"So, you're telling me that the black market is an actual market place?" All the hustle and bustle around them was surprising to them all when Mike asks that question, looking at the flea market-like place, having just been teleported there with said portal closing behind them as Cassian steps up in front of them, "Yeah, I know some people expect something else like shady business practices in alleyways, and while that's true, this is the main center of it all."
And as the three looked around, they finally saw those supposed demonians and angelites races that Cassian had told them about. Just like he said, the demonians had horns on their heads, albeit in different places and positions on their heads and some of them had tails of different sizes and more, while others didn't. Meanwhile, again, just like Cassian said, the angelites had glowing halos above their heads and different things floating behind their backs that resembled wings.
"Okay, now, just to let you three know: Try and stay close, last thing any of you three need is to somehow be pulled into an assassin gig." Cassian tells them as he starts walking with the three following right behind him. Yet, they still continue to observe the place around them. There were a lot of places selling weapons of all sorts, some asking for mercenary or assassin work, and other things of that kind of nature.
As they walked through the market, they then heard a female voice yell out, "Cass!" And, in the blink of an eye, a woman wearing a red ringmaster suit with gray hair, as well as a huge smile on her face, had her arms wrapped around Cassian in a tight embrace. "Hey, Gris, guess you missed me, huh?" He said with a slightly smug attitude before Gris looked up at him.
"Well, duh! How could I not miss my favorite demon hunter?" Only then did Gris notice the others standing right there behind Cassian as she chuckles at this, "Wow, did you actually get some new friends for once?" The teasing didn't really affect Cassian as he gets ready to explain the three people that are currently with him. "Well... sorta? They're suffering from amnesia or something because they can't remember anything. And it's almost frightening with how little they know."
Gris continues to smile as she looks back at the three and speaks to them, "Aww, you three amnesiacs? Well, fret not! Because I can help with that! At least, partially!" She, swiftly, turns around, motioning all of them to follow her. And as they do, they get to one part of the market that was like some type of medical unit, ignoring the muffled sound of ear piercing screaming.
"Oh, just ignore that guy! He's responsible for his own predicament!" She said, practically skipping through the place before approaching one of those supposed demonians. "Alright, Willow, can you please move? I have some work to do here now!" This Willow person looks up at Gris before she gives a shrug. "Sure, sure, only once you tell me what you're doing." And, just like that, Gris quickly gives her a rundown on what was currently happening.
"Oh, you know, just a few amnesiacs that can't remember anything have come to the oh so glorious Gris for help! Courtesy of Cassian who was here to give me a small little shout out!" After she gets done speaking, Willow scoffs at this and shakes her head, "Of course. More amnesiacs, just what I wanted in life." She then moves out of the way as Gris motions for them to continue following her.
And after they get into another room, it turns out to be some sort of operating room with multiple different sections in it, like if it was made specifically for the usage of doing operations on numerous people all at once, "And they called me a madwoman for wanting to make a room like this! Aha!" Gris' laugh did give them the sort of vibe that she was definitely not the most mentally stable person, but they might as well go along with it.
"So, how exactly is this meant to work?" Alex asks in a very concerned tone, worried about his safety as Gris turns around, still smiling the entire time. "Oh, that's a magician's secret! And don't you worry your little head off! If anything bad were to happen, always remember: This tragedy's a comedy, so turn that frown around!" The quote actually made Pat smirk at it while Alex sighs.
"Fucking hell..." A sudden flick to his skull is received from Gris, "Hey! No swearing!" Alex wanted to do something about what just happened, but decided to stay quiet this time around as he got into one of the chairs that was around, as well as Pat doing the same. Meanwhile, Mike had gotten into a conversation with Willow during that. "So, you're a... mercenary?"
A nod from Willow is given as she clasps her own hands together before answering, "The best around." A yell from Gris comes from a bit away as she calls out to the both of them, "Hey! Stop inflating that dang ego of yours! I got some work to do here!" Gris said it in a not so serious tone, which was at least appreciated to some degree as Willow sighs before turning around.
"Well, excuse me for being the number one ranked merc with a clean record." She said in a mocking tone before giving a peace sign as she walked away, "Alright, have fun with this, Gris. I'm out to watch the show happening in the other room. I want to see what's happening to that fu- I mean, person." A small nod from Gris is given as Mike goes and sits down one of the operating chairs next to his two friends. And Cassian just goes to sit outside of the room while Gris hooks all of them up to the device.
And after placing something on top of their heads, as well as putting on a mask as some sort of sleep gas was apparently entering the room. And as they each started to fall asleep due to it, the last one awake was Alex, who only heard Gris say a few more words that made him freeze in fear, "Alright, time to open up the textbook and remember how to do this..." Yet, right before he could get up and realize how screwed he likely was, he also fell asleep due to the gas.
