The tension in the cabin was so thick that even a knife couldn't cut through it. Aria's eyes keeps moving back and forth between Ryan's darkened face and Samuel's smug one.
Ryan's jaw was clenched and his eyes were narrowed into slits while Samuel on the other hand was smirking. His broad shoulders were relaxed but his posture was in a stance, ready for a fight.
Aria's could feel the aura radiating from Ryan but Samuel's nonchalant attitude only added to her growing unease.
"Guys, stop" Samuel's grin widened at Aria as she tried to stop their glaring contest . "What's the matter, sweetheart? Can't handle a little banter?"
Ryan's face darkened further, his eyes blazing with anger. "You're pushing your luck, Samuel," Ryan warned, his deep voice low and menacing.
Samuel's grin never wavered. "Oh, I'm shaking in my boots," he replied with sarcasm.
Just as it seemed like Ryan was about to lunge at Samuel, a loud crash echoed from the other room, shaking the cabin's wooden frame.
"Crash!" The sound sent shockwaves through the cabin, causing the small torch light to flicker wildly.
Aria, Ryan, and Samuel's eyes and heads snapped towards the sound in unison. The loud noise shattered the tense atmosphere, replacing it with alarm.
Samuel pushed off the wall, effortless, his broad shoulders rolling forward with ease. "Looks like we have an unwanted visitor," he said with a smile and amusement.
Aria's panicked eyes shifted to Samuel who was smiling like a lunatic, Why the fuck is he smiling? she thought.
"Are you kidding me?" Aria whispered with annoyance, they were in potential danger, why was Samuel acting like a psycho.
Samuel's grin was truly that of a madman, as he said nonchalant. "Just stating the obvious," Every single time this bastard opens his fucking mouth, he spits out rubbish, Ryan's jaw clenched in anger. "This isn't a stupid joke, Samuel," Ryan said menacing.
The psycho's grin did not shift as he stood amidst the tension, "Oh, I know it's not," Samuel said with sarcasm."But what's life without a little excitement."The muscles in Ryan's neck tensed,He thought Aria was crazy but this Samuel of a guy was a damned lunatic.
Aria's head shook as she rolled her eyes at Samuel, her long and curly brown hair rustling with the movement. "You're impossible," She whispered with frustration.
Ryan lean and muscular body stood up from the bed and towers over the room. "Stay here and keep your gun close," Ryan said to Aria with concern.
Aria nodded, her injured wrist and leg throbbing in pain and a faint wince crossed her face. "Be careful," she said.
Samuel chuckled, walking out of the room, his boots echoing off the wooden floor. "We don't have time for love birds," Samuel called out with a grin.
"Shut up, Samuel," Both Ryan and Aria said in unison, their voices echoing off the cabin's wooden walls.
"Oh, come on, love birds. Don't be so serious," Samuel teased. Ryan sighed, his jaw clenched, he haven't met anyone so unserious. "That's it, Samuel," Ryan looked back at Aria, his expression serious.
"Shoot whatever you feel is a threat ," Ryan said and Aria nodded, her eyes scanning Ryan's face."Okay," Aria said.
Ryan's gaze lingered on Aria before turning to Samuel. "Let's move."
Samuel chuckled, "Finally, some action," he said with anticipation as Ryan followed him with a clenched jaw, the tension between them intense.
Ryan drew out his gun, the metal glinting in the dim light and the sound of the safety been unlocked echoing through the room like a ticking time bomb.
Samuel stance was confident as he squared his shoulders,"Ready for this?" Samuel asked low.Ryan face was set in a determined expression and he nodded curtly.
They pushed open the door and entered the other room, the silence was shattered by the creaking of the old wooden floor as they carefully walked through, the sound was like a death knell.
The scene that greeted them was so chaotic, the little furniture that was in the cabin was overturned and shattered glass well littered on the floor, crunching beneath their feet.
Samuel's eyes scanned the room, taking in every detail, his gaze lingering on the splintered wood and torn fabric.
"Looks like our unwanted visitor made themselves at home," Samuel said with sarcasm, his eyes scanning the room with annoyance.
Ryan's jaw twitched, his eyes scanning the room with a mix of frustrated anger and caution, "What kind of mess have they made?"Ryan muttered, moving deeper into the room, his footsteps echoing off the walls.
The only light came from the moon, its glow streaming through the shattered window, casting some light to the dark room.
"Get the fuck out, fucker!" Samuel suddenly shouted, his voice resounding off the walls, almost causing the windows to rattle.
Ryan's head snapped towards the idiot, his eyes wide with surprise, Can't this fool just shut it, Ryan's jaw clenched in frustration.
"Jesus, can't you just shut the fuck up?" Ryan hissed low and even, he didn't want whatever was with them hear as he said to Samuel with irritation.
The silence in the room was oppressive, heavy with tension and the air thick.
The shadows that was been casted by the moonlight seems to writhe and twist on the walls like living darkness.
Samuel's face twisted in anger, his eyes blazing with fury, his nostrils flaring, and his lips curled into a snarl.
"Sorry, but I'm sick of this crap," Samuel said with venom, he wanted action, not hide and seek.
Ryan shook his head in annoyance, his eyes scanning the room for any sign of danger, his grip on his gun tightening.
"Not now, Samuel," Ryan said low, in fear of drawing whatever was with them attention.
"I'm tired of hiding," Samuel snapped, his voice rising and he clenched his fist.
"We're not hiding, idiot" Ryan corrected "We're strategizing," he clarified looking at Samuel in the eyes.
Samuel scoffed, "Strategizing?" he repeated with sarcasm.
"That's just a fancy word for hiding,"
