"Mom Please! Aelion and Elara will be there too Mom!" Edward begged his mom to allow
him to go to Montis Ignifer (Mountain Of Flame),
"Edward! I already told you this once! You can't go climbing mountains with your sister and that
Elf friend of yours!" Seraphina, His Mom, exclaimed. She was afraid that they were going to get
killed because the mountain was the home to many fire-breathing animals, such as fire
breathing ants that enter your body and slowly burn everything, fire-breathing eagles which
just bombard you with fire, fire-breathing lions, wolves, bears, and much more (hence the name
'Montis Ignifer).
"Plus, isn't Montis Ignifer to the north? We live in the far west son, it will take an
eternity to arrive there." Seraphina tried to convince Edward to let it go but he would never
give up an adventure.
"So what? Aelion's dad said we can use a flying elephant for the trip." Edward said trying
his hardest to convince his mom to let them go to the Mountain.
"Of course he did." Seraphina sighed while rubbing her nose bridge. "You know what, I don't
even care anymore, go ask your dad." Seraphina had given up on trying to convince him and
was getting tired of arguing so she simply sent him to his father, the king. Edward was ecstatic
when he heard this. So, Edward used a spinning windball ball and traveled across the castle to his
father's throne. The Castle was glorious! With gold surrounding the walls, floors, and ceilings.
Tables and chairs were made from marble, incredible paintings by the most talented painters,
and incredible statues of Gods, it was as luminous and glorious as the sun! It was Lumin's heaven!
"I told you to stop with that ridiculous technique!" Seraphina shouted across the halls, "You
might break something you know!".
"Yeah, Yeah, whatever old woman," Edward said under his breath.
"Dad! Dad!" Edward shouted when he saw his dad, shouted with excitement of course. The
King's eyes lit up and they shined like a diamond,
"Oh, my son! My dear twins! You both came at the same time? But why? What do you need my
children?" The King said whilst holding both Elara and Edward up in his arms. Elara also raced
over to the King when she heard what Seraphina said, she was hiding in the other room,
eavesdropping.
"Dad can you let us go to Montis Ignifer with Aelion and his Dad's flying elephant!" The twins
said simultaneously.
"Did Eldrinor really let his son borrow his sacred flying elephant? That is strange." The King
thought to himself, "Well as long as you and that Elf-friend of yours behave, I don't see why not.
Plus you're strong enough to protect your sister, right Edward?"
"Well ye-" Edward replied before being cut off by Elara, "You know Dad, I can protect myself I
don't need his help."
"Is that so, my little archer? Just be careful alright, utilize that bow and bring me back some nice
eagles for lunch, eh." The King said with a soothing and calm voice. He loved his children more
than his whole kingdom and would do anything to see them happy.
The twins then flew out of the house with the spinning windball and went straight to Aelion's
house.
It was a dark morning with clouds blocking off the sun's presence and light, the atmosphere was
a dark purple.
"Darling, do you think we should raise the taxes on every product and establishment by 70%?"
King Zarok asked his wife, Morvanna. He wanted to get even more money out of his already
poor nation. He was already rich and had a castle that was as big as a whole neighborhood but
he wanted more and more, greed had filled his heart to the brim and there was no space left for
mercy or love or care for his kingdom. The civilian Goblins and Nightshade Elves were the ones
who paid the price for his greed and ignorance.
"Darling, we already charge the kingdom for 80% of all their earnings and an additional 20% if
they miss a payment for one day, the kingdom is essentially broke. How about, we attack Lumin?"
Morvanna asked with a grin spreading from one horn to the other, Royal Goblins were such
despicable beings.
"Silence Woman! What do you dare speak of!? Do you wish for Timotheus to come and kill us
and destroy our nation? Are you yet to hear of him?" Zarok replied with aggression and worry.
He was shocked that she even dared to mention such an idea! He knew that Timotheus would
attack them if they attacked Lumin, I mean at the end of the day, the tale was passed on from
generation to generation and told to the public countless amount of times.
"Oh please darling," She then went and stroked his horns, "Don't tell me you believe such
fairytales! You are King Zarok, feared across Umbra for your ruthlessness, and you are afraid of
such myths and tales? Oh please, you're no king if you are afraid of something you have never
even seen!" Morvanna said, but the King simply started rubbing his beard and walked out of the
room. He then went to his chambers and had a deep think about it. He thought about the
consequences if he did attack and the consequences if he didn't attack. In both scenarios, he is
dead. If he attacks, then Timotheus attacks back and he dies and if he doesn't attack, his nation
will suffer poverty and famine which will kill him. After thinking about these thoughts, he walked out
of the room,
"Darling, will this eternal rain ever stop, will Zephyrus the God of Rage ever abandon this
curse?" He asked.
"No, my lord." She replied.
"Very well then, I have a plan..." He said whilst chuckling to himself.
"Hmph, what is in your head, Oh, King Zarok?" Morvanna asked herself.
Knock, Knock, Knock,
"Coming, hold your Eaglehorse," Aelion said before opening the door,
"Oh my friends, come on in!" Aelion said to Edward and Elara.
The house was full of war weapons and medals, even though the Nation never had one war
since its formation, and statues of ancient Luminari elf Gods and more elf stuff. This doesn't
change the fact that his house was gigantic, after all, his dad was the King's advisor and military
leader AND a part of a noble family (meaning his ancestors fought in the World/Civil War 300
years back). To paint an image in your head of what his house looked like, imagine a normal
stereotypical elf house merged with the mansion of a Demi-God, to help you imagine Edward's
house/castle, imagine Aelion's house, but 10 times bigger and this is NOT a hyperbole, his
house was literally 10 times bigger. It was a gift from the God of Love, Elena. She gifted it after
the Civil War and when the Royal family had to migrate to the westernmost side of Lumin
because of the border (The more to the west you are, the safer, and in Umbra, the closer you
are to the border, the safer. That is why the Lumin castle is on the westernmost side of Lumin
and why the Umbra castle is close to the border).
