Chapter 13 - CHAPTER-15 : Skeleton Legion Dominates

The legions of undead began their ascent again, marching in perfect unison, the sound of bones clattering like a grim symphony echoing through the mountain. Behind them layed a field soaked with blood and littered with broken wolves the bodies that were unusable for jay , a grim reminder of what awaited anything foolish enough to oppose Jay's forces.

Jay kept a sharp eye on the path ahead as the wind howled around them. The closer they climbed to the summit, the colder and thinner the air became, but neither he nor the undead felt any discomfort. Pluto hovered beside him, his form flickering slightly, still riding the high of his victory over the Great Forest Wolf.

The undead army pressed forward, the moon casting a dim glow through the thick mist clinging to the slopes. The air grew colder with every step, and frost began to creep along the rocks, coating the path beneath their feet. The temperature dropped drastically, hinting that something unnatural lurked further up.

Jay's sharp senses were on edge. He knew the plateau ahead would not welcome them with silence. Soon, distant howls echoed through the cliffs again, their mournful calls bouncing off the jagged peaks. The wolves had not given up.

"They're regrouping," Jay muttered, his breath condensing in the frigid air.

The skeletal warriors kept a steady pace, their hollow eyes glowing faintly in the mist, clattering armor and weapons adding to the eerie soundscape. Adonis raised a hand, and his legion of skeletons halted, shields locking together into a solid wall as archers and mages positioned themselves behind it.

"They'll come soon," Adonis said grimly. "These mutts don't know when to quit."

Suddenly, the mist rippled, and a pack of Great Forest Wolves emerged from the shadows—hundreds of them, their glowing green eyes piercing through the night. They moved with unnerving speed, leaping across rocks and bounding down the slope toward the undead horde. Their sleek fur shimmered under the moonlight, and the icy air that accompanied them carried a sharp bite.

"Again?" Pluto grinned, hovering near Jay. "These dogs just don't learn."

Pluto when he looked at the wolves saw all of them were like the Great forest wolf he killed even jay was a bit surprised at first.

Adonis lifted his sword. "Archers—fire! Mages—release your spells!"

A storm of arrows rained down, followed by blazing fireballs, frost spikes, and bolts of dark magic from the skeletal mages. The front line of wolves tried to dodge, but many were caught mid-leap, their bodies bursting into flames or getting pierced by arrows.

Explosions of fire and ice scattered wolves across the battlefield, and the skeleton swordsmen rushed forward to meet the survivors. Their blades cut through fur and flesh, while shield bearers bashed into the wolves with unrelenting force, sending them flying into their packmates.

The undead army held firm despite the wolves' relentless assault. Even when limbs were torn from their bodies, the skeletons fought on, undeterred by pain or fear. Healing mages pulled damaged soldiers back to the rear, where their missing limbs were restored, ready to fight again.

Yet the wolves did not break. They pressed harder, driven by something far more dangerous than instinct—command.

Suddenly, the temperature plummeted even further, and a deafening howl tore through the night. Frost spread across the ground in an instant, and from the shadows emerged a massive, white-furred beast, towering over the other wolves. Its presence alone was enough to send a shiver through the undead forces.

Jay's gaze sharpened as the haunting howl echoed across the icy landscape. His detection skill activated, focusing on the towering, white-furred beast that commanded the battlefield. The moment his system registered the information, the glowing text appeared in his mind:

[System - Alpha Ice Wolf King ]

[Rank - General (lvl 55)]

[Special - None ]

[Bloodline - None ]

[Skills - ??? ]

"Level 55... General-rank." Jay muttered under his breath. His jaw tightened slightly as he processed the threat. "No special abilities or bloodlines, but its level alone makes it dangerous for our legions only the commanders can take part in this fight ."

The Alpha's Ice Wolf King's frigid breath rolled out like a creeping blizzard, chilling the battlefield. Frost crystals spread across the earth with every slow step it took. It's blue, glowing eyes locked onto the undead legion—and there was no hesitation in its gaze, only pure, ruthless intent.

Jay glanced at his commanders, his expression serious. "Anyone willing to put this mutt down? It's stronger than Pluto, and I can't handle it alone." His eyes shifted between them. "I think it would be best if the 9-Headed Serpent, the 4-Legged Kaiju, and the Beholder King dealt with it."

The three creatures exchanged glances, each brimming with confidence.

The 9-Headed Serpent was the first to respond, its many heads hissing in unison.

"We'll make sure to squash that mutt, Master."

The 4-Legged Kaiju rumbled, its heavy voice carrying across the battlefield.

"It will be me who kills it first, Serpent. Don't get in my way."

Before the argument could escalate, the Beholder King floated between them, its massive central eye gleaming with amusement.

"You two keep fighting, if you must. By the time you're done bickering, I'll already have its head delivered to Master."

