"Okay, I think I can get used to this!" Mike exclaims as he looks at the check he had just been given by Gris before he stops and realizes something, "Wait, where the hell are we meant to put these?" And right thereafter, she would've happily responded. Albeit she didn't initially, having to remind him about something prior to her answer, "Hey! What did I say about swearing?" Mike gives a look before asking her, "Seriously? You even consider that one bad? Should it even count since it's an actual place?"
"Well, that's where context is key, my good Michael! You see, with how you used it, that is just a simple swear, but if you were referring to the opposite of Heaven, then that one would be perfectly a-okay! Of course, I'd still prefer you to not say it, but what the heck? I've grown a liking to all three of you, so I shall allow you to swear a wee bit more when around me!" She was beaming when she said that, as if she had just given a high reward before remembering the initial question.
"Duh, how could I forget? Yeah, when you were all out while I was messing with your brains, I got accounts opened for each of you at a bank! And, don't question how I did it, but just be happy that I got it done for you!" Honestly, none of them really wanted to question how she'd do something like that, but they just went along with it until she snatched the checks from each of them. "And soon enough I'll be putting them in for you! You can all trust me, after all, you need to make sure you can trust your employer!"
"I'm sorry, but when did we ever agree to be your employees?" Mike asks with a hint of rage in his voice. "Well, who's to say that you aren't? Besides, are you really going to tell lil' ol' me 'no'?" Gris' voice of acting innocent made Mike clutched his hand in a fist before reluctantly answering. "... No..." But since he did say "no", Gris decides to mess around with him. "Oh, so you really did want to tell lil' ol' me 'no'?"
Mike was about to try and fix what he had just said before Gris laughed it off. "Oh, it's fine! A little joking never hurt anybody, now did it? Although, now that we got that out of the way, I do need you all for a favor. One itsy, bitsy, tiny favor that I don't think any of you will mind helping with! One that is so tiny that you probably wouldn't even take notice! One that's so minuscule that not even protons and them would look enormous in comparison! One th-"
"Just get to the point." Mike tells her, while she stopped dead in her tracks before raising an eyebrow. "Talk about ruining the fun," Gris exclaims quietly to herself before reaffirming herself, "Alright, alright, I'll get to the point: I need you all to go on a journey for me! A trip around the globe! Well, it's more like a journey around the country, but still! An actual journey, can't you wait!?" She was practically bouncing up and down with excitement.
"And why are we needing to do this?" The question was genuine, because Alex wasn't all that thrilled at having to run errands for someone who was probably the most insane bastard he'd ever met, even if he didn't remember the past. "Because it's in your contract!" She proudly tells them before Mike politely asks, "When did we sign a contract!?" He was seemingly about to try and pull out his gun, only for Gris to pull out a pistol before he could even try and have it pointed directly at his forehead.
"Now, there's no reason to be so dang feisty, Mikey! I helped you, and you want to pull a stunt like that? I'm hurt!" She said in a dramatic way, trying to make it seem as if she was hurt by what he was going to try and pull, but she couldn't really care less. And after some more time, she eventually let out a sigh while putting her pistol away.
"Well, just so you know, Mike, you signed a contract mentally whenever you agreed to use my tech to try and help with your memories! That thing costs money to run, and I need some level of compensation for my compassion and generosity towards my friends!" And while she did try to explain it, Pat asked a question, "But aren't you able to just... print fake money? You're in the black market, after all."
Gris gasps at this, trying to make it look like she was offended by this, but, even if she didn't, still attempts to make it seem so. "No! Well, yes, but no! I take pride in my work, and I want to get my own genuine money. Though, there have been some that have tried doing that towards me, but that was the last crime they ever committed during their lifetimes!" But just the thought of that causes her to laugh a bit before remembering that she needed to tell them what she needed them to do.
"Oh, shoot! How could I forget? I need to tell you the journey you're about to go on!" A teleporter is put down as she said that while the others look at her. "Y'all are going by to see my friends at the Union! Just be careful who you say you're with! Because, I will admit, some of them aren't very big fans of me! Don't see why though!" And so they began walking through with Mike being the last one to head through before Gris stops him.
"And when you head over, try asking them for Sebastian! I'm telling you, if you think Cassian is good at killing demons, wait until you see him! And if he asks who sent you, tell 'em that Gris sent you! He'll tell you what to do! Now get going!" Gris proceeds to push him through the portal as it closes behind him while Gris continues to smile innocently at what she had done.