(Writers Notice: Sorry for the overuse of exposition but I find it very necessary in this case)
"So, where is your father and the flying elephant?! We have to start the journey now!" Elara
asked whilst jumping up and down
"My father? Ha-ha! Why would he be here? He is training the military for some non-existent
upcoming attack or something I don't know." Aelion said whilst chuckling and laughing but also
sounding worried. Edward and Elora looked each other in the eyes and gulped.
"W...w...wait a damn minute. I am 10 and so is Elara, and you're 9. Why is your dad not here to
demonstrate how to drive and effectively control the elephant? You surely don't expect us to fly
this thing without instructions... right?" Edward asked whilst sounding nervous. Ha! He was
scared to fly the elephant! He worked so hard to convince his mom only to be stopped by fear.
No, Edward is not wired like that, one way or another, he was going to get onto that elephant
and fly it north to that mountain. Elara was his twin not only physically but also ideologically.
"You guys thought that my dad would allow me to ride his elephant? He won't allow me to touch
it, let alone ride it! What we are doing right now is called 'stealing'. Mind you, it's for a good
cause, so let's stop complaining and let's go." Aelion replied sounding worried that they were
going to back out, how wrong he was! Edward and Elara wasted no time and went outside in
the field and climbed up the elephant. Edward put all his belongings in the pouch and so did
Elara and Aelion had his own separate pouch.
"Alright, how do we fly this thing then, hm Aelion?" Edward asked whilst vibrating in excitement.
He was way too excited for this trip, way too excited.
"Both of you, send some wind and boost us up," Aelion replied. "With our hands or weapons?"
Elara asked. "Now can you use a bow as a turbine? Didn't think so, use your hands." Aelion
replied sounding annoyed. The twins then took in a deep breath and started creating those
turbines. The Elephant was slightly lifted but it required much more wind,
"Come on guys, put your back into it!" Aelion screamed whilst trying to keep the elephants
cool. The twins started grunting and pushing even harder. Elara collapsed but Edward then
chuckled and said,
"Now I can show off without you having all the credit." After saying this, he only used one finger
and created a turbine that could pick up 20 Flying Elephants. The elephant was instantly sent
flying 20 meters into the sky and Aelion initiated the flight. The elephant screamed as his ears
were being pulled but then he stopped screaming as he was finally airborne.
"Woah, Edward, where... where did that power come from? It reminds me of Dad's power."
Elara asked whilst gasping for air.
"It's called, training and hard work, sister. I've been training like this since I was Luka's age, you
were twiddling with your thumbs at my age, ha-ha-ha!" Edward said lightheartedly and
chuckling.
"Oh shut up you big head!" Elara said whilst also laughing. The twins then started pushing each
other as a joke and Elara fell off!
"What the heck! Edward save her!" Aelion screamed whilst looking back at them, which left him
open to hitting a flying horse. He hit the horse head-on and then swerved which sent all the
cargo flying down alongside Edward. Edward then grabbed his staff and made a tornado that
surrounded him from the waist down, he then flew to Elara and grabbed her,
"Eternal Wind Vortex!" Edward shouted before creating a vortex near the Elephant which then
sucked them in and, essentially, teleported them to the elephant.
"What's happening, Aelion!" Edward panicked and didn't know what to do,
"Well, we might just crash if the elephant doesn't stop with this, and it's all your fault!" Aelion
replied sounding enraged. The elephant was acting strange, he was going in all directions and
screaming,
"Hey, how about you shut your stupid green mouth up and do something!" Elara asked
being enraged that her brother was insulted. The twins were like a dog, bite and they'll bite
back. Aelion was scared of her because of her incredible aim so he tried to do something but
nothing helped!
"Hm, the elephant must be blind or something, can't he see the incredible red forest below him?
So why isn't he landing? Oh, I got it!" Edward thought to himself. He then jumped off the
elephant and used his bow as a glider to fly in front of him and he was not wrong, 2 feathers of
the eagle horse were stuck in both of the elephant's eyes which, technically, blinded him. So,
Edward called his sister and formed a tornado like the one he had done before. She then went on top
of the elephant's head and jumped into Edward's tornado,
"Okay, when I say go, shoot 2 wind arrows in his eyes, but don't make them sharp! Make them
blunt!" Edward shouted, sounding worried and gasping for air.
"What are you thinking, Edward!?" Aelion aske.
"GO!" Edward shouted and Elara fired the 2 arrows, they didn't do anything.
"Come on Elara, give it one more shot! You got this, I know it!" Edward shouted,
"I can't, I can-" Elara mumbled,
"SHUT UP, DON'T SAY YOU CAN'T DO IT IF YOU ONLY EVER TRIED ONCE! NOW FIRE
THOSE DAMN ARROWS!" Edward shouted ferociously. Who knew a 10-year-old could have
such a voice?
Elara gritted her teeth, focused her eyes, pulled back the string, formed the 1st arrow, and fired.
This time, it blew the feather right away. She reloaded and fired again at the other eye, it also
blew the feather away. Edward saw this and swiftly used the vortex technique to get back on
the elephant.
"How did... how... I'm not even gonna ask at this point." Aelion mumbled but was also very glad
that they didn't die.
"Never underestimate the Lucianis twins!" Said the twins simultaneously with pride and honor!
They were proud of who they were! Aelion quickly calmed the elephant down and landed
near a pond that was covered by trees which he wiped away with his Nature element.
Unfortunately for them, all of their cargo was gone including the food, water, change of clothes
and climbing equipment.
To be continued...
