Chapter 4 - Living With Supernaturals

Anna had been escorted inside by Leon. The quarters was bigger than what she imagined. The interior's warmth and elegance had surprised her.

The quarters' interior was beautiful and it felt homey.

"The quarters is the biggest of all the quarters in the academy" Leon said as if reading her mind.

"Why?" Anna asked

"Why?" Leon repeated, chuckling. "The best team in the academy are always treated like royalty" Leon answered her.

He took her to the kitchen and went straight to the refrigerator .

"Do you want anything?" Leon asked

"No, thanks" Anna answered almost immediately.

"You shouldn't be weary of anything or anyone. We may be supernaturals but we won't hurt you in anyway." Leon said as he opened the cap of the bottle of water he took from the refrigerator.

"Living with a supernatural is one thing but a bunch..." Anna said and scoffed which Leon couldn't help but chuckle again before he took a sip from the bottle of water before returning it back into the refrigerator.

"You can't be hurt since Xander is here to protect you" Leon said stressing on his last words.

"Xander?" Anna asked, pretending to be bewildered.

"Xander, your guardian" Leon said which made Anna's mouth form an 'O' shape.

Anna definitely remembered the name. How could she forget the mysterious guy who had made shivers run down her spine and made her so uncomfortable, 'Xander Glenn'.

She just wanted to pretend like she didn't know to get some information about him from Leon.

"So, the mysterious guy is Xander?" Anna asked.

"Yes, why that face?" Leon asked because her expression seemed surprised about the name.

"Never thought he would bear the same name as the as***le I hate so much" Anna said with gnashed teeth.

The conversation had drifted to another side making Anna forget about her little lie and that she wanted Leon to speak a little about Xander, so that she could know what kind of person he was.

"Is name is Xander?" Leon asked.

"No, his name is Alexander but people call him Alex" Anna said.

"Xander's is just Xander" Leon made it clearer.

"Mmmh" Anna hummed.

"So, tell me about this Alex" Leon said trying to engage her in a discussion.

"Do I have to talk about him?" Anna asked irritably and Leon shook his head.

"No, but I can tell you about us" Leon said as he returned the bottle of water back into the refrigerator as they left the kitchen to the garden as Anna followed suit.

"I know a lot of things about supernaturals" Anna said trailing behind Leon."This garden is so beautiful" Anna commented mesmerized by the flowers that decorated the small garden.

"Xander had grown the flowers himself and had nutured the flowers." Leon smiled remembering how Xander treasured the little garden. "He waters them himself everyday." Leon said.

"He doesn't look like someone who loves flowers" Anna commented under her breath but it wasn't hard for Leon to catch her words because of his good hearing abilities.

"He seems a little soft in the inside even do he seems like a stone from the outside." Leon said. "Tell me what you know" Leon said returning to the question he had asked her before.

"About what?" Anna asked forgetting what they had talked about.

"What you know about supernaturals" Leon reminded her.

"Louis had told me a lot of stories." She started and paused thinking about what to say. "Supernatural academy is like a home to every supernaturals that reside in here. It was founded by one of the most powerful supernatural, Judge Anderson" Anna started, making Leon smile as he listened to every word she spoke.

"Supernatuarals are beings which are different from humans because of the different abilities they possess"

"Some have the ability to possess fire, water, air, earth and so many abilities that I can't remember"

"The supernatural academy was built in order for supernaturals to learn how to control their abilities and not to misuse it especially to hurt humans and it was also built to bring supernaturals together to differentiate them from other creatures and for centuries it has been very successful" Anna was talking so fast that Leon had to listen carefully to catch every bit of word she spoke.

Leon couldn't help but smile as the girl spoke about his kind.

"It seems Louis had taught you a lot" Leon commented.

"I can't believe I remember so much because Louis always talked about supernaturals as if he was teaching history and I hate history" Anna said with a smile.

"You must be tired. Let me show you the rest of the quarters then I'll show you your room." Leon offered as Anna nodded her head as they headed back to the main hall.

Leon showed her around the quarters as they interacted. After twenty minutes they finally stopped in front of Anna's new room.

"This is your room." Leon said

"Thanks" Anna muttered.

"If you need anything my room is just across the hall" Leon said and gave her a smile.

"Alright" Anna said and nodded her head. It seems Leon wouldn't leave if he doesn't see her enter her room. And as she entered her room Leon left to continue with his business.

Anna looked around her room and saw the room wasn't very big but was very comfy. She liked the interior of the room, she walked to the big bed and sat down on it feeling the softness.

She then approached the door, thinking it was the bathroom but found it was the closet. She was surprised that she also had a closet. It seems the quarters was bigger than what she thought.

Anna felt uncertain about what to do in such a place. Her initial curiosity had worn off.

She was just being inquisitive and had asked Louis what he knew about her guardian and she had asked about where he stayed and she ended up getting too anxious and come to see for herself where she would be spending her weekends for two months until her graduation when she would finally stay that's if, Louis isn't back before then.

She didn't know her anxiousness would have ended up with her staying here a day earlier.

Anna did not know what to do here. She couldn't even take a shower because she doesn't have her pajamas here and she can't sleep without them.

She took her phone from the back pocket of her jeans and saw that her human friend, Georgia had left a text message.

'You left class without me, hope everything is okay?'

She had left class very early when she had seen the message she had missed from Louis. She had rushed out of school in an hurry because she had seen the message about his leaving late and she thought she had missed him.

She was so worried when she got to the top walls and did not see Louis anywhere and she had barged into the meeting room without thinking.

Anna texted back that she was fine and threw her phone on the bed and laid down on the bed staring at the ceiling.

She felt so bored and I he only thing she could think about was to sleep but they was not impossible because she wasn't in her pajamas.

Anna took a few deep breaths then sat up and grabbed her phone again and began to play game on her phone.

Anna thought it was impossible but she had slept off while playing games and she had woken up in the middle of night.

She was shocked that she had slept off and sat up on the bed and checked the time on the alarm clock at her bedside.

It was just past midnight.

Why not morning? She groaned inwardly and ran her hand through her hair.

She got up from her bed, feeling thirsty she decided to get some water. She left the comfort of her room as she was about to descend the stairs which led to the kitchen, she heard voices from the living room, downstairs as she recognized the voice belonged to the guy who had showed her around and she also heard the voice of her guardian, Xander. She listened on their conservation and was happy when she heard Leon speak about her luggage.

When she heard footsteps approaching the staircase she quickly ran back to her room not wanting to come in contact with Xander, knowing he was the one who had left the sitting room.

Unbeknownst to her, Xander had heard her footsteps retreat back to her room and he also heard the closing of her door even do she had closed it carefully.

When she heard Xander's footsteps pass her room she waited for two minutes before she left her room and went downstairs.

She saw Leon sitting on the couch reading something.

"Can't sleep?" Leon asked his eyes still fixed on his book.

"I was about to when I heard Xander enter his room" Anna lied not wanting to let the supernatural know that she had slept soundly in the presence of four supernaturals in the quarters.

Leon finally looked up at her catching her little lie because her face didn't have any lack of sleep written over it. Her little lie made him smile.

"If you need your stuffs you can go and get it from Xander" Leon said knowing that was the reason she had come down to know if Xander was back.

Anna nodded her head and turned around to leave and turned around again to face him.

"I'm supposed to get it from him?" Anna exclaimed.
