The morning sun filtered through the sheer curtains, casting a warm glow on the luxurious bedroom. Jace stirred, his body slowly awakening to the softness of the carpet beneath him. For a moment, he lay still, disoriented by the unfamiliar comfort that enveloped him.

Shivering slightly as the cold wind of the open window ran over his uncovered body his eyes abruptly shot open. His gaze swept across the room from his tilted vantage, taking in the elegant furnishings and tasteful decor. This was a far cry from the cramped, dilapidated apartments of the LA slums he had grown up in.

He couldn't help but marvel at the opulence surrounding him, a stark contrast to the gritty reality he had known for so long. As he slowly sat up from the ground, his senses fully alert now, he noticed the subtle scent of lavender lingering in the air, a sharp contrast to the stench of the cell he was in a day ago.

He ran his fingers through the soft carpet, marvelling at the smoothness, something he had never known before. Looking out of the open window what met his gaze was the reflection of the sun on the pool. Lost in his thoughts he only snapped out of it when he caught a figure waving at him.

Focusing his gaze what met his sight was a curly-haired blonde waving at him from the neighbouring garden. From what he could tell she seemed to be around his age but what caught his eyes was her bikini that hugged her curves. Mesmerised by her figure for a moment he was a little late to react and wave back.

Seeing him finally react to her greeting a small smile appeared on her face as she elegantly entered her pool. Seeing this Rakim promptly got up from the ground throwing the blanket on the bed. Ignoring the little interaction with the neighbour he went to the bathroom and went through his morning routine.

Looking into the mirror at his messy dread he was further determined to get them fixed. Right now It looks like a wild lion's mane that hasn't seen much care for a while. He wanted to keep his hair long for sure but it has to be a lot neater. Looking at his handsome appearance in the mirror he decided he needed to take care of it now that he's entering the entertainment scene.

Splashing some cold water on my I quickly finished up what I needed to do and got dressed. My closet didn't magically get filled overnight leaving me little choice on what to wear. Ella seemingly didn't know what clothes to get me so she played it safe by getting me three sets of joggers.

Taking a seat at my desk I quickly power on the PC immediately logging into my Dimond account. Looking at the statistics of the song it was a little lacklustre as I only have around a hundred listens on Spotify. YouTube was dead because I have not uploaded there yet however, Amazone Music and Apple also have zero listens.

{You need to figure out how to go viral quickly if you want more than a small cult following,} Rex suddenly said catching me off guard as my morning had been so serene that I almost forgot about him.

'I know but how do I do that? not like there is a manual,' I responded with a sigh shutting down the PC no longer needing it. Without having the backing of a label it is hard for new artist to make their songs known.

Walking down to the kitchen what greeted me was a note left behind by Ella as she left for work early in the morning. The note said that she left breakfast in the fridge for me to eat. Only now did I realise that It was already noon meaning I wasted half of my day just sleeping.

In the fridge was a bowl of yoghurt with bits of oats, muesli and fruits in it. Taking it without thought I didn't waste time digging in having such a fancy breakfast for the first time in my life. The taste is surprisingly good catching me off guard as I was expecting rich people's food to taste bad. Not sure why but in my mind rich people just make sure their food looks good and don't focus on taste.

"Welcome to Alvita's, I'm her what can we do for you?" A dark-skinned woman dressed in a vibrant Reggae dress told me the moment I entered the shop.

She looks to be in her mid-thirties terminating a mature yet sexy charm as the long braids cascaded from her head. Her bright smile instantly made me feel welcome as I shook hands with her. The shop had three more women who were currently attending to their customers.

"Can you fix that?" I asked her with a hint of helplessness as I took off my hood revealing my mane. Her look of shock as she looked at my hair was comical especially when she looked at one of her friends for confirmation.

She went on to walk around me getting a 360 view of my hair which was funny with our height difference. My height of 6'2 and her height of 5'9 forced her to stand on her tippy toes to get a better view. That didn't stop her enthusiasm as she promptly pulled me to a chair forcing me to sit.

"This will take a while hope you don't have any other plans," She stated with a smile as she promptly got to work on my hair. The first thing she did was clean my hair going through a lot of different steps. From washing to shampooing, conditioning and rinsing she did it all.

My free-falling dreads looked shiny by the time she was done but they looked as if they could fall apart any moment now. Having spent thirty minutes just washing and massaging my scalp with different creams and oils it was finally time to retwist. Having to watch my hair slowly lose shape was a heartbreaking sight for sure.

Using her crochet kit she quickly started the process of retwisting after shortening the dreads. This process was both painful and mind-numbing taking a total of 2 hours. At some point three of the women in the stores were just working on my head. It was worth it though as the dreads on top of my head now looked crispy hanging to just above my eye level.

Spending another 20 minutes under the dryer hood the wax in my dreads quickly settled. I wasn't done though as Alvita promptly dyed the tips of my dreds a light shade of dark blue under my request of course. Getting an easy hightop fade from the only barber in the saloon my look was finally complete.

Looking at myself in the mirror I felt a lot more confident in my looks as I lightly shook my head. My thin dreads now looked a lot neater as they trickled down from my head. My sharp fade emphasised them further making my blueish green eyes pop more. It is safe to say that I've fully unlocked my looks now that I've gotten myself cleaned up.

"Cheers Auntie," I told Alvita as I got up from the saloon chair feeling myself a little. Promptly reaching into my cross bag I pulled out five bills of hundreds paying for the four hours of hair treatment.

"No worries," She replied with a bright smile flicking one of my locks admiring her work. Quickly thanking the rest of the people who helped with my hair I promptly left but not before dropping a benjamin in the tip jar.
