"What you think about these," I asked Rex motioning to a pair of tan camo Air Force ones. We had spent the past half hour just picking out random outfits at different stores in the mall. I figured since I was already here to get my hair done, I should probably have more to wear than just Hoodies and Joggers.

Rex was mostly acting as my stylist since he has some experience with this sort of stuff. According to him, I have a poor sense of style when it comes to picking out clothes that are not meant for working out. I think he is exaggerating since I also quite like wearing more formal clothes, just never had the occasion or opportunity to wear them in the hood. Everyone looks better when they dress up formally except those door-to-door salespersons and Jehovah's Witnesses.

{Yeah, they go well with your born fly outfit,} he replied prompting me to make up my mind as I put a pair of size 10's into my basket. There were already a few pairs of shoes and sneakers in the basket for me to bolster my empty closet.

Rex had somehow convinced me to spend 15K on clothes and shoes alone. We mainly picked out stuff from brands like Jordan, Amiri, Nike, Born Fly, and Armani. An investment into my future he calls it but to me it seems more like I'm going broke. If it wasn't for how fly I look in all these clothes and kicks I would have started crying.

"Yo excuse me," I called out to a nearby girl wearing a stripped staff uniform. The girl has decent looks if you ask me, but she has been giving me weird looks. If not for the fact I keep forgetting she exists whenever I spot a pair of shoes, I like I would've dipped a long time ago.

"Y'yes what can I help you with?" she responded with a warm smile appearing in front of me before I could blink. I was however slightly taken aback upon smelling the scent of lemons coming from her as she twirled a loc of her hair.

"You guys have a changing room I can use?" I asked her but she seemed to be lost in thought taking an extra second to compute my words. She eventually pointed towards the other end of the store as her face turned a shade of red.

{Haven't you noticed yet?} Rex asked me the moment I entered one of the changing rooms. Not knowing what he was talking about I simply pulled out the clothes I wanted to wear and immediately got changed.

"Wow you were right this looks great on me," I mumbled to myself after changing into my born fly outfit. Now dressed in a cream hoodie and matching joggers all held together by a safety pin tweed jacket. If it wasn't for the fact, that I haven't paid for my shoes, yet the look would be complete.

{Hey, don't ignore me,} Rex rudely shouted shifting my attention from checking my reflection in the mirror.

'I'm not ignoring you, but you should just speak your mind instead of quizzing me,' I responded as I stepped out of the changing room in my socks not willing to wear my dusty Timbs. I've had these for quite a while, and they have been through thick and thin with me hence their damaged state.

{Sigh, since you got your raggedy mane fixed you look ten times better, hence why that girl keeps staring at you,} He told me with an indignant tone causing me to notice the subtle glances I'm getting from those around me.

Like a piece of tasty meat, their starving eyes bore into me as they poorly hid their actions. Ignoring them I picked up my dirty Timbs and threw them into a nearby trash bin. Since these shoes are in the system after I got caught there is no point in keeping them. I might be paranoid but it's better to be safe than sorry since I don't believe that I won't end up getting into trouble.

Promptly picking up my shopping from the changing room monitor I made a b-line for the checkout counter. carrying around five bags from different stores I gained quite a few glances from those around the store. However, that might be due to the fact I'm waltzing around in my sock like a barbarian.

"That would be $1,020, sir," The smartly dressed guy at the counter told me as he scanned the last of my shoes. Promptly handing over the money with no fuss I unboxed my Forces and slipped them on.

Loving the fit, I put twenty dollars into the tip jar and picked up two new bags. At this point, the amount I'll be able to carry in my hands is quickly coming to an end. Stuffing the smaller bags into two of the bigger ones was the solution I came up with.

"Oh, your back, almost had me worried," Ella said the moment I entered the house looking up from her laptop. She was sitting in the kitchen Ilse with a bunch of documents littered about dressed in her PJs.

"Yeah, sorry about that. Lost track of time shopping," I replied, flashing a small smile as I juggled the bags in my hands. Seeing my actions Ella simply raised an eyebrow, as she scanned the numerous bags I carried.

"Shopping? You should have called me I would have gone with you," she replied with a disappointed expression as if I had committed a crime by not taking her with me.

"Don't you have work tho, I already dragged you along with me yesterday," I retorted in amusement as I realised that she would look for any excuse to not do work.

"It's just research to build a case, I have paralegals to do the grunt work for me," She defensively retorted with a huff seemingly offended by my comment. Hearing her confirm my assumption of her aversion to work made me wonder how she so quickly managed to handle my case.

"Anyways, what you think about my new kicks," I asked changing the topic from her poor work ethic to something I wanted to talk about.

"There ok I guess, you clean up nice, really cute with your hair," She replied with a teasing smile as she flicked one of my locs. With them now being much neater they look all the better. I might get them braided though once they grow out a bit, so they are not in the way.

"Cute?" I retorted but before I could continue speaking my thoughts a text notification on my phone caught my attention. Taking a closer look, it was a text from JT with an email attachment where the finished music video is.

Before she could clarify what, she meant by calling me cute instead of something else I interrupted her. "JT just sent me the music video," Hearing my words she snatched my phone from my hands before I could even blink.

Quickly clicking the attachment, we watched the video together seeing how the finished product turned out. Listening to the song whilst the video started rolling really brought things to life. Seeing how they edited all the shoots together brought a subtle smile to my face.

According to Rex, the finished music video didn't follow the same path as the one in his world. He didn't hate it though in fact he is quite happy about how it turned out. Especially with how the both of us were portrayed in the video. Unless you know that we are the same person you can't tell us apart as the mask gives full play to Rex's personality.