The tension between the monstrous beings simmered, but each was eager to prove their strength in battle. Jay gave them a curt nod, satisfied with their resolve. "Then go. Make it quick."

The tension in the air grew heavy as the Alpha Ice Wolf King stood atop the snowy ridge, its piercing blue eyes glowing with primal fury. Frost clung to its pure white fur as a cold mist swirled around it, and the ground beneath its massive paws began to freeze. With a deep growl, the beast bared its fangs, ready to defend its territory.

Jay gave a slight smirk from a safe distance, observing as his three black-eyed generals stepped forward.

The 9-Headed Serpent slithered forward first, its massive, scaled body shimmering with a toxic gleam. All nine heads hissed in unison, each glowing with an elemental hue. Without hesitation, it unleashed 9-headed blast waves—a simultaneous explosion of fire, ice, lightning, wind, and dark energy that roared toward the wolf like a tidal wave of destruction.

The Alpha Ice Wolf King responded with a Glacial Howl, freezing the air and forming a thick ice barrier to shield itself. The icy shield shattered under the serpent's elemental onslaught, sending shards flying in all directions. The wolf lunged forward with Frozen Blitz, a blur of frost aimed at the serpent's central head.

But the serpent's Myth Armor activated, absorbing the impact with ease. "Pathetic." The serpent's heads writhed as it activated Space Lock, pinning the wolf in place mid-air. The wolf's claws scraped uselessly against the invisible barrier as it struggled to move.

With the wolf momentarily immobilized, the 4-Legged Kaiju stomped forward, its steps causing the ground to rumble. It let out a deafening roar, sending waves of distortion through the battlefield as it unleashed Earthquake. The ground cracked and shifted, causing the wolf to lose its balance the moment the space lock lifted.

The Alpha Ice Wolf King tried to retaliate with a desperate Frost Fang Assault, slashing at the kaiju's massive frame. But the beast's Absorb skill activated, nullifying the physical attacks. "You'll need more than that, mutt," the kaiju growled. With a rumbling snarl, it fired a Multi-Laser Blast from its gaping maw—beams of dark energy searing through the wolf's fur and freezing blood.

Hovering above the battlefield, the Beholder King observed every movement with cold precision. Its many eyes glowed, processing information faster than any creature could react. "Enough games," it muttered, activating Crown's Dominance. A wave of crushing pressure fell upon the Alpha Ice Wolf King, forcing it to its knees.

The wolf howled in desperation, activating Wolf's Dominion to enhance its strength. For a brief moment, it shook off the oppressive force of the Beholder King's aura and lunged toward the floating monstrosity with killing intent.

But the Beholder King anticipated the move. One of its eyes lit up, unleashing Eye of Doom, a concentrated ray of mental energy that struck the wolf's mind like a hammer. The Alpha Ice Wolf King staggered, disoriented and weakened, just as the Beholder activated Weaken Defense to strip away its remaining resistance.

The 9-Headed Serpent coiled around the wolf in a blur, each of its heads snapping toward it with deadly precision. "Time to end this," the serpent hissed. It unleashed a Super Toxic Wave, drenching the wolf in venom that burned through its ice armor like acid. The wolf howled in agony, its movements sluggish and faltering as the toxin sapped its strength.

The 4-Legged Kaiju followed up with a devastating Topple, crashing into the wolf with earth-shattering force and sending it sprawling across the snow. Blood and frost mixed on the ground as the once-proud Alpha Ice Wolf King lay broken, unable to stand.

Floating above it all, the Beholder King delivered the final blow. With a flick of its many eyes, it fired a Super Laser Beam, a searing black ray that pierced through the wolf's skull and ended its misery.

The battlefield fell silent as the snow settled. The lifeless body of the Alpha Ice Wolf King lay in the crater it had been smashed into, its once-majestic white fur now charred and soaked with venom.

The 9-Headed Serpent chuckled. "Not much of a challenge."

The 4-Legged Kaiju snorted. "I told you I'd kill it first, serpent."

The Beholder King's many eyes blinked lazily. "I delivered the finishing blow. The rest of you are just noisy."

Jay, watching from a distance, gave a satisfied nod. The three generals had obliterated their foe with ease. They turned back toward him, their forms towering in the snow.

"Well done," Jay called out. "Now it's time to decide the battle between the skeletons and wolves . We're also almost at the top."

The mountain slopes became a blood-soaked battlefield as the skeleton legion clashed with the Great Forest Wolves, following the collapse of their leader—the Alpha Ice Wolf King. Even with the death of their general imminent, the warrior-ranked wolves fought savagely, refusing to surrender. Their snarls echoed through the cold air, but the relentless undead forces met their fury head-on, turning the clash into a one-sided massacre.

Behind the shield wall, the undead mages began their incantations. Chilling winds and scorching fireballs filled the air as ice shards, fire storms, and arcs of lightning rained down on the wolves. A pack of them attempted to evade the elemental barrage, leaping between rocks and snowbanks—but the narrow terrain offered little room to maneuver.

