Chapter 1 - Chapter 1:

"I mean, c'mon, what's the worst that can happen? Besides..."

...

...

...

"I think we're kind of screwed." One man said, looking out into the distance as he and two others stood on top of building rubble before one of the others responded to him. "Oh, really? And what makes you say that? Is it how none of us remember anything or how we got here? Is it because of those giant beasts over there? Or is it even because of your shoe being untied?" The first man raised an eyebrow and looked down. Lo and behold, one of his shoes was untied. "Oh. It is." He leaned over and began to tie it as the third man there finally spoke up as well.

"So, none of us have any ideas about any of the things happening right now?" And a similar response of "No" and "Nope" come from the original two as the third rubs his temple before walking slightly away from them. "Oh, well, now isn't that just fantastic? That's it, we're dead!" His footing wasn't the greatest as he walked down the rubble pile before one of the others spoke out to him. "Alex, for the love of everything, calm down! Let's ju-" He was unable to finish speaking before Alex pointed out towards the giant beasts in the distance.

"Oh, and then tell me, Mike: What's going to happen when those whatever the hell they are, demon-looking things over there finally realize that we're standing here, and they decide that they need a quick snack?" The annoyance and irritation in his voice was noticeable as he yelled out to the third person of the group. "Hey, Pat, you got anything to say, or are you just going to continue staring at the ground?"

Pat, who was squatting down and looking at the rubble below him, shook his head for a moment, having stopped staring off into space as he spoke up. "I don't really have much to say... except for wanting to know what we're meant to be standing on currently." The other two stood there and looked around at their surroundings, also still wondering until Alex took in a deep breath and sighed. "It's whatever, let's just figure out where to go for now, and then we can come back here later."

The three of them all move away from the pile of rubble and to a nearby wall. The trio looked past it and back at the beasts in the distance that are on a hill before Alex asked them, "Any ideas so that we don't become lunch?" They all collectively thought up multiple possibilities on what they should do. That was until a shriek was let out that startled all of them. It came from one of the beasts as they started running away from them, and the second one followed right behind the first. It confused the three, and while Alex and Pat considered this their chance to escape, Mike didn't.

Instead, Mike, the actions first, think later guy of the group decided it was the best idea to go ahead and follow the beasts, despite knowing it was a risky move. "Mike! Don't!" Despite the plea, Mike continued on and walked towards where the beasts had gone. And, despite better judgement, Alex followed suit. Pat did as well, but he tripped and fell on the ground, only to get up and try to catch up to the other two. And as they approached where they had heard the beasts, they heard more shrieks and roars from them. Until it all went silent with a couple of whimpers.

And it was there when they reached the top of the hill, they looked down and noticed someone standing there with their hood up, seeming as though that they had slain the two beasts. They wielded a blade in each hand before putting each one of them away. The trio stood there as they looked at the person. The person then took notice of them as they called out to them. "You three okay?" The male voice made them all calm down slightly before they approached him. "Yeah, we're good." Alex said before looking at the corpses of the beasts and asking the man about them.

"And what about you? Are you fine after killing those..." He didn't finish, hoping the man would catch on to what he was referencing, which he did. "Oh, yeah, don't worry. I'm a licensed demon hunter. These two weren't even that bad. They're just about just as simple to kill as any other demon you can find out there." The revelation made all three of them stand and look at the corpses before Mike asks him. "So, wait, you mean to tell me that these are demons? Like, things you'd find inside of Hell? That kind of demon?"

"Uh, yeah? That's what they are?" The man was confused, thinking that this would be common knowledge on what they were before Pat bluntly spoke out, "We just found ourselves in a pile of rubble and probably have amnesia because we don't remember anything." The bluntness made the man raise an eyebrow at this before sighing. "Amnesiacs, huh? Heh, this, surprisingly, isn't the first time I've met one. Well, just come with me. I know someone who can, somehow, help you three with that." He said, gesturing to the three to follow him before he stopped and turned back.

"Oh, and the name's Cassian. And also you three should stay close by, by the time we get there, it's probably going to be dark out. And that's the last thing you three need if you can't even remember the fact that demons exist." With that, he sets off, and the three of them, not really having anywhere else to go, and not knowing what to do at the time. They all chose to follow him. Hoping that he actually knew what he was talking about, because, really, what other kind of choice did they currently have?
