Chapter 16 - CHAPTER - 18 : Clash of Titans

In the dark corridor, chaos reigned as the undead legions clashed with packs of blue wolves. The ground trembled beneath the sheer force of their collisions. Lightning crackled and bones snapped, filling the air with sounds of battle. At the heart of the mayhem, a huge dark blue wolf, its body humming with electric sparks, stood firm, facing three towering giants—creatures so large they nearly touched the temple's ceiling.

The wolf growled low, ready to fight, but the nine-headed serpent sneered. "Hey, mutt, our master wants you dead. Let's see how long you can last!" Its many heads writhed as it laughed mockingly.

The four-legged kaiju, towering beside the serpent, chimed in with a rumbling voice, "This little mutt is their leader? Hah, he's probably pissing himself right now looking at us. What a joke—does he think he stands a chance?"

Meanwhile, the Beholder King, with its eerie, floating body covered in grotesque eyes, fixated on the Great Electric Wolf. Though the wolf couldn't understand their words, it sensed their mockery and humiliation, their amusement at its struggle.

The wolf's ears flattened as it glanced back at its pack for reassurance. But in that moment of hesitation, the serpent's massive tail swung violently through the air. With a thunderous impact, it smashed into the wolves, scattering their bodies and killing most in one sweep.

"That leaves you all alone," the serpent hissed, its voice full of malice. "You should've kept your eyes on us."

The Great Electric Wolf howled in fury, electricity surging from its fur. Before it could pounce, however, the four-legged kaiju unleashed a barrage of laser blasts. Beams of energy ripped through the corridor, forcing the wolf to dodge frantically. Some of the blasts scorched the floor and reduced a few distant wolves—and even some unfortunate skeletons—into ash.

Just as the wolf regained its footing, a chilling force invaded its mind. The Beholder King's many eyes glowed with a sickly light as it unleashed a mental damage skill, stunning the wolf in place. Paralysis gripped the creature, leaving it exposed.

"Time for a rainbow," the nine-headed serpent sneered, unleashing an elemental affinity blast from all nine heads. Waves of fire, frost, wind, and other elements converged, forming a swirling, multicolored blast. The rainbow-like energy surged forward, slamming into the Great Electric Wolf with devastating force.

The blast filled the corridor with immense energy, forcing everything in its path backward. Even a spectral figure hovering at the edge of the hallway barely avoided the explosion. As the energy wave subsided, the ghostly figure—Pluto—stared in disbelief.

"That... almost killed me," Pluto muttered, shocked at the blast's intensity. Worried about Jay, he moved cautiously through the ruined corridor, the stench of burnt fur thick in the air.

When Pluto emerged from the blast zone, he saw three massive creatures towering over what appeared to be the charred remains of a wolf. The Great Electric Wolf looked like a blackened husk, its fur singed and flesh scorched. It barely resembled a wolf anymore, more like a sluggish, broken creature struggling to stand. Pluto shifted his gaze beyond the giants and spotted Jay among the undead legions, talking with Adonis.

Jay noticed Pluto at the corridor's entrance and gave him a wave. Pluto didn't hesitate. In a flash of speed, he phased through the charred wolf, gliding past the armies to reach Jay's side. "Master, I've returned. Any sign of Amelios or Seraphina?"

Jay shook his head, summarizing his encounter in the temple. Pluto shared his own strange experiences, and together, they puzzled over how everything seemed too deliberate, as if someone had orchestrated their trials.

Suddenly, a pained growl echoed behind them. The Great Electric Wolf, though grievously wounded, staggered to its feet. Its body was falling apart—one leg had been severed by the black mud summoned earlier by the kaiju, and another was half-rotted. Still, the beast stood, desperate and defiant.

The three black-eyed ghouls surrounded it, cutting off any hope of escape. In a last-ditch effort, the wolf released a massive lightning beam aimed at the nine-headed serpent. The attack was so fast, the serpent barely had time to react. With a hiss, it activated Myth Armor, encasing its entire body in black, metallic plating. The beam slammed into the serpent's armor, leaving only small dents.

Before the wolf could react further, the Beholder King struck again. It used soul possession, attacking the wolf's spirit directly and devouring half of its soul in an instant. The wolf let out a tortured scream as its body spasmed from the spiritual attack.

"Your time's up, mutt," growled the four-legged kaiju as it appeared behind the crippled wolf with terrifying speed. It unleashed a dark mud wave, black sludge surging over the wolf's body and pulling it into the depths. The mud gnawed at the wolf's flesh, dragging it deeper as it fought to stay above the surface.

