"Leon you have to see this," One of the Gorillas Young G's stated with excitement directly jumping up from the couch he was sitting on. The stack of cash he was supposed to be holding for one of his homies directly fell to the ground. He didn't care though wanting to show his boss what was on his phone.
"Boy you better calm down quick or I'll get KR to get his belt out," Leon stated with an amused smile not bothered by the boy's sloppy actions. This was his trap hose where he liked to relax and only those in his inner circle and those he trusted could be there.
"Cuz he a lost cause his mama couldn't straighten him out n she go to church fr," A chubby black guy responded to lean causing a light laughter from the other members in the room. The boy who had jumped up was now burning up in shame regretting his rash actions and losing composure in front of his elders.
"You gonna show me or not," Leon asked after noticing the fact that the boy in front of him was just standing there without moving. His words caused the boy to react promptly handing over his phone and pressing play on a YouTube video.
Leon was perplexed at first not understanding why he was being shown a YouTube video. However, upon hearing the first few notes of the song that started to play everything became clear and a bright smile appeared on his face. Watching the music video play out the rest of his guys who were at the shoot quickly stood up to watch with him.
This created a peculiar scene where the members of one of the most dangerous gangs in LA crowded around a tiny iPhone 8. None of them complained though as they eagerly watched the video waiting for their appearance in the video. They didn't have to wait long as the moment the beat picked up they found their scene.
{Spent a lot of time on that yard with them gorillas
Stood tall, did I let niggas hoe me? Quit being silly
I know for a fact your bitch pussy get wet for a nigga
'Cause I do it better, plus I'm doing better than niggas
I'm at home when I'm down there in Lexington nigga
'Bout the king, they gone drop you and who next to you nigga}
As the lyrics were sung one of them appeared on-screen standing off with Rex in the screen for the first part. None of their faces were visible as neon x's appeared over their eyes and their mouths when they smiled but they could still easily discern themselves. For the second part of the bar, they were dapping up Rex appearing much friendlier as they had a conversation.
Seeing themselves appear in a song that they genuinely liked they became excited. Their happiness was only further heightened when at some point in the background they were seen handing out provisions to some of the people on the block. Being notorious for being one if not the most dangerous gangs people had a bad perception of them thinking that they looked for trouble.
That couldn't be further from the truth as they genuinely care for their community trying their best to support their hood. The only time they get violent is when they have to stand on business and protect what's there but other than that they are nice guys. So having someone show their good traits for once instead of following the native meant a lot for them, especially for Leon.
"Tell everyone to play the video and share it on all social, lets send some support for my little brother," Leon stated with a smile to no one in particular directly announcing Rex as his little brother. No one questioned him as he was known for supporting people whom he liked. By himself, he has sent around 20 kids to college in the neighbourhood wanting something better for them than this life.

Whilst, Leon and his crew were excitedly replaying the song on various phones and sharing it on social media sites. Things were entirely different on the other side of town as palpable tension hung in the air at one of the Hammer's trap houses. Most of the members intensely watched a YouTube video on a flat screen with a serious expression.
"The feds say my name hot like when the oven on
Bitch, I came home to my lil' brother gone
Niggas say they looking for me, pull up in the Skuddy zone
Who said I'm a snitch? You just heard a lie from him
Better check the black and white, that paperwork will vouch for him
Zero toleration for that nigga, take his life from him
He don't want that pistol play? Okay I'll Tyson him"
"You sure that's Rakim," Kilroy asked to no one in particular seemingly not believing what he was seeing and hearing. He doesn't particularly like music, but the lyrics caught his attention. Sending a subtle glance at his boss Jabari he conveyed his suspicion.
Jabari simply brushed a hand over his bald head indicating they would talk about this later. "Yes that's him, I didn't believe it at first either," Jay replied with certainty describing how he came across it on Twitter. What piqued my interest was when he mentioned that people from the zoo were pushing the video.
"Is hanging with the Gorrilas now," one of the guys asked after recognising a few of their members in the video. That is despite the fact the special effects have done a pretty good job of hiding them. However, after years of dealing with all the major players in LA, it's hard for him not to recognise them.
"JT shot the video, he said they showed up when they were shooting scenes for that masked guy, that guy seems to be cool with Leon," Jay clarified not wanting to get caught in a lie even though he would very much like to completely break relations between Rakim and the gang.
His words caused some of the guys to break off into chatter about the gorilla's crew. Some were discussing Rakims song but they didn't have much love for it despite bopping their heads to it. They realised that he was rapping about leaving them behind literally stating 'On all ten, bitch I stood tall Show these disloyal niggas how to ball.'
His words were true since none of the guys bothered to reach out to him once they heard he was facing a serious time when he got picked up. Just because it's true doesn't mean they want someone pointing it so blatantly. Each of them seemed to seemingly find a lyric that resonated with them in a bad way.
"Hmm, you know who that is," Jabari asked cutting through the chatter that was quickly turning tense. His words seemed to remind the group that there was another person in the song.
"He goes by Rex, at first I thought it was Rakim but JT swears they are different people," Jay quickly answered relaying what JT had told him when they last talked. For some reason, JT was mad at Rakim over the video and readily shared all the information he had.
"We should do something about him, no one disrespects us," One of the guys stated even before Jabri had the chance to reply. He wasn't the only one angry as a few of the other guys also let their dissatisfaction known.
They felt a sense of betrayal even though Rakim had already left the gang which led to some sour feelings. Although none of them were particularly close with him having him doing better after leaving leaves a bad taste. Especially with the fact that they usually kill those who leave but had to make an exception for Rakim.
"Put 50 Benz on his head, let wolves out for a hunt," Jabari stated in a calm tone making eye contact with Kilroy who simply nodded. The rest of the guys simply nodded no one against his decision with some even eager to get their hands on the money.
