What did I do wrong? Why did he just leave me like that? I thought I did well.
I thought I had him.
Was I not seductive enough? Or maybe he found something that was not to his liking.
I tried so hard to think of something I might have done wrong, but nothing came to mind. It was only until now that I realized how much I was panting. I was out of breath.
My body was still tingling, and my mind was racing. I picked up my clothes and quickly put them on, my body aching for the feel of his skin. He was so close and yet so far.
I was frustrated and I was confused. I needed to talk to him. I needed to find him.
I had to know what I did wrong.
"Master?" I called out, hoping he would respond.
"Mast…" I was about to call again when Benjamin appeared out of nowhere and cut me off.
"Master wants me to tell you to leave. Your session is over and his next client will be here soon." Benjamin said.
"Oh." I was speechless.
How could he send me away after what happened? Didn't he like the way I danced? Did he find my dancing not to his liking?
Before I could say anything else, Benjamin was already leading me to the front door.
He opened the door and ushered me outside, leaving me standing there with a million questions running through my head.
The car ride home was a blur. I was numb.
Everything was a daze. All I could think of was ….. Master

"Zoe" I heard Ramona call my name as I sat in the club's dressing room.
The music from the club was loud, and I had to strain my ears to hear what she was saying.
"Yes, ma." I replied, turning towards her direction.
"We have a special request for you." She said.
"A special request? From whom?" I asked.
"Someone who wants to pay top dollar for a private dance." Ramona replied, and murmurs filled the dressing room.
Everyone was surprised. I have never done a private dance before. There have never been any requests, until today.
"Are you sure, Ramona?" One of the girls, Diana asked. She walked over and stood beside Ramona.
"You know, Zoe, doesn't do private dances. Don't get fooled by her performance yesterday. She's a bad dancer and the last thing we need is for our important clients to be disappointed. We can't take any risks." Diana said.
Diana looked at me and shook her head, "She'll embarrass the club. Let me do it."
I bit the inside of my cheek. Her words hurt me.
I knew she was jealous. I knew she was only saying these things because she was envious of me, but it still hurt.
She was right though. I was not a good dancer. I couldn't dance.
Not until two days ago. Two days ago, I was able to dance. And it was all thanks to Master…. who was also angry with me.
I hung my head. Maybe Ramona should give the request to Diana.
I was about to tell her, when she spoke again.
"No. This request is for Zoe. Only Zoe." Ramona said, and everyone was stunned.
"He paid the money, and he insisted on Zoe. He wants to be with her, and only her. No one else."
"But…" Diana tried to argue, when Marge interrupted her.
"Why don't you sit your ass down and shut the hell up, Brooke! Didn't you hear, the client asked for Zoe. Not you. So why don't you go and mind your own business!" Marge defended me.
I turned to see Marge, leaning against the dressing room wall, looking pissed.
Her arms were crossed across her chest, and her face was twisted into a scowl.
I mouthed a thank you.
Marge loved stepping up for me to the other girls. Her and Lily were literally my only friends here.
The other girls were manipulative and mean. I hated them all. Except for Lily and Marge.
Lily was a sweet girl. And Marge was a real badass. She didn't care what anyone thought.
"Fine, whatever." Diana threw her hands up in frustration and stormed out.
I turned to Marge, and she winked at me, making me smile.
She walked over and placed her arm on my shoulder.
"She will do it Ramona. Just give us a few minutes." Marge said.
Ramona nodded, "Don't take too long. The man is waiting."
"We won't." Marge said and waited until Ramona left the room before she started talking.
"Congratulations Zoe. Your first client." She teased, giving me a light punch on the shoulder.
"But… I don't know what to do. I've never had a client before and I've never done a private dance. How can I do this? I can't dance. You know that." I said, nervously.
"You did fine yesterday. You can do it." Marge said.
"Yeah, but it was only because of….." I paused, remembering what happened yesterday.
"See… I don't know what Master is teaching you. But I know last night, you were spectacular. You can do this Zoe." Marge reassured me.
I bit my lower lip.
"Didn't you have any class with Master today. I'm sure you must have learnt something new. Right? Marge asked.
I sighed.
The image of Master pushing me off him and leaving the room without saying a word flashed in my mind.
"I guess." I shrugged.
"Well. I know you will do great, Zoe." Marge pulled me up and hugged me.
"Come on, let's go." She said.
"Alright."
Marge led me towards the door.
I took a deep breath and stepped into the hallway, and made my way through the dim-lit and narrow corridor that led to the VIP area.