Desperate, the wolf let out a final, enraged howl, releasing nine dark blue swords. The swords split midair, three striking the kaiju, two slashing at the Beholder King, and the remaining four targeting the mud to disrupt it just enough for the wolf to escape.

Dragging its broken body forward, the Great Electric Wolf charged toward the nine-headed serpent. One leg was devoured, and the other hung limp, leaving it barely able to move. Yet the wolf's eyes blazed with desperation, its mana reserves draining fast.

"Back for more, huh?" the serpent sneered, amused by the wolf's futile efforts. "These little mutts were supposed to be your backup? Don't worry, I'll deal with them too—just for you."

The serpent reared back, prepared to obliterate the remaining wolves. But before it could strike, every wolf in the vicinity collapsed, their souls drifting toward the Great Electric Wolf.

Jay's eyes widened. "What the hell?" he muttered, watching in disbelief as the fallen wolves' souls poured into their leader. The Great Electric Wolf's charred form began to glow, its broken flesh regenerating as it absorbed the life force of its kin.

The glow around the wolf grew brighter, its body shifting and transforming. The blackened fur was replaced by brilliant white fur streaked with glowing blue patterns, radiating power.

Jay activated Detection again, and the system's message appeared before his eyes.

[System - White Thunder King Wolf

[Rank - Master (evolved ) (lvl 61)]

[Special - Soul Consumption]

[Bloodline - Noble ]

[Skills - ???]

Jay stared at the system screen, his mind racing as he processed the wolf's unexpected evolution. "So it evolved by consuming souls..." he murmured. It was likely that the soul consumption skill was either activated by instinct during the battle or emerged as a desperate response to its near-death experience.

As Jay analyzed the data, the 9-headed serpent hissed and slithered backward toward the four-legged kaiju and Beholder King. For the first time, the three creatures stopped mocking their opponent. Their demeanor shifted into one of caution as they faced the newly transformed White Thunder King Wolf.

"I didn't expect this mutt to evolve..." the serpent muttered, a hint of frustration in its many voices.

The Beholder King floated closer, several of its eyes narrowing. "No... This is no ordinary evolution," it said in a sinister, measured tone. "That beast forcibly evolved by devouring the souls of its pack. While it gained a new special skill, its future is now crippled. It won't be able to evolve naturally again.*"

The 9-headed serpent growled in annoyance. "So it can only grow stronger by consuming more souls?"

"Precisely," the Beholder King confirmed. "Its only path forward is through relentless devouring. It may have gained strength now, but such power comes at a cost."

The four-legged kaiju stomped a massive paw into the ground, sending vibrations rippling through the corridor. "Doesn't matter," it rumbled. "What we need to focus on is that it has now reached Master Rank. We can't afford to underestimate it anymore."

The serpent's anger flared briefly before it settled, its many heads nodding in reluctant acceptance. "Tch, that sly mutt... It played us and lived. We need to be careful now."

The Beholder King's gaze remained fixed on the White Thunder King Wolf, its thoughts unreadable, though its creeping grin hinted at a sinister curiosity. The kaiju and serpent nodded grimly in agreement, their earlier bravado gone.

In unison, they readied themselves, the light-hearted banter replaced by battle focus.

The air in the corridor was electric—thick with tension and the scent of ozone. Lightning flickered along the fur of the White Thunder King Wolf, whose sleek, evolved form radiated menace. The three monsters opposite it—the 9-Headed Serpent, the 4-Legged Kaiju, and the Beholder King—no longer mocked their opponent. They knew they faced a cornered beast whose newfound power demanded their full attention.

The White Thunder King Wolf's blue-striped fur glowed with an ethereal light, each pulse of energy causing arcs of lightning to dance around its body. It snarled, exposing sharp fangs still crackling with residual sparks from the souls it consumed. No retreat. No surrender. It would fight until only one side remained standing.

Without warning, the wolf launched itself forward, a thunderous boom echoing in its wake as it accelerated to impossible speeds. Lightning surged from its claws, aiming straight for the 9-Headed Serpent.

"Time to put this mutt down!" the serpent hissed, activating Time Stop. For a fleeting moment—0.1 seconds—the entire battlefield froze. The wolf, mid-air, was locked in place. In that instant, the serpent's nine heads opened wide, charging elemental blasts of fire, ice, wind, and shadow.

Time resumed. All nine blasts erupted in unison, a rainbow of destruction barreling toward the wolf. But just before impact, the wolf vanished in a flash of blue light. Lightning teleportation.

