"Hey, Pat, mind telling me if you remember anything else?" Alex asks as the three, yet again, find themselves in an open field while Pat ponders the question he had just been asked. "Sorry, dude. Nothing has changed. It's still fuzzy. I can sort of see things, but they're all blurs. Faces, events, it's all still not clear. But I did ask Gris to give me a history book of both actual history and of the black market so that I could learn more about all of this, maybe that can help me."
The mention of her name made Mike shake his head and quietly say to himself "Heathen" but it was still loud enough for Alex to hear what his friend had said, "Huh? When did you decide to use that word for once?" Meanwhile, Mike, messing around with the handgun he had, looks back at Alex before thinking about what he wanted to say before saying it.
"Okay, I am going to be honest, but there is something wrong with Gris." He admits to the others, which doesn't really faze them. "It was pretty obvious." Pat responds in a more monotone voice, showing his lack of surprise. As did Alex who also replied, "Yeah, that isn't the most surprising thing out there. Seriously, what did you expect from the black market? Though, her enthusiasm does make her a lot more concerning."
They all came to the agreement that Gris wasn't the most mentally all there person that they now knew, which wasn't many, admittedly, but they all soon focused on the demon that, while similar to the ones they saw prior, just like the others, still had its own differences, and in the distance it stood. "So what's the plan for right now? As long as we don't get killed from this one, we go and kill two others so we can each have one under our names? Wait... what do we do after we kill each one again?"
"Pat, you really need to learn to keep more attention on things. But that's the plan, yeah. As long as we keep our heads on, we'll kill a couple more, and then use the other teleporters Gris gave us so that we can give the corpses to her so she can take out the blood and do whatever else she was needing to. I don't know what to expect from her." Alex explains as they all then take aim at the demon.
"Who wants the first kill?" Alex asks, expecting the other two to argue, but instead sees them already playing rock, paper, scissors to see who gets to do it first. In which case, it would end up being Pat who won that game, and then again against Alex. So, as the winner of their competition, Pat takes aim with the rifle he had gotten and aims it directly at the demon's face before shooting. They thought it was going to be an easy kill, but when the bullet hit the demon, nothing happened.
Well, the bullet did hit the demon, but it barely fazed it, having hit some sort of hard substance on the demon. The only thing to come of it now was the demon looking directly at them, its red eyes staring directly into their souls as they all stared back at it with widened eyes. Without hesitation, the demon charges at them all. The three of them scramble to point their weapons at the demon, but while Pat and Alex try using their firearms, Mike continues to have the bright idea of using his firearm. In a more literal sense of using his fire magic.
Alex was about to yell at Mike for trying to use his power that he still hasn't gotten full control over, but before he could, the demon rammed into him, pushing him away and knocking the rifle out of his hands, causing him to roll across the ground. He soon tries to get up, only to see the demon right in front of his face. Swiftly, he grabs the handgun he had and started shooting, which did seem to affect it. Because as he shot it in the torso, the beast let out a loud roar.
As for Mike and Pat, the latter continues to try and shoot with his rifle, to no avail. However, Mike, he was trying something, instead of trying to make the smaller flames that he has been doing, he raises his hand and aims it directly at the demon before focusing as much as he could. And before he knew it, he shot a small fireball at the demon, making it turn away from Alex, who was about to be bitten in two, and now focus on Mike, who's ego had grown ever so just from that.
"Yeah, come on, you big bitch!" Mike was taunting the demon, having already gotten full of himself, but that ego soon came to a crashing halt as the demon charged at him now. And the only thing that filled Mike's mind now was a whole bunch of swears: "FUCKING FUCKITY FUCK SHIT FUCK!" He quickly backs away and begins to run.
The demon kept getting closer towards him as he kept facing it to try and attack the beast with his fire, and even with the handgun he had once he finally stopped trying his own fire, but the demon kept charging at him. That was until he heard the sound of another gunshot, alongside a thud. He turns around to see the demon, now on the ground. He looks over and sees Pat holding his rifle, having aimed and shot at it again, this time the bullet going straight through the skull of the demon, killing the beast.
The three of them look at one another before they all collectively agree in their minds on what to do next as they use that teleporter that Gris gave them, and use it to transport the corpse of the demon to wherever it was meant to go. And once the teleportation stopped and Alex took a hold of it, Mike was the one who finally decided to speak up and admit to the thing he was most focused on, "We'd better be getting paid good for this."
