After a comforting night, the day after the ceremony arrives. Upon waking up, I notice that my sister is not in the room.
"How strange that my sister is still not asleep on a day of rest. Anyway, what time is it?"
I look at the clock hanging on the wall and see that it's 10:00.
- Wow, you can really get a good night's sleep in these beds. I feel like my energy has recovered. Well, I'm going to work out today.
I get ready to leave, putting on my training uniform: gray pants, with a black T-shirt that fits a little big and white tennis shoes. As I leave the room, hoping to find my sister outside, I see a plate of food and a note on the table.
"Let's see what Haruki wrote."
Note from Haruki: "Little brother, I went out with a friend. I left your breakfast on the table, I'll probably be late, so don't miss me too much. Love you, your cute big sister."
"She left breakfast ready for me, I'll thank her when I see her. I don't mind her going out, but... it's a little weird since when did she have a friend? I think this is the first time I've heard her say she has one. She doesn't usually express herself that way about people. I'll ask her who she is when she gets back."
I sit down at the table and get ready to eat the breakfast he prepared for me. After a while I satisfactorily finish the breakfast.
"Thanks for the food. Well, after a big breakfast it's time to go train. The building is supposed to be open."
After finishing breakfast, I left the apartment heading for building F. On the way I noticed that there were more people than on other days.
"My sister was right. She told me last night that it was only yesterday that most students started arriving, and that we, not having a place to stay, were allowed to stay here for three months before the dorms received the others."
Just looking around, this place looks livelier, with more people. It's even already very noticeable that there are diverse races around.
"I should also study a bit of culture. It's good to know what races they are before I introduce myself to any of them. For example, that girl over there looks human, but she's not: she has a completely black eyeball, with a red iris and slightly longer ears than a human. She's a Demon, I know because I've seen some in the slums. There's also a guy there with very long, pointy ears, he seems to be talking to a girl who has a tail and animal ears... no idea what they're called."
After a while of walking, I arrived at building F. The surroundings of this building seemed empty.
"I guess not many people come this way, after all we weren't many students yesterday."
I stood in front of the doors to the building and opened them. As I entered, I looked up to see directions on how to get to exactly where the gym was.
"Let's see, according to this, I have to turn here, then left...and it should be here. Okay, I'm going to open it."
As I tried to open the door in front of me, it felt hard, like something was jamming it, so I decided to apply more force. When I finally got it open, out came a puff of accumulated dust, apparently because it hadn't been used in a while. As I inhaled the powder, I started coughing and covered my mouth and nose with my arm so I wouldn't keep inhaling it.
(Cof, cof, cof).
"What the hell! This is so dirty!"
Once the dust cloud cleared, I put my arm down and looked at the view.
- Looks like the training will have to wait a bit," I mentioned a bit discouraged.
As I looked around, I saw the large room with some machines covered in dust and even some boxes on top of them, as if they had never been used. I noticed that, although the place wasn't bad, the floor and walls looked corroded.
"The place is messy, it will take me a while to clean everything up. I must hurry and get the cleaning stuff."
I went out in search of cleaning utensils. After a while, I returned with a bucket and a broom in each hand, and an apron on.
- Okay, it's cleaning time!
With a positive attitude, I started cleaning and, as if I were an expert, after a few hours I managed to leave everything sparkling clean. Looking around the place again from a corner, I noticed that everything looked almost new and barely used.
- Now it really looks like a gym," I said proudly.
(As I stretched) - That was a good warm up, I guess I'll start running on that machine.
Before I got on the machine, I turned it on by pushing a button. Experimenting with it for a while, I figured out how to use it properly.
"Now I've got the hang of it. Although I'm not running fast, but that's a start."
After running on the machine for a while, I turned it off and got off. Breathing heavily, I stopped to rest for a few seconds to take a breath.
- Ah, ah, ah.
"After running for a while I'm already tired. I'm even very sweaty, but I must keep going. Well, I must give it my all. I will beat the tiredness."
After that, I started to do basic workouts: squats, sit-ups, push-ups, among others. After about two hours I managed to finish.
- Wow! -I shouted, lying on the floor, "I'm so tired. I had never done these exercises before. When I saw the guys at the boxing gym they seemed to make it so easy, but it's not.
"The boxing gym was a busy place in the slums. It was down the street from where I worked. I would always walk by there and watch them for a while. I even think that, had I not come to this academy, Haruki would have had his first fight as a boxer. I guess I'll rest for a few minutes here."
After resting for a few minutes, I walked out of the gym, and off to the side, I saw a sign.
"Umm, it says 'Showers' there. I guess I could use one."
After thinking about it, I headed off to take a shower, which only had cold water, but I didn't care. After I finished showering, I got ready and headed out of the building.
"A nice shower after exercise feels good, what should I do now? It's not too late yet."
Thinking about what to do next, I came up with an idea.
"I think I'll go see what the library is like...but which way will it be? Maybe if I ask someone..."
In the distance I saw someone familiar, it was a girl - Gisei.
"Maybe she knows where the library is. I'll run and ask her."
After that, I took a small stride and started running, at the same time I shouted her name to make her turn around.