The mages synchronized their attacks: an ice wave swept across the front line, freezing wolves mid-leap, and a split second later, fireballs detonated among them, shattering their frozen bodies into fragments. Cries of agony echoed as wolves caught in the blast were reduced to ash or broken shards of bone.

Taking advantage of the mages' destruction, skeletal swordsmen surged forward in formation. Armed with rusted but deadly sharp blades, they slashed through the wolves' thick hides. One wolf snapped at a skeleton's arm, biting through it—but before it could react, two more skeletons converged, stabbing their blades deep into the wolf's ribs. The beast collapsed in a heap, growling in its final moments as the skeletons pressed on.

The skeletal shielders followed close behind, raising their heavy shields to block and repel any surviving wolves still frantically attacking. In one swift motion, a shielder bashed a wolf with its shield, sending the creature flying back into a cluster of its allies, breaking their ranks.

Wolves fell one after another, their bodies piling up as the skeletons advanced methodically. The undead soldiers knew no fear, no fatigue—only their master's orders to destroy. Even the most savage wolf, biting and thrashing, found itself outmatched by the cold precision of the skeleton legion.

Damaged skeletons dragged themselves back to the healing mages, who reattached limbs and restored broken bones, sending them back into the fray. Some heavily injured undead, missing legs or arms, crawled across the snow and bit into the wolves' ankles, crippling their enemies in grotesque acts of resilience.

As the skeletal legion tightened its grip on the battlefield, the morale of the wolves began to crumble. Their leader—the Alpha Ice Wolf King—was locked in a hopeless battle against Jay's generals, and with no guidance, the warrior-ranked wolves found themselves outmatched and leaderless. One by one, the beasts attempted to retreat, but the archers hunted them down with precision shots.

The snow beneath the legion turned dark with blood. Skeletons smashed through the retreating wolves, hacking and tearing without mercy. Those wolves that made it further down the slopes were pursued by swift undead hounds, summoned from the legion's reserves. Their cold, glowing eyes matched the fearsome wolves, but these skeletal beasts were relentless, dragging down the few survivors with gnashing, bone-crunching jaws.

As the sounds of battle faded, only the undead remained standing on the bloody slopes. The once-proud Great Forest Wolves, defenders of the plateau, were reduced to lifeless heaps of fur and blood. The skeletons surveyed the battlefield without emotion, methodically gathering broken comrades and preparing for the next march.

Jay looked down from his vantage point, taking in the devastation. His forces had suffered minimal losses, thanks to the well-organized formations and healing support. The Great Forest Wolves, mighty as they were, had stood no chance against the relentless, unfeeling horde.

From the battlefield below, Adonis called out, "The wolves are finished, master. We stand ready for the next challenge."

Jay gave a slight grin, his gaze turning upward to the plateau looming just beyond the next ridge. "Let's keep moving. There's no stopping us now."

The undead forces reorganized swiftly, shields and weapons clinking in rhythm as they prepared to ascend further.Jay also collected the intact dead bodies and stored them in his inventory before moving forward.

As Jay, his legion, and commanders ascended the final stretch of the mountain, they reached the plateau and were greeted by the sight of a massive ruined temple. Its towering walls, though cracked and broken in places, hinted at the grandeur it once held. Faded carvings adorned the stone, depicting ancient battles and forgotten rituals. Despite its deteriorated state, the structure still exuded an ominous and ancient presence, as if something powerful had long slumbered within.

A crushing pressure filled the air, radiating from the temple and weighing down on everything around them. Even the undead soldiers, immune to fear, seemed to move with a subtle hesitation. Jay's gaze scanned the entrance, sharp and calculating. He knew whatever lay beyond these walls would be unlike anything they had faced so far.

Suddenly, Amelios, his ghastly advisor, drifted closer. His blackened eyes gleamed with caution as he whispered, "Master, I sense something powerful within these ruins—stronger even than Adonis. It might be wise to tread carefully." His voice carried a low hiss, heavy with warning. "We should test the waters first—send in the skeletons and zombies. If there are traps or wards, it's better they trigger them before we proceed."

Jay nodded slowly, his mind already working through the possibilities. If this thing was stronger than Adonis, it was not to be taken lightly. "We'll do it your way, Amelios. Skeletons and zombies take point."

With a flick of his wrist, Jay issued the silent command. The undead vanguard began to march forward, their bones rattling and fleshless feet dragging across the stone ground. They advanced in unison toward the temple's entrance, disappearing into the gloom beyond its broken gates, ready to reveal any hidden dangers waiting within.

Jay stood silently, arms crossed, his commanders flanking him. His cold gaze lingered on the darkened ruins ahead, the air heavy with anticipation. The ruined temple held its secrets, and soon enough, he would uncover them.