"Where—?!" one of the serpent's heads hissed, confused.

The wolf reappeared directly above the serpent, releasing a devastating thunderbolt that struck with blinding force. The serpent screamed as electricity surged through its scales, the impact sending it sprawling. Smoke rose from charred scales, but the beast still stood—its Myth Armor having absorbed some of the damage.

The Kaiju roared, stomping the ground with enough force to cause a localized earthquake. The corridor trembled violently, and cracks spiderwebbed across the stone floor. The wolf stumbled, momentarily losing its footing.

That was all the opening the Kaiju needed.

With a deafening roar, the Kaiju unleashed its Multi-Laser Blast. Dozens of concentrated beams of light shot toward the wolf, tearing through anything in their path. Walls cracked, skeletons turned to ash, and the air itself seemed to sizzle from the heat.

The wolf barely dodged—several lasers grazed its side, scorching its fur and flesh. It let out a sharp growl of pain but retaliated instantly, summoning a lightning whip from its tail that lashed across the Kaiju's flank.

The Kaiju roared as electricity coursed through its massive body, but it quickly retaliated with a Super Sonic Beam. The blast hit the wolf squarely, throwing it against the far wall with a bone-rattling crash.

Before the wolf could recover, it felt a dark presence invade its mind.

"You belong to me now..." whispered the Beholder King as it activated Mind Possession. A crushing wave of psychic energy engulfed the wolf, paralyzing it momentarily. Its body trembled as the Beholder's eyes gleamed with malice, trying to pry into its very soul.

But the wolf wasn't defenseless.

A violent surge of soul energy erupted from the wolf's body, shattering the Beholder's psychic grip. The force of the backlash caused the Beholder King to reel back in shock, several of its eyes temporarily blinded by the soul's power.

"It deflected me?" the Beholder hissed, surprised and annoyed.

The White Thunder King Wolf rose to its feet, panting heavily. Its white fur shimmered with crackling arcs of lightning, and the air around it buzzed with tension. The damage it had taken was severe, but the wolf's spirit burned brighter than ever. It snarled, blue sparks igniting along its claws.

It howled, summoning a storm of electricity that filled the corridor with dazzling flashes of light. The 9-Headed Serpent recoiled as bolts of lightning struck from every direction, searing its flesh and temporarily disrupting its Toxic Wave defense.

The Kaiju lunged, intending to crush the wolf under its massive weight. But the wolf was ready. As the Kaiju's enormous paw descended, the wolf leapt into the air, flipping mid-flight, and struck the Kaiju with a lightning-infused claw strike. The blow was so powerful it left a glowing wound across the Kaiju's armored hide.

Realizing the wolf's strength could not be underestimated, the 9-Headed Serpent hissed in frustration. "Enough games! Time to finish this."

It activated Space Lock, freezing the space around the wolf, trapping it in a pocket of distorted reality. The wolf struggled, snarling as arcs of lightning crackled uselessly against the invisible barrier.

The Beholder King floated closer, all of its eyes glowing ominously. It prepared to release its most powerful attack—Eye of Doom, a ray capable of obliterating both body and soul.

"Goodbye, mutt," the Beholder whispered, a sinister smile curling along its grotesque face.

Just as the Eye of Doom fired, the wolf let out an earth-shaking howl. A surge of soul energy exploded outward, shattering the Space Lock and disrupting the Beholder's attack.

The Kaiju, sensing the tide turning, released its Dark Mud Wave, a pool of black sludge that slithered across the ground, threatening to trap the wolf. The wolf snarled and released 9 dark blue swords, each one splitting through the air with deadly precision.

Three swords pierced the Kaiju's thick hide, forcing it to stumble backward. Two more slashed toward the Beholder, causing it to retreat in shock. The rest sliced through the mud wave, briefly halting its advance.

With a furious snarl, the White Thunder King Wolf turned its attention to the 9-Headed Serpent. Its lightning-charged legs blurred as it dashed forward, evading the serpent's snapping jaws and coiling bodies.

The wolf released a devastating lightning beam, so fast and powerful that the 9-Headed Serpent barely had time to react. It raised its Myth Armor in defense, but the beam was too powerful. The armor cracked, and the serpent hissed in agony as electricity surged through its body.

The 9-Headed Serpent writhed in agony, its Myth Armor barely holding as the white-hot lightning licked through cracks, searing its flesh. Some of its heads shrieked, charred from the blast, while others hissed in rage. But just as the serpent faltered, the 4-Legged Kaiju charged forward, claws thundering across the ground.

