Chapter Forty-Two: Death Song
The only thing in his sight was the boundless sky. The stars were beautiful, dancing in the vast sky, but Dusken couldn't tell if it was because his head was spinning.
Even so, what he could tell was that two brown eyes locked on him as the soldier headed toward his location, his arm dripping blood.
In his other hand however, was a spear; its sharp pointy tip glistening under the moonlight.
Dusken struggled to get up. His face was bloodied, but he grinned madly as he spoke for the first time in this battle:
"Excitement. I seek excitement, and so anything exhilarating is great to me." His words were laced with unmistakable joy.
Ever since he relived his past life within the inheritance, his boredom with this world had intensified, so anything exciting was worth pursuing.
The soldier halted his steps, tilting his head and fixing Dusken with a look that spoke volumes.
