Adrian's lips curved up, as he watched Violet, her eyes shut.
He suddenly leaned away.
Violet opened her eyes slowly, when she felt him move away.
"Tsk, seems like you are really looking forward to our wedding night more than I am" He teased, and her cheeks flushed red.
"Wh—What ate you talking about? Leave my room" She mumbled, pushing his chest lightly, escaping from him.
Adrian watched her with amusement. He can't deny the sensation he felt when he saw her wrapped in towel, and how bad he wanted to rip it off.
When was the last time he had such dirty thoughts. The last time he had something intimate with a lady was— that day. That Friday, with the mysterious stranger.
He had forgotten about searching for her, when the thoughts of getting a wife, and the issues in his company clouded his mind.
Looking at it, though he couldn't remember her face clearly. She had a stature similar to Violet's.
He remembered the way she had cried, begging for his touch. Her voice—
His head snapped to the bathroom room, where Violet had slipped to.
Violet's voice—
"Nah.... it's probably just similar." He muttered, shrugging off the thought.
Violet came out of the bathroom, dressed in a singlet, and joggers.
"Why are you still in my room?" She asked, her brows arched, while she packed her hair into a messy bun.
"Are you sleeping with joggers?"
"What's your business? I can sleep wearing whatever I want" She rolled her eyes, and he chuckled.
"There's something important we've not discussed about" He said, and she snapped her head towards him.
"What's that?"
"How many babies are we going to have" He teased, and she gasped.
"Adrian!"
"Your cheeks are red" He teased further, and Violet shook her head. Would she ever understand Adrian? When did her cold boss turn this playful?
"Leave my room, thanks. It's time to sleep"
"Wait, wait. I honestly have something important to say" He said, sitting on her bed, and she sighed.
Can't this hot dude just leave her room? She's trying so hard to push him out, so he doesn't catch her staring at him.
When he had moved so close to her, she felt a warm sensation run over her body.
The fact that she closed her eyes, expecting a kiss was so embarrassing.
"What's the serious thing that you want to say?" She asked, making sure she's keeping some distance between them.
She doesn't think she can handle another teasing from him.
"You can't keep working as my secretary" He stated.
"Why?" She asked.
"Why? You are my wife." He said, and Violet couldn't understand why her heart felt warm at the sound of him calling her 'his wife'
She nodded her head before asking, "Are you planning to make our marriage public?"
"For now, no" He said.
"If I do, you'll have lot of enemies. And since it's just a contract marriage, I don't want you getting hurt for something that isn't long term.
When time is right, or if need be, I'll announce it" He said, with a tone of finality.
"Okay then"
"So, since I can't continue working as your secretary, where am I going to work?" She asked.
"Must you work? I can pay you every month" He said. "Thanks but, the house would be so boring" She said, pouting.
"I'll figure out something. But for tomorrow, rest. And you can use that to check online for any job you are interested in. I'll get it for you" He said, and she smiled.
"Okay, thanks"
He stood up, and headed towards the door. "Goodnight" She said, and he nodded, shutting the door.
The image of her in a towel, her body dripping wet with water, flooded his head, and he groaned. "You are crazy, Adrian"

NEXT MORNING,
Adrian had already left for work. Violet yawned as she stood up from the bed.
She smiled, remembering the scene that ha happened between her and Adrian, the day before.
She had her bath, and went downstairs.
The aroma of savoury food waft through her nostrils, and she frowned, when she heard indistinct chatters. Who was in the house with her? Or is Adrian still around?
She walked stealthily to the kitchen, and gasped when she saw about three unfamiliar faces, cooking.
They turned, immediately they sensed her presence. "Good morning, ma'am" They bowed simultaneously.
"Who are you?" She asked.
"Master hired us to cook, and take care of the house" One of them answered.
He was the only male, the other two were females.
"Adrian?" She asked. "When were you hired?" She asked. She hasn't seen any maid around the house, before. "Yesterday, ma'am " He answered.
"You don't need to bother yourself about anything. If you need something, you can just call any of us. I'm Simon"
"I'm Paula ma'am" The girl on the right said. "And she's Maya." She added, pointing towards the other girl who bowed slightly.
"Ohh okay. That's really cool. By the way, you can call me Violet. You don't need to add ma'am"
"Ohh we have to. You are master's wife" Paula said, and Violet almost grinned.
"What's wrong with you, Violet" She chided herself.
Violet gave them a smile. "Thanks for helping out. You can carry on"
She walked around the mansion, giving herself a tour.
She went to the west wing of the house, and she marveled at the sight of the pool in front of her.
"Woah, I never knew there's a swimming pool in the house" She smiled, gazing at the calm water.
She wanted to jump in, and allow the water caress her skin so bad.
"Would Adrian talk?" She muttered.
She remembered when she touched the picture in the living room, and how he had snapped, so she decided against swimming in his pool without his permission. "He might get mad"
After touring the mansion to her satisfaction, she sat on the sofa, shoving some popcorn into her mouth.
She had recently had the sumptuous meal the cooks prepared, and she enjoyed every bit of it.
She decided to go for a stroll after a while. She opened her wardrobe, and saw the stack of clothes she had met when she opened it the night before.
They were all new and attractive. She smiled, slipping into a sleeveless casual gown. How Adrian seemed to know her size always amused her.

Violet exhaled, loving the cool breeze. She was about to enter a mall, when someone bumped into her and the bag she was holding fell.
"Ohh, I'm so sorry" A masculine voice said, bending down to pick her bag.
"Ohh, it's no issue. She said , reaching down to pick the bag up, without looking up but the man was faster.
"Thanks" She said, and the man stretched out his hand to give her the bag.
She gasped when she saw a familiar tattoo on his wrist—a scorpion tattoo. Her mind flashed to the tattoo she had seen on the chest of the blackmailer, and she flinched. It was exactly the same.
She looked up, and she saw him, cloaked in a black jacket and a dark hat, she couldn't see his face well, but she saw the sinister smile on his lips.
"Violet" he muttered, and her eyes widened.
