Aria finished dressing her wound, carefully securing the bandage with a few precise motions(she was a medic).
She then arranged everything back into her bag, methodically packing each item into a designated place, ensuring everything was organized and within reach when needed.
As she arranged her supplies, her eyes fell upon her small gun, nestled in the bottom of the bag. Ryan had said he had loaded it for her, and she felt a surge of gratitude towards him.
Aria picked the gun out from the bag, feeling weight in her hand. She checked the gun, ensuring the magazine was full and the safety was off. She was satisfied seeing that it was truly loaded, just as Ryan had said.
She closed her bag but still held the gun, resting her back against the wall as she sat on the bed. Her eyes wandered to Ryan's peaceful face, his features relaxed in sleep. His chest rasing and falling with each breath.
Aria's gaze lingered on Ryan's face, taking in the subtle lines on his forehead, the faint scar above his left eyebrow.
"Snap out of it" Aria whispered to herself, shaking her head.
The cabin was quiet, the only sound was Ryan's gentle snores that filled her ears like a soothing melody. Aria sat beside him, her back against the wall and her eyes moving back to the gun in her hand.
The door to the room creaked open. The sound echoed through the silence, making Aria Snap her eyes towards it. Ryan, still fast asleep beside her, stirred slightly but didn't wake.
Aria quickly raised her gun, her finger resting on the trigger and Her eyes going onto the figure standing in the doorway before falling on the stranger familiar face, her mind had already raced with worst-case scenarios.
Relief washed over her as she recognized their mysterious roommate.(^^)
"You gave me a fright," Aria whispered, lowering her gun back to her lap,Ryan shifted beside her, still asleep.
The stranger walked deeper into the room, his footsteps echoing off the wooden walls. The creaking floorboards beneath his feet seemed to groan in protest at his weight, the sound resonating through the silence.
The stranger leaned against the wall. "Your boyfriend is asleep," He said smoothly.
Aria's eyes narrowed, her brow furrowing in annoyance as she sat beside Ryan, her gun still held tightly in her hand.
"He's not my boyfriend," Aria corrected firm.
The stranger raised an eyebrow, a hint of amusement dancing in his dark eyes.
"Then what are you guys, siblings?" The stranger joked, he can clearly see there was no resemblance or anything that could link them as siblings but he wasn't hundred percent sure, this days you can see twins and not know they are actually related.(^^)
Aria's gaze turned icy and she gritted her teeth together.
"It's none of your business," she countered."We don't even know your name," Aria added.
Aria and the stranger fell into silent with a tense glaring contest. Aria's eyes was narrowed, her gaze piercing as she studied the stranger emotionless face. she looked at him with a mix of wariness, curiosity, and suspicion.
The stranger stare was indifferent as he looks at her, the air was thick with tension and heavy with questions and unease.
Aria's hold on her gun tightened, her finger resting lightly on the trigger, waiting for any funny movement from the stranger.
The stranger's eyes flickered to the gun clutched in Aria's hand, his expression unchanging. No fear, no concern, just a neutral acknowledgment, as if assessing the situation.(^^)
"Samuel," the stranger said, his deep voice calm and even.
"Huh?" Aria asked, raising a brow, she didn't hear him well.
Samuel parted his lips with a sigh, the sound escaping his lips."Samuel is my name," he repeated, louder this time.
"Samuel," Aria whispered, her lips barely moving.
Samuel's expression remained neutral, his face was like a calm mask.
"Aria," Aria said her name to him back, her tone cautious as she tried to read his expression.
Samuel's gaze lingered on Aria before a grin spread across his face like a psycho.
"Nice to meet you, Aria," Samuel said, his lips curling upwards. The soft rise and fall of Ryan's chest was a stark contrast to the tension in the room, his gentle snores filling the silence.
Aria's mind raced with questions at how Samuel was behaving, he was like a ticking bomb, the small torch light danced across Samuel's rugged features, casting a little shadow on his chiseled face.
"Is this your cabin?" Aria asked, cutting through the silence, her voice was laced with caution and her hand still rested on the grip of her gun.
Samuel leaned back to the wall "No, just passing through," He replied, folding his hands together on his chest, his jacket sleeves riding up to reveal scars on his forearms.
Aria's eyes went on the scars before returning to Samuel face."Where are you headed?" Samuel's eyes drifted toward the window, looking out to the darkness outside.
"We are headed to the north," Aria said. "You can join us."
Samuel's gaze drifted to Ryan, who was still asleep and snoring like a pig(^^)
"Your boyfriend?" Samuel said with amusement.
Aria's face flushed, her cheeks burning with embarrassment."I said he's not my boyfriend," she replied with a pout.
Samuel's lips curled into a sly smile, his eyes crinkling at the corners across his rugged features. Aria rolled her eyes, a smile also tugging at the corner of her mouth.
"You are unbelievable," Aria said, her eyes sparkling as she gazed at Samuel, who was also smiling.
"Maybe a little," Samuel admitted, his deep voice low and smooth, like a rich, velvety chocolate.
Aria shook her head a little, Samuel wasn't bad at all, if this was his behavior.
