Anna was about to ask Xander what casted demons means when she heard a familiar male voice call her name.
She looked ahead of Xander and saw Leon and the others walking towards them.
Anna felt Xander's grip on her waist loosen as her legs were not wobbly anymore. She awkwardly took two steps away from him as she became aware of the closeness they had shared a second ago.
"We were worried something had happened to you." His worried tone matching his expression.
"Something might have happened if I hadn't arrived earlier," Came Xander's annoyed tone but his words were not directed to Leon but someone else.
Leon apologized "It's my fault I should have looked after her."
"It isn't your fault. The fault lies with the person whowandered away in a place she barely knows." Came Xander's angry tone which made Anna bite her lips looking away, so her eyes wouldn't meet any of the supernaturals.
"Did anything happen?" asked Alexa who stood next to Leon. "We heard someone scream which led us here." Alexa added.
They didn't know about the incident because the body of the casted demon had turned into dust and the blood had dried up
"She got attacked by a casted demon." Xander's words shocked the people who were around them.
"Hope you're fine, Anna?" Leon asked with a worried expression on his handsome face.
Anna who wasn't happy with the attention that was on her nodded her head at Leon's question.
"That will teach her not to wander around in a place not for someone like her," spoke Elizabeth who had spoken for the first time since she got there.
She had followed Tristan when he had left to look for the human girl. She didn't like the thought of Tristan looking for the human but it doesn't mean she wasn't going to stick around him.
Even the other guy, Ron had followed because he felt guilty a little for not speaking about the human girl wandering into the bed trap forest.
Xander who had noticed the presence of the king's team and had decided not to acknowledge them now glanced at the brunette girl who had spoken scornfully.
"What are they doing here?" asked Xander to Leon.
"We decided to have a practice match with your team in the woods." Tristan spoke for the first time since he got there.
"How unusual for you to have a practice match with us." commented Xander, noticing the kings had their reason of wanting to have a practice match with them.
Xander knew Tristan would never have a practice match with them in the woods except for the compulsory practice match during school hours.
"Some things starts one day." Tristan's words came out polite with a smile on his face.
His eyes couldn't help but wander to the human who stood next to Xander. He could see from her expression that she was a little bit scared after the incident she had witnessed.
He might not have been there when the incident happened but which human wouldn't be scared on seeing something like a casted demon.
"We should held back" Andrew said already hungry after running a mile searching for the human after hearing the scream.
No one objected to Andrew's words has they all began to make their way out of the forest grounds.
Anna was thankful that Xander had come right in time to save her but she couldn't help but wonder what he was doing in the forest and how he had saved her from the casted demon in less than a second.
Tristan who had noticed Anna who was in deep thought had slowed down his steps so he could walk next to her.
"You must have been frightened out there." Tristan said, his words coming out in a whisper but Anna had heard him clearly and so has the other supernaturals because of their good hearing abilities compared to that of humans.
"I was saved right on time." Anna said and gave him a wry smile which Tristan smiled back at her broadly.
Elizabeth who was walking next to Tristan before had noticed that his steps had slowed down to walk next to the human girl.
Her eyes narrowed angrily seeing Tristan's obvious moves and when she caught the girl smile at him and Tristan smile back, her fire had been ignited and what she wanted was to burn the human girl.
She had liked Tristan for so long and the only way she could stay close to him was to be part of his team.
She had worked very hard to get to stand next to him in his team and she had never failed at a chance to let him about her fondness of him.
But Tristan being who he is always got rid of her advances making it look like it was nothing.
Elizabeth didn't feel threatened no matter how Tristan had rejected her because she knew she t threatened by a girl for the first time.
And that being a human.
When they got to a particular point the two teams parted their ways. Seeing Tristan wave at the girl only made her fume more.
"What are you trying to do?" Elizabeth couldn't help but ask when they had walked a considerable distance away from the Knight's team and they were headed back to their quarters.
"What do you think I'm trying to do?" Tristan asked her back already knowing what she wanted to speak about.
"Where had you seen her?" Elizabeth decided not to beat around the bush as she needed answers.
"I saved her life once. You asked this question back there why asking it again?" came Tristan's words which left a sting on Elizabeth.
"I'm asking this same question because I need some clarity" Elizabeth's voice was louder than before as they didn't even stop walking even when the conversation was getting heated.
"You don't need any clarity from me, Lizzy." came Tristan's hurtful words as he halted his steps and also Elizabeth and Ron.
Ron who already sensed the tension, gulped wishing he had not followed them because of his curiosity about the human.
"The human girl is my business not yours." Tristan's words hurt more than the first words he had spoken making Elizabeth scoff.
"If you like the girl forget about it because Xander would never allow you anywhere close to her." Elizabeth said between gritted teeth trying her best not to shed tears.
"Xander is her guardian to protect her and not her emotions." Tristan said in a low voice with his two hands in his trouser's pocket
"I think I have something to do." Ron almost stuttered between his words.
Elizabeth stared at Tristan's green eyes and Tristan stared back at her. "Let's go together." came Elizabeth's words to Ron.
Ron who had already taken a few steps ready to leave because of the bustling of emotions around them. When he heard Elizabeth's words he stopped in his tracks and Elizabeth made her way to him as they left together.
Ron didn't want to leave with Elizabeth because he knew she was in a fowl mood right now but he had no other choice than to leave with her.
The Knight's team made their way back to their quarters with Anna. Anna sat down on the couch in the living room as Alexa and Andrew had gone to their rooms and Leon was preparing lunch for everyone while Xander sat in the sitting room with her.
Xander's head was laid back on the couch with his eyes shut. Anna could sense he wasn't asleep.
The silence was awkward as Xander didn't say anything so did Anna and the silence made Anna awkward.
She then remembered about the casted demon question she wanted to ask him.
Maybe that would break the silence.
"What are casted demons?" Anna's question had come out as a whisper but because of Xander's hearing abilities he was quick to catch her words.
She heard him sigh and opened his eyes and then sat up. His eyes came to rest on her as she looked away not wanting to meet his gaze.
"They are demons that gets greedy and seeks human's body as a vessel." Xander started and this had gotten Anna intrigued because he had not brushed her question off.
"Was it trying to use me as a vessel?" Anna asked out of curiosity.
"Yes, when demons possesses a human's body for too long they take over the body and makes the body their vessel and when they are forced to leave the body of the human they become casted demons" Xander explained and then paused.
"For casted demons to stay alive they need another vessel or they would continue to look like what you saw and then die." Xander explained further and then Leon's head popped from the door leading from the kitchen to the sitting room.
"Anyone hungry?" He asked.
