Kat pouted and looked toward the laptop screen, ignoring me as she unpaused the TV show. I shook my head, activated my mind-reading ability, and was instantly bombarded by countless thoughts.
I winced as I forced myself to focus only on Kat's thoughts. Just like yesterday, it was hard—this ability has a wide range and lacks direction, making it difficult to navigate.
As I tried to listen only to Kat's thoughts, the outside interference seemed to get louder, and I groaned in pain as a sudden headache threatened to split my mind apart.