The White Thunder King Wolf snarled, preparing to unleash another devastating attack, but the Kaiju roared, activating Soul Stare. For a split second, the wolf's glowing blue eyes locked with the Kaiju's monstrous gaze, and it felt its soul tremble. The world around it seemed to darken as the Kaiju's ancient power sank deep into its spirit, siphoning its strength. The wolf staggered, struggling to maintain control as the Kaiju's Soul Devour siphoned away slivers of its essence.

Before the wolf could recover, the Beholder King floated above, its many eyes glowing with sinister intent. It unleashed its Mind Possession skill, drilling into the wolf's mind with psychic tendrils. The wolf howled in frustration, feeling its thoughts clouded and fragmented. Its legs faltered, as if it were drowning in a sea of mental illusions.

The Beholder's voice slithered through the wolf's thoughts.

"You fought well, but you are nothing more than a fleeting spark against us. Surrender your soul to oblivion."

The wolf shook its head violently, summoning all its will to resist the mind invasion. Sparks erupted from its fur, arcs of electricity dancing wildly as it tried to break free. But the 9-Headed Serpent struck before it could act. It unleashed a flurry of All Elemental Affinity Blasts, each of its nine heads spitting a barrage of multi-colored energy beams. Fire, frost, wind, poison, and more cascaded onto the wolf in a violent storm, forcing it to retreat step by step.

The Wolf's Lightning Armor flickered, barely shielding it from the devastating attacks. It retaliated with another lightning beam, aiming to blast through the serpent's wounded flank—but just as the energy surged forward, the 4-Legged Kaiju leaped in, slamming the wolf into the ground with a thunderous Topple skill. The floor cracked beneath the force, and the wolf let out a pained yelp as its body was driven deep into the shattered stone.

The Kaiju roared triumphantly and followed with a Dark Mud Wave, black sludge rushing forward to engulf the wolf. The sludge stuck to the wolf's fur, burning it with corrosive energy, and began dragging it deeper into the floor like quicksand. The wolf struggled to rise, its body sluggish and limbs heavy as the mud sapped its strength.

Hovering above, the Beholder King activated its Eye of Doom, focusing a concentrated ray of mental destruction onto the wolf's exposed mind. The wolf howled in agony, its soul teetering on the edge of collapse as the Beholder's psychic attack crushed its defenses. Every spark of energy it had left was dimming, fading beneath the relentless pressure.

Just as the wolf managed to channel the last of its mana into one final act of defiance, releasing 9 dark blue swords from its body—three aimed at each of its enemies—its hope was extinguished.

The 9-Headed Serpent sneered, activating Space Lock, freezing the swords mid-flight.

"Nice try, mutt," it hissed, "but you're finished."

The Kaiju swung its sharpened claws, smashing the suspended swords into pieces, while the Beholder King let loose a Super Laser Beam, striking the wolf's side and blasting it across the battlefield. The White Thunder King Wolf tumbled, rolling through shattered debris and coming to a stop, battered and broken.

The wolf lay in a heap, its once-glorious white fur now charred and stained by mud and blood. It struggled to rise, lightning flickering weakly around it, but its strength was gone. The corrosive mud clung to its body, eating away at its flesh, while the Beholder's mental attacks had left its soul in tatters.

The 9-Headed Serpent slithered forward, its heads looming above the fallen wolf. It hissed in triumph, venom dripping from its fangs.

"Your time ends here."

The Kaiju rumbled in agreement, standing beside the serpent, its eyes gleaming with the cold certainty of victory. The Beholder King hovered above, its crown of eyes radiating an eerie, oppressive aura.

"Let this be a warning to all who stand against us," it declared with a malevolent smile.

With a final, desperate growl, the White Thunder King Wolf tried to rise, but the Beholder King's Crown of Dominance locked it in place, crushing the last of its will. The Kaiju lunged forward, delivering a finishing blow with a Dark Beam, which pierced the wolf's heart, extinguishing its remaining life force.

The battlefield fell silent as the fallen wolf's body lay motionless, its glowing blue eyes fading to darkness.

The 9-Headed Serpent, 4-Legged Kaiju, and Beholder King stood victorious, their combined power overwhelming even the evolved White Thunder King Wolf.

"That was amusing," the serpent hissed, inspecting its wounds.

"Amusing, but dangerous," the Beholder King muttered, casting a wary glance at the lifeless wolf. "It forced us to use more power than expected."

The Kaiju grunted in agreement.

"Next time, we won't give it the chance to evolve."

Together, the three black-eyed titans turned away from the fallen wolf, as they approached jay .
