A ring from her phone jolted her up, and she hesitated, before picking up.
"Why was he calling her again?" She thought.
"Just a pleasant warning. You can try to prove smart, and report me to Adrian, thinking he would save you"
"You are free to." He chuckled. "I didn't plan to " Violet replied.
"No, you are actually free. Tell him to save you from me. Just be aware that by doing that, you've dug your own grave " he said, and Violet gulped.

Knock, knock
"Come in" Adrian answered. He was with Bryan, when the knock came in.
Violet opened the door, and entered. She had been watching Adrian, and he had seemed busy. Different people have been coming in and out of his office.
She had thought he was alone. "Good afternoon, sir" She greeted, and from her expression, Adrian already knew what she wanted to talk about.
"Can you come back later, Violet? I'll send for you" He said, and she nodded before leaving.
"Adrian, you didn't talk about the contract stuff again. Have you found someone?" He asked.
Since the day Adrian had rejected those girls he prepared, he had been giving him other choices, but Adrian rejected them all.
And he stopped, trying to look for a perfect fit. But Adrian didn't even talk about it again.
"That was what I wanted to talk to you about " Adrian answered and Bryan leaned in, eager to here what Adrian has to say.
"Do you want to kiss me?" Adrian chuckled.
"You are really cute, so I might make an exception."
"Gross" Adrian retorted and Bryan laughed.
"So what is it? Did your father cancel his order, or..." He trailed off.
"I have found someone" Adrian muttered. "What? Really? Who is she?" He asked, his eyes filled with curiosity.
"Calm your nerves" Adrian chuckled. "She just left, not quite long" He added.
"Who left?" Bryan creased his brows.
"The girl I found. The one I proposed a contract marriage to" He answered.
"We were the only one here, who...." His eyes opened widely when it hit him. "Violet???" He asked, surprised and Adrian nodded.
"Yeah, it's Violet"
"You proposed a contract marriage to Violet, are you out of your mind?" He snapped.
"Have you looked into her details? She has no family background. She's your secretary!"
"I know. She's the one I chose" Adrian said, nonchalantly.
"Woah. This is shocking" Bryan muttered. "You think your father would accept her? An ordinary secretary?"
"Don't call her an ordinary secretary" Adrian snapped and Bryan parted his lips.
"Why are you being so overprotective? Don't tell me you have fallen for her"
"Fallen for who? It's just a contract marriage, that settles both of us issues. Nothing emotional attached" Adrian scoffed.
"Better. But...Violet-" he murmured. "It's fine, though" He shrugged.
"I just wonder how your family will receive her"
"How they receives her or what they think of her, is none of my concern. As long as she's the one I bring home, they have no other choice but to accept her." He said with a tone of finality, and Bryan sighed.
"Fine, I support you. I didn't even know you could find a girl, yourself" Bryan chuckled.
"Of course, I can. What do you take me for?" He rolled his eyes, and Bryan laughed.
"With that handsome face of yours, getting girls isn't a problem. You've always been the one that's dragging back....I understand though"
"So, have she signed the contract?"
"Not yet. I just proposed the contract to her, some days ago. I guess she was about to give her reply, when she came in the other time" He explained.
"Ohh, okay"

BROWN'S MANSION
"Guess who's back" Elsa's voice shrilled as entered the grand living room.
"Darling!" Luke hugged her, as she came in.
"You spent over three months, without coming home" Elder Jerry scolded.
"I'm sorry grandfather. The vacation was just so exciting" She squealed and he shook his head. "Anyways, welcome home."
Her children, Miles and Ciara also came to greet her, including Deja.
"Young woman! Have I not told you to stop dressing that way, in my house" Elder Jerry shouted, referring to Ciara, who wore a short gown that was almost spilling her boobs out.
"Granddad, I'm in my house. Why can't I dress the way I want" She fumed. "You are not the only one in the house. And lest you forget, this is my house. Do as I say, or you leave" he scolded, going into his room.
Elsa rolled her eyes, "Why is he always hard towards my children."
"Ciara knows that dad doesn't like that. Tell your daughter, and stop blaming him" Luke said.
"By the way, how's everything?" Elsa asked, settling on the couch.
"Adrian visited" Miles said, and Elsa frowned.
"What did that son of a bitch, come here for?"
"My brother is not a son of a bitch. Watch your mouth, dear stepmother" Deja retorted, and stormed out.
"I really need to get my own place" She sighed. She doesn't like living alone, so she had managed in the mansion.
It was still manageable, when Elsa wasn't around, but now that she's back, she doesn't think she can stay anymore.
"Hi Taylor" She phoned one of her friends." Deja! What's up"
"I'm cool. Can I stay with you for sometime" She asked. "Sure, you are welcome anytime"

Violet looked around nervously. This is the third time she's stepping foot in Adrian's house.
She had signed the contract earlier, and now, she's formally Violet Brown.
He had asked her to come, for him to explain how things would work, when they visit the family's mansion.
Adrian explained the proceedings to her, giving her all necessary details and information about his family.
"So, do you understand?" He asked, turning to look at her only to see her dozing.
"How could she just sleep like that. I have been talking for minutes now" He scoffed, looking at her.
Unconsciously, her head landed on his shoulders, her eyes still closed, and he sighed.
It was quite late already. He had plans of driving her home, once they were done. But looking at how she slept of so quickly, she seems exhausted.
He decided to let her sleep a little. He gently stood up, adjusting her well, so she could sleep on the couch.
Her face looked so peaceful, in contrast to how troubled she was, when she talked about Derek.
"I find myself wanting to protect you, Violet... it's unfamiliar " He muttered.
