Aria swings her backpack onto her back, wincing in pain as the movement jarred her injured leg and wrist. The weight and straps of the pack dug into her shoulders, cutting into her skin. She gritted her teeth, swallowing her pain.
"I've got to get out of here," Aria muttered to herself barely audible over the creaking of the old wooden floor on the other room, she can't be a princess in distress, always waiting for Ryan to save.
With a deep breath, Aria pushed herself off the bed, her good leg trembling beneath her.while her injured leg protested, sending a sharp pain shooting through her calf and She bit back a cry, refusing to give in to distress.
Aria took a deep breath, steeling herself for the pain that would come with the movements. She carefully picked up her gun and small torchlight from the bed, her injured hand trembling as she pick up the torch. The torch's light cast a glow on the walls.
She held the small torchlight in her injured hand, the light flickering shadows on the walls and Her gun was firmly grasped in her good hand, her finger resting lightly on the trigger, ready to blow anything up.(^^)
With a grimace, Aria limped and hobbled to the wall, using it for support as she made her way out of the room, her injured leg sending waves of sharp pain.
Aria took another step forward, her injured leg buckling beneath her. She grabbed the doorframe, steadying herself. Her wrist throbbed in protest, the pain radiating up her arm like fire.
"Damn it," Aria cursed with anger as the hot pain from her wrist shot through her arm like a lightning bolt, radiating up to her shoulder and down to her fingertips. She winced, her eyes screwing shut for a moment, her brow furrowed in agony, before she pushed open the door slowly, the creaking hinges echoing through the tense silence like a scream.(^^)
Aria pushed open the door wider, her gun at the ready while her injured leg trembled, giving her a reminder, am still her bitch, it taunts(^^).
Her small torchlight spilled into the room and the faint light landed on Ryan and Samuel, who stood face to face, their bodies tense, their fists clenched, as if they were ready to exchange blows. The air was thick with tension.
"Are you fucking kidding me?" Aria whispered loudly, She couldn't believe, she had thought they were cooperating for their safety,Her injured wrist throbbed in protest, still holding the torch light.
Ryan and Samuel's eyes snapped towards Aria, their expressions was a mixture of surprise and tension. They had been so engrossed in their heated argument that they had let their guard down, not hearing the creaking of the door as Aria opened it.
"I said are you guys kidding me?" Aria whispered again loudly with wide eyes, She can't still wrap her head around this situation.
Ryan swiftly walked past Samuel, brushing shoulders with him in a swift and forceful movement as he quickly moved towards Aria, who was struggling to stand with her injuries, her body swaying precariously.
"Why are you out?" Ryan asked with concern as he closed the distance between them, his words tumbling out in a low and rapid speed with worry.
As he reached Aria, he wrapped his hand around her waist to support her, his touch warm and reassuring.
"I can handle myself," Aria's eyes flashed with defiance as she said that,"Am not a damsel in distress," She added, her voice firm although her body betrayed her, swaying slightly to lean against Ryan's supportive grip.
She didn't want to always depend on someone, she was a captain, for God's sake. She thought to herself, memories of her military training and leadership roles flashing through her mind.
"I know you can handle yourself, Aria," Ryan said with a sigh. "But you're hurt. Let me help." His eyes scanned her injuries with worry at the swelling of hey leg that was wrapped around the bandage.
Aria's lips parted to for a word and to protest but a low, menacing growl echoed through the room, sending a shiver down their spines.
"Grrrr..." The sound seemed to come from all directions, bouncing off the walls of the room.
The torchlight in Aria's hand trembled slightly as she moved it towards the source of the noise.
"Grrrrrrrr"
Ryan's grip on his gun tightened, his knuckles turning white as he scanned the shadows where the torch wasn't reaching, searching for any sign of movement. His eyes darted back and forth, his pupils constricting to adjust to the dim light. The air was thick with tension.
Samuel creaked his neck, the sound echoing through the tense silence like a twig snapping.(^^)
"Show time," Samuel said low and even, his own eyes scanning the room for the source of the growling noise. His hand clenching, ready from a good fight.
Aria's heart pounded in her chest, her pulse racing with anticipation. Her breathing was shallow.
The silence was oppressive, heavy with unspoken threats, waiting for the unknown threat to emerge from the darkness.
"Grrrrrrr" The growling grew louder, echoing off the walls, shaking the dust from the old floor. The sound sent shivers down their spines and made their skin crawl.
A pair of glowing eyes appeared in the darkness, piercing through the shadows like two lanterns in the night. The eyes seemed to bore into their souls.
"What the...?" Aria breathed, her voice barley audible, those damned eyes, she thought, her heart pounding in her chest as she held her gun tightly,
Ryan's grip on Aria's waist tightened, supporting her to prevent her from falling or stress her injuries. His hand was warm and reassuring, gently wrapping around her.
"Watch out!" Ryan suddenly yelled as a razor sharp leg stabbed into the ground mere inches from Samuel's legs, sending shivers down his spine. The sound of scraping on concrete echoed through the room.
