little brother, I've already changed. I'm going to make lunch. Can you cut up the vegetables to make a stew? -my sister shouts from the kitchen.
— Yes, I'm coming. Just let me get changed.
I go to the bedroom to get my clothes and change into something comfortable: a big white T-shirt and some pants. After changing, I leave the room and see that my sister is wearing a black T-shirt with small shorts.
— What are the vegetables you want me to cut?
— They are the potatoes and carrots that are on the table, little brother. I left you a knife on the side.
I start chopping the vegetables, and after a while we finish the stew.
— Thanks for the food," we both say.
— Wow, that stew is delicious, sister. You are without a doubt the best cook in the world. I could eat this all my life.
— I'm glad you like it, little brother, but I really don't think you can eat it every day. Your body needs more nutrients. By the way do you already have plans for tomorrow?
"Now that you mention it, I guess I don't have to worry about my sister anymore. After all, she is already a strong person. The best thing will be to live up to her so that I can be by her side, determined I will."
— Yes, sister. Tomorrow I'm going to the gym to train. I want to get in shape," I speak with determination.
— I know you'll make it, little brother," she says with a big smile.
— Good, determined! I'll get stronger.
— Okay, now we have to finish our food before it gets cold, brother.
We both eat our fill, and as we pick up the plates, something in the atmosphere changes.
— Now that we've eaten, little brother, can you explain to me why you spoke to that worm at the ceremony?
I turn my gaze with fear and see that my sister gives off a tenebrous aura. Hesitantly, I answer her:
— Y-you mean Seraphine? She just...
— So you keep calling her by her name, huh?
— W-well, t-t-that' her name, Seraph....
Fortunately, before I finish her name, I notice that my sister is holding a sharp knife in her hand, and she's giving off more and more of a murderous aura. I try to protect myself with words.
— Sorry, little sister. The worm was the one who spoke to me first.
When I finish saying that, my sister jumps on me like a wrestler and, while I'm on the ground, she puts me in a headlock that causes me a lot of pain.
— Sorry, sister! I will never call you by your name again.
— Shut up, womanizer. I told you I was going to punish you. Take this!
— No, sister! Count to ten!
And that was the end of my first official day as a cadet at this academy.
