Ning Shu waited until midnight before the school doctor finally arrived. He climbed in directly over the balcony and slowly made his way toward the room.
Ning Shu kept her dissatisfaction hidden and went to get tea and pour water for him on the couch.
The school doctor was wearing a black windbreaker again. She wasn't sure if it was the same one as before, but every time she saw it, she felt like she had a lot to say but didn't know where to start. The school doctor glanced at Ning Shu and lifted the plain boiled water, only to set it down again after a quick look. He pulled something from a leather cover and tossed it to Ning Shu. She hastily caught it and opened it, revealing a pistol.
This pistol felt light and easy to use, unlike the heavy one from before.
"This is a lady's pistol. There are two safety bolts; it's suitable for you," the school doctor said indifferently.
Ning Shu sniffled, looking at him with tears in her eyes. "Uncle, you really are a good person. I practically have no way to repay you…"
"I don't want you to repay with your body; you're ugly." The school doctor shot her a disdainful glance and handed her a magnetic card. "This is the location of a shooting range. You can go there to learn."
Ning Shu took the card, starting to feel uneasy. Why was he suddenly being so thoughtful? "Uncle, what do you need me to do?"
The school doctor grinned. "Of course, I need you to do something. You'll know when the time comes. Our relationship is simply one of mutual benefit."
Ning Shu thought: Please speak human language; I don't understand.
He got up and left, not through the balcony but the door. As Ning Shu watched his black windbreaker fluttering in the wind, she felt the urge to comment again.
Holding the gun, she felt a surge of strength and courage fill her. It all came from this exquisite little thing.
Ning Shu made all sorts of cool poses before putting the card away. No matter what the school doctor's goal was, at least she felt a bit safer with this in her possession.
The next day, Ning Shu didn't feel like going to school since she couldn't grasp the lessons anyway. It wasn't that her IQ was too low; the material was just too advanced. She felt like attending class was a waste of time.
So, she headed to the shooting range using the card to learn how to shoot. Following the address on the card, she found what was supposed to be the shooting range.
She expected a dazzling place or, at the very least, something classy. But what she found was a small retail store selling everything from pornographic magazines to all kinds of restricted products.
Was this really the shooting range? As soon as she walked in, an old man approached her with a smile that seemed a bit too lewd.
"U… uncle. I wanted to ask if this was a shooting range," Ning Shu stammered.
The old man's expression turned serious for a moment before he smiled again. "Young lady, this is just a grocery store, not a shooting range. You're in the wrong place."
But it was clearly this address! Ning Shu remembered that most connections required tokens or secret codes, so she pulled out the card the school doctor had given her. "Uncle, look at this."
The old man took it, glanced at it, and then rummaged through the messy floor to pull out a machine. He swiped the card on it.
After checking it, he said, "Come with me."
Ning Shu tucked the card away and followed the old man deeper into the store. He opened a thick door and said, "Go in."
