It was more like time stopped for Violet. She suddenly burst out laughing and Adrian arched his brows.
"Sir, can you imagine? When you talked, it sounded so much like 'marry me', funny right?" she chuckled.
"That was exactly what I said" he affirmed and Violet's jaw dropped. "So, she didn't mishear?" she thought.
"You are in need of help, and I'm also in need." he said, and she tilted her head.
"I have been asked, no that's not the right word." he paused.
"I have been ordered to get married. If I don't, it can cost me my company." he said and she parted her lips.
"I need a lady, who is willing to sign a contract with me, and divorce after a year." he explained and Violet looked at him, surprised.
"You want me to...."
He completed the sentence for her. "Yes, I want you to get into a contract marriage with me, while I help you get your revenge against Derek, in return."
"I would pay you as well, so you have nothing to worry about" he added, and Violet swallowed. This was so much to take in.
The person she is spying on, wants her to sign a contract marriage with him. Isn't this going too far than she expected?
But then, she really needs to have her revenge. She needs to show the world, that she's the heiress of the Wilson's family.
Derek can strike anytime. She really needs to protect herself.
Maybe it's not a bad idea,after all.
"So..." Adrian asked, waiting for her reply.
"I'll think about it. It's quite sudden. Infact, very sudden" she added.
"Okay then. Make your decision fast, and give me your reply. I'll be expecting." he said, and sipped his now cold coffee.
Violet stared at him, wondering what was going on in his mind and how he suddenly proposed a contract marriage.
He could have randomly picked any girl, but why her? Because of her predicament?
She doesn't think so. For him to have said it like that, he had probably been thinking about it before.
As she was drowned in her own thoughts, different things were also going through Adrian's mind.
All the ladies Bryan had shown him, he hadn't picked interest in anyone. And he doesn't think he can touch or allow any of them to come in contact with him.
And what sense would that make, if he can't even hold his 'wife's' hand in public. People would start suspecting if they act so distant.
But then, there's a lady who had touched him a number of times and he didn't feel appalled. There was a lady he can still tolerate.
So why don't he go for her, instead. He had been thinking about it for a while, wondering how he will ask her, but Violet's dilemma opened up a chance for him.
He hopes she accept, and signs the contract fast. He can't allow his father choose someone for him. He would probably regret it for the rest of his life.
Both drank silently, each in a world of its own.

"So, Eclipse was the one that had our project?" Adrian asked.
"Yes. It was really surprising. Because it's just a new company. How it was able to infiltrate into ours, is what I don't know." Bryan said.
"How we are going to find the spy is what we should be thinking about" Jake, another worker said.
"Yes, because if we don't, none of our works is safe anymore"Bryan added.
Only five workers were present in the meeting. They were the workers in the ICT department.
Adrian listened to all their suggestions, before addressing the issue.
"We'll have to find the spy, just like Jake had said. Monitor all workers that come into the ICT room, if you find anyone suspicious, report to me immediately.
Tighten the security and watch out. We need to get the perpetrator once and for all.
And if we do..." he paused, his gaze turning cold. "The person would have himself to blame. I won't take it lightly" he said, in a menacing low voice and even those present felt the chilly aura surrounding him.

Violet sighed for the umpteenth time. "Marry me" that phrase kept echoing in her head. She couldn't even concentrate on what she was doing.
Her life always seem to be full of surprises. She can't even try to predict what might happen the next day.
Few months ago, she never thought she could be working in Starlight. And now, a billionaire wants to sign a contract marriage with her.
It would have been a bit exciting if the same billionaire, isn't the same she is snitching on.
The feeling of Adrian trusting her enough to even ask her to sign a contract marriage with him made her stomach churn.
"This is just crazy" she muttered.
---
She got home, exhausted; not from work, but from her thoughts.
As she was still thinking, a call came in and she sighed, seeing the familiar number.
"Sign it" the voice said and she arched her brows. "The contract; sign it" the blackmailer's voice came again.
How on earth did he get to know about the contract?
"Don't be surprised. My eyes are everywhere." he said. "That's why you can't run away from me, Violet" he added and she took in a deep breath.
"I should sign it?" she asked. "Yes, you have to. My aim is for you to get close to Adrian enough, make him trust you, I can see you are already doing a great job at that. When you gain his trust, then you break him. You break him so hard that he can't become his normal self again.
I want to see him ruined, broken and helpless" hie said dangerously, his voice full of malice and Violet's heart sank.
"Why do I have to be part of your plan? Just why? Why am I caught up in your resentment towards him. I don't want to be part of this dangerous game. Why can't I ever be free?" she cried bitterly.
All she heard was a chuckle, then a long pause.
"Because, without you, my goal can't be achieved. You are the only one that can do the task. Violet Wilson, you are the only soul, fully connected to Adrian" he said, his voice laced with heavy meaning.
"I'm the only one connected to Adrian? What does that mean?" she asked but the blackmailer only continued, without responding to her questions.
"Go to Adrian, and sign that contract. Don't try to play smart. You don't want a scorpion sting, do you?" he asked and cut the call immediately
Violet's eyes watered. "Mum, dad, I'm scared" her lips trembled.
"I'm really scared" she cried, her arms folded on her knees.
